  4. really nice. those pictures are crystal clear.
  5. They advertise that there is a "special" season ticket pass holder window open on weekends and holidays for the sole reason of not having to wait in a long line. I don't know about Frost but at BB there is a sign near the entrance to the tunnel that says season pass holder validation. There is a door to walk in and also a window that, theoretically you should just have to knock on and get service. They ignore you if you knock on the window because there is always a line. Its a very small area to begin with so if there are 10 people in there, its crowded. If everyone in line just had to get their pass validated it would only take a few minutes, but like I said there are always other people in there. When I am anxious to get my ticket and I am standing there listening to, "how much are rentals, how much is tubing, my child is 3, is that too young to take a lesson, have you found my one black glove, I lost it?" It just gets annoying. And like I said there are always several people behind the desk that can answer these questions. But they are always just kind of hanging around seeming to do nothing. The person at the one computer to get your tickets validated is dealing with these people. If they made 2 lines it would be much smoother. The first line should say season pass validation only. Meaning that is the one and only reason you should stand in that line. The other line can say: general questions or customer sevice. Or if they moved season ticket validation over to boulder park lodge, its kind of out of the way so people would not just stop by to ask questions. Just a thought. Overall it is not the 30 minutes you would sometimes wait in the main ticket line on a weekend, but it is still annoying. I have no patience.
  6. you're right, it doesn't say it anywhere on the website. Last year that is what they did and I am pretty sure it was on the website for this year. I would call to confirm. And if it was just me with the pass, I would upgrade to the vip. But the kids season pass prices are $100 less than adult ($349). The Vip is $549 kid or adult. I can't justify spending $500 extra for the 3 of us just because I have no patience. But that validation process is a pain in the ass. Lately there have been several people ahead of me asking if little susie's pink gloves were in lost and found and people just asking random questions about rentals and lessons. There are 2 computers at the desk and always at least 4 people working the desk, but only one computer is ever on and one employee taking care of the line.
  7. my kids better start saving money now for next season then. Those chicken tenders and fries at the lodge are not cheap. With 3 passes that was $150 in disgusting fried food. 4 free passes is nice but when I invite my friends up most of them say they will go tubing.
  8. I'm with you mbike-ski, we are in our prime.
  9. beautiful pictures
  10. F I cant go now. Bigdaddyk I want a raincheck. I was looking forward to hanging out with you.
  11. ha, you're funny.
  12. apparantly some irresponsible individuals. Want a job?
  13. found out lots of crap went on at work while I was away. I might not be able to go this weekend. If I do I would love to hang out with you bigdaddyk. I won't fly down the double blacks with you though. I'm sticking to the blues. I havent been to Frost since last season, I would definitely be up for a change.
  14. wow, sarasnow 48 days so far. Thats more than I get in 2 seasons. LUCKY.
  15. Sat was super crowded as I knew it would be. Got there around 8:30 and lift lines didn't get too bad until around 11am. No compaints about the conditions. Sunday I couldn't convince my kids to go since it was so cold. I ended up getting there around 11:30. Saw Nipples looking like superman with all his jumps. The place was completely dead. The parking lot was packed but I guess everyone was in the lodge drinking hot chocolate because there was no lift lines to speak of. I left around 3. Convinced my son to come back with me around 5. That was a big mistake. It was absolutely freezing and everything turned to ice. It was miserable. He had a decent fall on Freedom park trying to do a jump. If it was warmer I would have told him to suck it up but we called it quits after that. Went today and it was great. When we pulled in the lot it was pretty empty and the temp was 7 deg. The first hour was pretty cold but after taking a break in the lodge it felt much warmer. The sun came out and it was pretty nice. Not crowded at all and the snow was nice, not icy. I think I am heading up next weekend kidless...so I will be looking for someone to ride with. The day I went alone it was kind of boring.
  16. POC are you looking to move up to the Poconos or just buy a weekend house?
  17. I don't ever remember BB closing their lifts. Camelback has been closing their lifts lately due to winds. It has a lot of people complaining.
  18. somehow I see this turning into a hate on Camelback thread
  19. go to boulder 8am and leave at noon.
  20. I know Jim as well, he's the man.
  21. I love Mike N Matt's. My son bought his board there the beginning of last season. He was having trouble with one of his front binding (getting it off). Mike N matt's changed it for him in no time and didn't charge us anything.
  22. My kids have 1/2 day of school Friday (woohoo!). If they are not too tired I am hoping to hit BB Fri night. Definitely early Sat morning. Who else.
  23. the first 2 or 3 day of snowboarding are the hardest. You just can't stop falling down. It does get better and once you get the hang of it you'll have a blast. Stick with it and get a lesson.
  24. Nips and I would prefer he went to a private school for his skiing but his mother will not support that idea. wow, you should work on her a little more. Someone I know sends his kids to one of the Vermont schools. I think there are 4 of them: Stratton, Okemo, KIllington and Mt. Snow. They basically get one on one tutoring. Sounds like Steven misses a lot of school. Tell his mom he would probably get a better education. The high schools in good old south jersey are terrible. I have a while before I have to think about it but at least if they went to Vermont all the students are athletes and are there for a purpose. I don't think there would be the gangster wannabes, drugs and fights there are here. But the Vermont schools are expensive. Only one website listed the price and its about 25,000 per year.
  25. nice report. Man that ride really sucks. I don't think I could do a one day trip. Make sure you kiss your awesome wife tonight. I am sure she is up to her eyes in diapers and baby puke.
