I just checked the weather forecast for the rest of the evening in Tannersville. 10% chance of rain the rest of the night temps in the low 40's. So what's with the "due to weather"? Warm temps? So lame.

just booked everything. We got slopeside lodging at the Boles. Reservation girl sent me pics, man are those condos dated. For the price, you would think they would be a bit more updated but I guess you are just paying for the convenience. Also a necessity. I have realized I can no longer stay in a hotel room with 2 kids. Thanks for all the input.

I've heard music at BB before. ok, I just noticed someone put GS racer under my avatar. How did that happen?

alright bigdaddyk I officially hate you and am jealous.

looking like Bromley. Thank you romemadman. It is small for a Vermont resort, but compared to BB its huge. We dont need any special terrain, just uncrowded lift lines. I am pretty sure my fam can hook us up at Stratton, so maybe we'll check out that for a day. A full season of the Simpsons seemed to do the trick for the car ride last year to Vermont, hope it works again.

Yes they close and re-groom.

I just looked into Bromley, thanks. It has slopeside lodging and seems off the beaten path. Great tip.

nice pictures. I really like the 5th one. Glad you made them larger.

already checked, peak used to give a pass but now since they offer their Noreaster pass they do not give any discounts to those resorts. I have family that has a place at Stratton and of the Vermont resorts its pretty far south. The difference between 6 hours and 8 hours in the car with 2 kids is a huge deal to me. I usually want to strangle both of them just on the ride up to the Poconos. I know Hunter gets very crowded but it can't possibly be any worse than Bb on a given weekend. Oh and believe me, I am not going for the "challenging" terrain. I can fly down Bunny's Elbow this season without falling on my ass, and that's a big improvement from last season. That shoud give an indication of what kind of pathetically skilled rider I am. thanks for the input Philpug.

I am trying to throw together a trip the weekend before Easter. I have 3 free kids lift tickets to Hunter and its closer. But Stratton is bigger, maybe not as crowded but the US open will be there starting that Monday so maybe it will be crowded. I would like slopeside lodging since, unfortunately, my husband doesn't really ski and I will be going out on the snow with the kids alone. I have 1 free Stratton lift ticket that I won in that contest. Input appreciated.

well if you see us tomorrow please say hi. I am sure we will be going up the triple lift near boulder park all day.

an adult must be posting for this kid. Everything is spelled right, capital letters where they should be, different font sizes.

I want to see some new faces. I'll be hanging out with these 2.

since no one posted a report for yesterday I guess I will. I got there with my kids around 1:30. the place was pretty crowded and the snow was slushy. Luckily for me my kids have discovered they like the left side of the mountain so we don't have to lap Tannanbaum over and over. Now we have to lap Bunny's Elbow. At least its a more interesting trail with some turns. My younger son really found his groove yesterday. He was laughing his ass off all afternoon and racing his brother to the bottom. Usually he is the one who wants to go home first and the first to complain gloves don't fit right, too cold, his boots hurt etc. I could not get him off the snow. After lapping that trail 12 times I was ready for a break but my kids were not. They did not want togo in the lodge. So reluctantly I sent them up alone. I knew the older one would be fine, but if the younger one melted down at the top of the mountain there would be trouble. They did great so I sent them up a few more times alone. I lost count of the amount of runs we did. That was my 4th straight day on the snow and today my legs are feeling it. We took the day off today and rode around on our quads and played in the snow (I mean ice) around our house. Tomorrow we will be back well rested. I must be really jonesing for internet because right now I am at BB lodge posting this. The place is completely insane. There was a total traffic jam getting in here, the lot is full. I parked near some construction trailer, hope my car doesn't get towed. Oh and I have only seen Papasteeze so far (as usual). I am convinced I am not going to meet any other pasr's. I always look for stickers on helmets and ski poles but never see any.

don't know about Christmas evening. I might not even get up there until around 5. We plan to be at Boulder Wed. 26, Thurs 27. I might try to get to Blue on Friday. I have that free 4th grade pass I want to use. We'll see what everyone's mood is. I know I won't make it to first chair like Doug. We are used to our short 10 minute trip to boulder. Sat & Sun are calling for rain so we will prob just stay local. I won't have internet all week aaahhh!
-
wow, poor Jeff. That's really a shame. Hopefully it will be a speedy recovery.
-
congrats for getting out on the snow. Isn't your baby due in like a week?
-
agreed. That is my only complaint against BB. The season pass ticket validation window is always jammed with people just buying daily passes. There is a window that technically you should be able to get it done without having to walk in, but they never open it. I try to put all our stuff down right across from the door so I can keep an eye on it. It is definitely an extra hassle.

In response to Justin's post...camps do have adult only sessions. I believe if you are 18 or over the "nazi" rules do not apply since you are legally an adult. Plus I don't think the point of spending that amount of money to go to Whistler is to smoke pot and get trashed in your hotel room. Camp is a great overall experience. I wish they offered it when I was that age.
-
If you are willing to lay down the cash, I say go. We went to Dave Murray ski/ride camp last summer and it was great. I hear COC is the best in Whistler. The only reason we didn't pick that camp was because my kids were too young to meet the age requirements. Whistler itself is a great place to visit. All the camps have off snow activities such as: bungee jumping, ziptrek, paintball, wakeboard, mountain biking etc. Everyone who is there loves to ski or ride so you will make friends fast. PM pappasteeze for more info, he has sent his kid there at least twice.

everybody stop crying and be happy there are 2 snowstorms coming.
