I'm taking the boys and a gaggle of their friends to Winter Park this weekend. I'll try to take some good pictures and post them. I'm hoping all the PT and other bullshit I've been doing is enough and I'm able to be on the snow pain free. I joined this site when my oldest was 8, trying to find someone teenager age to hang out with him at JFBB since he had no interest in hanging out with his mom on the hill. Conditions at winter park are amazing! Got some fresh snow last night too, which made driving over the pass sketchy. Im so pissed because the cortisone shot i got in my knee is not working as much as i thought it would. I had to leave after 2 runs because it was killing me. Next step is to get it scraped, i have torn/frayed articular cartiledge. Anyone ever have this done? They say down time is 2-4 weeks.

Do whatever you have to, just get out of NJ. Some people (most people) thought I was nuts for being middle aged and moving out here and leaving the beach. The vibe is so much calmer out here, people are happier, the sun shines all the time and there are endless outdoor things to do. Don't mean to ramble but someone like you would love it. Your wife seemed very cool when I met her and I"m sure she would love it too. The Poconos are great and actually I miss our place there more than NJ. Plenty of towns around that are very affordable. And good for you Chippy for getting out there.

What root said. 64 passed but won't take effect until 2014. From what I read the federal government can step in before that and shut it all down. If they don't, anyone over 21 can buy 1 oz of pot for personal use but can't smoke in public. You can also grow up to 6 plants in your house.

Our Sea Isle house did ok. Just damage to the garage, lots of sand, maybe some drywall replacement and some siding blew off. I consider that very lucky. Whoops thought I was posting this in storm thread, o well

Thanks. This was my attempt at my first 13er (not as impressive as a 14er). Made it 3/4 up. Lots of snow, passed a guy coming down who said he was dumb for going all the way up with no spikes. Said it got really steep and icy. I thought it best to turn around since I had no spikes either. But the views even from the point I made it to were amazing. Definitely on my bucket list for next summer.

Took the motorcycle to Aspen this weekend. Rode over Independence Pass. Colors were spectacular. Took a hike around Maroon Bells.

Raining now, which is wierd because it never rains here for an entire day. If it snows, I'll post pics.
