We are driving up tomorrow and plan to be there around 4pm. If my kids are not too tired maybe we'll go. I at least want to go get their pics taken for their season passes so we don't have to deal with it Sat am.

They have a webcam on Big Boulder Park, but it doesn't say they are making snow on that trail. I wish they would have another open. I am going to need a day to get my snowboarding legs back. I'd rather not have all the ultra hip jibhonks laughing at the old lady trying to snowboard.

I can't see that happening. All that real estate up there. People didn't buy those places to go to a waterpark.

I haven't been to that many great skiing locations, but Whistler is great. Lots of condo rentals (not sure about houses). Tons of off mountain activities for your kids.

BB is my home mountain so yes I am biased. They are saying "preseason" open and discounted lift tickets by more than half. They are getting a lot of hype for doing so. I had mothers at parent/teacher conferences coming up to me asking me about it since they know I go up there a lot. I had a kid come home from Virginia Tech for Thanksgiving break telling me he was talking to a bunch of kids at school about it. I know BB is a small mountain so obviously CB needs more snow to have good coverage. Boulder is probably not even making any money by having one trail open, but its great PR and great for their passholders.

You can pick it up during business hours and have your photo taken there or email them a photo. Head shot only and save it in first name last name JPG. I think you can also pick up at Jack Frost Mon-Thurs. Double check though.

Glad Ty is OK. That kind of crap happens way too often. My kids got plowed over a few times last season. Never any parents around and the kids don't apologize.
