  1. I would like to meet some new PASR'S. I have brown pants, light blue jacket, black helmet. My son has all black pants and jacket fur on the collar. We have only really been to Frost twice in the last two years so I am not too familiar with the terrain. I suspect we will not be riding East mountain, maybe by the end of the season. I'm sure my other son who will be in the race program will be zipping down it before I do.
  2. Wait, the race team started this weekend? My son is signed up for that and they said it wasn't starting until the 13th because they wouldn't do it at BB. I love JFBB but they are lousy communicators.
  3. Yeah, I thought I saw Jeff in Guest Services at 8am. I was just about to say something to him when I saw him getting a season pass photo taken. I said to myself, no that can't be Jeff. But then every time I saw him on the slopes he had a huge smile on his face. BB was fun Sat morning. No crowds at all until around noon when we left. We were planning on going Sunday but when I heard the freezing rain hitting the window of my bedroom, I reconsidered. Jr. Race program begins Dec 13 at Frost. I guess I'll be over there a lot this season.
  4. Dec 13 projected opening. I called yesterday.
  5. Its not listed on their website, hours only go till Fri. Do they open at 8 or 10?
  6. probably too small for anyone here but just in case. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:L:LCA:US:1123 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=260318111402
  7. just won instantly. Also won last year and was able to use it. Thanks for the reminder Phillycore.

    Crash Pads

I broke my tailbone the first season I learned to snowboard. I fell a lot and didn't know how to stop so I would either fall to my knees or on my butt. Then I bought an AZZPAD which looks absolutely rediculous but helped a lot. Plus if you sit down to strap in it keeps your butt warm and dry. If someone had told me to invest in one when I started I'm sure it would have made a big difference. After almost 3 years I still can't kayak for more than an hour or take long car rides with out it bothering me. The first few times I go out this season I will wear it until I get my snowboard legs back. If you see me you can point and laugh.
  9. All rain and insane wind in Avalon. Electric lines are down everywhere, debris all over the streets, saw a port-o pottie knocked down from the wind (yuk) and the flashing is coming off my roof (ahh). The bay almost looks like it has little waves.
  10. He will be doing the program at JFBB. Right now he has a pair of skis that he has already used 2 seasons. He has gone about 20 days each year and I have only gotten them tuned/sharpened in the middle and end of the season. If he wasn't joining the race program I would not be buying him new skis, but I guess he really needs them. Since I am getting him new skis, should I be getting race skis or just another pair of all around skis? I will probably take shifdawgs advice and get him a much better pair of boots, either rental or purchase. Thanks for the help, Sib.
  11. great link, thanks
  12. thanks for the info. I figured I would have to get him better boots. The last two seasons I did a seasonal rental on boots. I know it's an expensive sport, but if he finally finds something he really enjoys and is good at I don't mind spending the money.
  13. he's 8 and just doing a club program.
  14. thanks for the info. We did the 4th grade last year but they didn't offer 5th last year. I definitely saved some money with it last season. Vermont also has a 5th grade pass.
  15. My younger son wants to join the race program this season. I need some advice on what I am going to need. I don't want to go out and get him race skis, poles, special boots (??) etc if I don't need to. I know he will need special equipment but is there a place I can rent this stuff for the season or is it better to buy? If I buy the stuff what brands etc. He is so excited for ski season to start. He keeps asking me when its going to snow already?? He also tells me when school is boring he just daydreams about skiing.
  16. I agree with Whistler. The town is so beautiful and there is so much to do besides skiing.
  17. thanks I love dogfunk
  18. that was fun to watch. It looks so nice out there, it makes me wish we went again this summer.
  19. A small section of park with features geared towards kids 12 and under.
  20. I'm jealous, Whistler is so beautiful.
  21. We went to Boulder on Sun. I only took a few runs with David and then sat in the lodge and let him snowboard alone for a few hours. I wasn't into it with the rain and I had a nice fall when I got stuck in a rut right in front of Nipples. He stopped to ask if I was ok...embarassing. David was in all black and was the only young kid I saw that day.
  22. great pictures of your kids doing the steep trail.
