  1. Yes in town, not Mt. Crested Butte.
  2. This is what I bought. Planned to improve as is but oh well. New house will be 900 sf, not tiny but small.
  3. In summer, not really in winter. The hiking there is great. And in a few years since I will be kid free I can go down for extended trips. The town is super small and funky.
  4. I love tiny houses. I wish it wasn't in bad shape. Could have just put a small bedroom on the back. As it is now bedroom is a loft w a ladder. I'm too old to climb ladders in the middle of the night when I have to pee.
  5. Twas truly a great day at WP! Spring break for my kids this week, came up last night. Light crowds, sunny skies and great snow! I have had my place up here on the market for 4 days and got an offer today I will probably accept. Bought a 480 sf house in Crested Butte. Thought I could work with it but it is actually in pretty bad shape. Knocking it down and building another (somewhat tiny) house in June. (Had to change photos from tapatalk to attachment or they wouldn't load, anybody know why? Kept getting network error message)
  6. Finally it's winter here again
  7. Let me know if you want Copper discount passes
  8. I really want to do that this summer. You can get off half way in Needleton and hike into Chicago Basin to camp. Need to find someone to go with. Don't want to backpack my first time solo.
  9. 15 and 17.
  10. Just got back from a fun session at Eldora. Super warm, bluebird skies and no crowds. I blocked out Winter Park for us the week of spring break. I would like to stay the whole week. Not sure the kids will. Sigh.
  11. I would stay at the lodge again! The food in the restaurant was good also. Internet is spotty on the upper floors and cell service is not great either. The internet works fine in the lobby though. The rooms are somewhat dated but seems like they have made some upgrades. Its a quick 7-10 minute drive to the mountain.
  12. Those pics look depressing.
  13. I love hearing stories about companies actually being nice to their customers. I stayed at the Monarch Mountain Lodge recently to ski Monarch Mountain. I booked 2 nights but after one night my kids were calling and texting with some crap that forced me to come home. I just told the desk I was leaving early to take care of some "kid drama." I would not have asked for any kind of compensation. They refunded me my second night stay. I left them a nice review on Tripadvisor. It is an older hotel but they seem to be trying really hard to stand out.
  14. Almost didn't recognize Dan without his signature orange sweatshirt.
  15. That Lake Tahoe shot is beautiful

  17. ^ looks like he bedazzled his car.
  18. This was awesome! Calves are definitely going to be sore tomorrow.
  19. Yes we could really use some snow to freshen things up.
  20. *edit... I took a deep breath, I'm over it.
  21. My son texted me these pics from Abasin with his DAD. [emoji848] of course
  22. Nice report. I have fond memories of Stratton.
  23. Thanks guys
  24. I asked the kids for weeks to go on a ski weekend with me away from I-70. At the last minute they finally gave me a solid no. It's kind of a sad day as a parent when the reality sets in that your kids are too old to want to spend time with you (unless they want money). They would do a weekend like that with their dad, but teenage boy don't mix with their moms I guess. Anyway I decided to try Monarch Mountain. All the schools had off today and I knew I-70 would be a shitshow with long lines everywhere. Lift tickets are normally $74 but if you have a season pass to another CO resort they are $40, score! It is a small mountain with 5 fixed grip lifts, mostly doubles. They have all natural snow, no guns. The last storm cycle was almost 2 weeks ago so the snow was pretty hard pack but the grooming was nice. Felt a bit like I was at Eldora just doing laps. But the scenery was great, nice views from te top of each lift. I got a solid 3 hours in with no breaks before the crowds started filling in. The place has a real nice vibe. All the employees were incredibly friendly from the parking attendants to the liftees. There is a double black bowl that I hear is fun but I am definitely not at that level. Overall a fun day, bluebird skies. Can't ask for more.
