Where are you SpecialK?? Let's do Sunday
-
great idea dude, great idea. I think we all agree that the people who sit right in the way should be dragged down the mountain, then dragged down the road by a car. That might teach the lesson.
-
hahaa, yeah. saw that tree yesterday. that n00b tree.. ladies keep tossing your goodies in that tree!
-
Looks like I'm heading there this sat, 1/27. Hope the new pipe is open and ready. SpecialK and I, with some friends, are gonna be up at the poconos this weekend. First whole weekend without rain!! woo woo! should be a good time
-
I'll be up at the poconos this weekend, looks like Camelback saturday and JFBB sunday. Is CB's pipe going to be open? I saw they are blowing snow on it.
-
yeah, that's because they were the only mountain open, hahaa. They did it right with their snow making the beginning of this season. Yeah JFBB is pretty sweet. I like how you can switch between JF and BB. Can't wait till all mountains are open though, let's see what they all have to offer.
-
I agree. I snowboard, but i love doing long trails. Moguls are a lot of fun too. This season just went right to terrain parks. I like all, parks and trails, but i hope regular longer trails stay in style. The mountain should still appeal to everyone.
-
Back to the topic, I'll be there at JF that morning. Someone think of a meeting spot..
-
yeah, even with the rain it was still pretty sweet. As the night progressed, it became less crowded. I think it's rained every time i've snowboarded so far.. thank god for this new temp drop, it's about time. I can't wait to finally hit the mountain and not worry about a soggy boot afterwards.

Amazing Great Photos
-
So you'll be wearing the bright pink jacket, pants, and even a matching board. Don't tell me.. pink flower fingernails too?? haha
-
Man, if the don't want you to speed, are they going to pass out wrist speedometers or something?? Or are they going to just have rangers standing there yelling for people to "SLOW DOWN!" They could have a big police radar speedometer i guess. That displays your speed when you go past. If this is for real, what a joke. They better just post rangers at the merge points on the trails, signs are always a good thing too.
-
alright, gotcha. none the less.. they will still be the first to open all trails, i'm sure.
-
Sounds great dude, so this weekend most of it should be open now, awesome. JFBB has been so smart about when to blow snow, that's why they've been open and everyone else isn't, hahaa. I'll be there Sunday. good news!

If you like going to Canada, and you've already been to Tremblant, try looking over Whistler/Blackcomb. That is where I'm going for my next trip to Can-din-adia! It's right near Vancouver. Their website is pretty sick too, lots of photos. Vids from the parks too. Two giant mountians. Might be a little costly, but worth it. Nintendo sponsers one of the parks, pretty sweet. As for trails, wow. Amazing

I hope this coming rain doesn't kill the new snow. Hopefully they have been blowing snow each night before this weekend comes.
-
Bear Creek is right there with Big Boulder. The mountains that stay open the latest are the, umm.. greatest. yeah that was gay, but it's true. you can sleep in and still get a good day of riding in. Camelback isn't that bad, at least last year when i was there, those high speed lifts are pretty nice.
-
yeah, we need facts.. not rumors dude. Anyone know for sure when?
-
Might go if there's no rain this weekend, Past 3 times I've been at the Poconos it has rained. Are there a lot of people still there till 3am? When does it die down?

"rain drops keep falling on my helmet..." (1/5 Report)
anthony replied to Matt's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
all in all it was still a great day, even with the rain. Who were the two dudes in the red car, think it was a nissian, they zoomed past SpecialK and I. We were in the red truck. But yeah, a ton of people were inching down the diamonds. It was basically a slalom of kids that should not and could not make it down. We left that side once that person got hurt, they did shut it down. I'm ready for the next 9.33 lift ticket, got my dollars worth -
Rain doesn't stop us! it was a good cool down shower on the lift up each time. 10 bucks, no lines, and soft snow... niiiice!
-
Watched it a few times, very sweet!
-
it would work, as long as the weather was right. Once snow is over the wood, and frozen there, it would stay. Granted more snow would be needed after a ton of people used the ramp. It would have to be upkept just like regular snow kickers. With the wood ramp base you just need enough snow on top to keep it running. Anything is worth a try.

PSU snowboarding is using tussey, right. I was there for a big air comp, pretty sweet even though tussey is so small. May come up to visit, a friends brother is living up there now. How is tussey doing with snow now?

He has a good point, as of right now BB is doing the best with this lack of winter. It'll be March by the time any halfpipe opens. Too many people go to Blue, and that's why it gets so damn icy, even after fresh snow. We need to spread a rumor that terrorists took over Blue Mt. then once people stop going.. we can all go, plus ticket prices will lower. Bonus!
