well, Stever I don't know if you should buy it but thanks for the link. I just emailed it to all my friens who have kids that are casual skiers. POC should get some for his daughter. A kids setup for $50. If you use it twice it paid for itself.

It's not babysitting when its your own kids . Sorry I'll miss you guys. I have to hand out youth league trophies to all my kiddie bowlers in the morning. Have fun. Oh and I guess I missed the thread where Nipples broke his foot. Hope he's ok.

for little kids like mine Freedom is still big. Stratton had a park that was geared towards kids under 10.

After visiting Stratton and seeing the kids have such a blast on their beginner terrain park, I was wondering why Boulder doesn't have something like that. Since they market their mountain as basically 70%+ park, why don't they have anything small? They could easily fence off a sliver of one of the beginner trails and put up a few features. With a place for little kids to ride maybe this would also alleviate some of the problems of the kids wandering into the more advanced sections. Just a thought.

All I can say is you are brave for hitting the terrain park.

I'm leaving in 10 min. Light blue jacket, brown pants. The only pasr female today

Pretty sure I am going tomorrow. I would love to dress gaper but I didn't have time to search the thrift shops this week. I guess top of the 6 pack at 9am? There's no way I will make it by 7:15 since I am driving from Avalon.

Went to Bromley again today. We were on Pa Ridge Racer schedule today and didn't get there until 11am. Today was the sunniest day but also the coldest because of the wind. Temp was in low 30's but felt much colder. They had a St Patty's day spec and we scored $17 lift tickets. The snow was much harder today but by afternoon it softened up a lot. We did the upper mountain for 3 runs. The wind was really bad up there so then we did the rest of the day on the lower mountain. There are some fun trails (for our ability anyway) at Bromley. Our last run of the day was The Glade and we all did pretty bad. I fell several times and got a good bonk when my head hit the ground. Helmets are good! But the kids liked going through the trees and did not fall nearly as much as me. All in all Vermont still has a lot of snow. The locals said they got about 12 feet this season. I don't know if that's average or what but definitely better than PA. Bromley is a great mountain and I would recommend it to anyone with kids. Here are some random pics. I dont know how to put text in between photos but one is of our condo. Pic of the deck, no one around here shovels off the snow.

well this is going to be quick because the kids and I are in the fitness center where the internet is and they are dying to leave. We woke up to 4" of fresh snow. First I was excited but then realized it was very heavy and hard to push through. We spend the whole day there and had a nice time. They had a Burton demo going on and there were things to do for the kids which was nice. The upper mountain was covered in fog and very hard to see. We only took one run from there. The kids got park passes and did the park for a while. They had a small rainbow box that David kept hitting and was extremely proud of himself. My picture taking skills are awful so my attempts at action shots failed miserably. I kept getting him out of the frame or an arm or leg, pitiful. Today we did Bromley. I have to say I really like Bromley. It is a very laid back place. Very nice for families. Just David and I went and Stephen and my hubby went snowmobiling. We walked through the woods and were able to go down the terrain park from our condo which was great. Then got our tickets and did the upper mountain all day. I have to say I am not in as good of shape as I thought because my legs are like jello today. The trails are so much longer than Big Boulder. The path we were doing all day was 2.5 miles. So that's prob equivalent to 4-5 BB runs. After a while I was letting David go up alone because my legs were done. I think we will do Bromley again tomorrow just because its so convenient. The US open at Stratton practice starts tomorrow but none of the big names will be there until at least Wed (from what I am told). Ok here are a few pics, I don't have time to put them into photo bucket.

according to the website March Madness starts 3/17

just finished loading up the car. Our gear is at the shop getting a tune up and I'll pick that up on my way out of town. Leaving after work tomorrow. We are skipping Belleayre since it was going to add about 2 hours to the total drive time once I thought about it. We are paying a visit to my father in law instead. He is conveniently located in NY so its halfway. Then a quick stop at Rockland bakery for some fresh NY bagels and off to Vermont. I am so bad with taking pictures but I am going to try and take a lot. I talked to my cousin today and she said temps have been cold and there was some snow today. Stratton and Bromley are both 100% open and (according to the websites) have good coverage and base.

well if Blue is closed I am offering free riding

I still have 5 free lift tickets to Boulder on my season passes. If we go up the weekend of the 29th, I'll hand them out to anyone who wants one. (including Toast)
-
hey, I'll have you know I only wore spandex back in the day to go to aerobics class. We won't be able to make it because of our Vermont trip but there better be a pasr gaper day the last weekend in March.

nice TR Erin. Post some pics of the snowmobile tour if you have any. That sounds beautiful.

sorry to hear about Steven. And Doug, leave him alone. He's taken runs with my kids and tried to help them improve.

I agree with Glen, the more pictures the better. Those are great!

I loved the town of Whistler, but I didn't go on the mountain. There is so much to do there besides skiing and everyone who is there is into outdoor activities. The place is extremely clean, you don't trip over homeless people etc. But if you are going just for the skiing I would say check out a US location first. THat Whistler vacation was the most expensive I have ever taken. Just the airfare to Vancouver is over $500 per person. And from what I heard from talking to locals, there are not too many sunny days. One local said that is what he missed the most about living there ; all the clouds and grey skies.

I don't think the under 30 crowd knows what jams are.

I have my own money from my night job as a female escort, but this is a ski forum, so enough about all that.
-
I wanted the house so I bought it. When we got it skiing was not the first thing on my mind. I just had nice childhood memories of my parents taking me to the Poconos.
-
If you ever come to the shore, stop in.

ok, I literally just started to blush, my face feels hot right now. Other than the non skiing, my hubby is the man.
