Pa Ridge Racer atop the Elevator Pa Ridge Racer Slaying the challenge glade Michael charging challenge glade
-
Michael and I left the house early this am and picked up smartass en route to Jack Frost.. Pulled into the lot about 7:50 or so and booted up. After getting our tickets we headed down lehigh for some fresh cord. Then Exhibition twice before T-bolt then lapping the east mountain a few times till 9. (had a quick hi/bye with C1er who was lapping east mtn) On down sno-chute to meet up with Pa Ridge Racer... No need to give the run-down as he already did that... Challenge glade was SAWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET Fresh blown as advertised..... Peak resorts treatin the customers Right.. (Take notes Barbera Green...Blue Mtn..) Pa RR and I dragged smartass in and judging by the smile on his face I don't think it will be his last runs in the trees for sure.. Then Pa RR and I went on an expedition to find the long lost Elevator... Oh yeah it was long lost... thick stickerbushes galore and saplings. We tried to find a line quite a few times, but it wasn't happening easily. Believe it or not the snowbase actually slid in a few spots.. Crazy stuff... I learned one thing for sure... skis are not meant to make turns on stickerbushes... We were determined to nail it clean but it was simply too thick and we tried several different angles. I ALMOST nailed it on my 2nd try only to get hung up on a bush-hole near the very bottom. It's so overgrown that it was one of those things you either nailed it or you got owned. We had an audience quite a few times, even some patrollers who called out... we got two on the elevator, but unlike Blue mt. they just asked if we were ok as we hiked up and collected gear out of the thorns. There was NOONE else even attempting it whatsoever and we both agreed that it was as successful as it was going to get. JF REALLY needs to re-open the elevator as it's truly a lost treasure so when we start the petition please help us get it back for all of us to ski it....(sans thorn bushes and saplings...) The Snow today was GREAT, the weather was Perfect, the company was Fun and it truly was and EPIC day.....

Hey BDK Any chance you can get JF to re-open the elevator for next season since they seem to like you so much.... Dayam wouldn't that be nice to have the elevator back on the map... -
Who all is heading out to JF tomorrow to get some of the freshest blown manmade pocono POWDUH off Exit 80?? I'm coming up bright and early and my eldest is as well.. We're doing the carpool thing with another PASR and rumor has it that PA Ridge Racer Extroidinaire Dom. will be making an appearance and doing an autograph session (bring your own sharpie). Anyone else down?? Want to make a meeting spot, time to make some turns? Always looking to meet more PASR's....

Snowmaking at Jack Frost
phillycore replied to Heather-Big Boulder's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
Yeah pretty much..... The snow is nicer, the terrain is more diverse, they open first, close last, and the price point makes it worth the extra drive... Looks like JFBB for me and my son and I can always use some vouchers to help out some of my homies from Blue... -

Agreed on the liberal tree skiing policy and the fact that they blow snow in there makes me keep coming back there compared to closer mountains... They were letting exhibition bump up on one side there for a little while earlier in the season and last year they let floyd's bump up... -
I was on tramdock.com and noticed an ad for brociety the same thing as WM, TD, CL, SAC, etc.. only snowboard specific. I'm not a snowboarder but didn't know that site was around and thought I'd mention it for those that are riders that also might not know... More than likely it's been around a while and I just never noticed it, but maybe someone else out there didn't either...

Snow in the challenge glade.... We LOVE you Jack Frost!!! I'm so glad I bought my pass there this year... It's a go for me.... oh and I just need to get some $$$ so I can re-up my season pass and get one for my son too for next season... Hells yeah -
2 Pairs of skis, and a pair of icelantic scouts is being a gear whore when you only can ski 20 days a year. I also have 2 pairs of boots 4 jackets (2 of them identical but different colors...) 6 pairs of pants although I've only worn two different ones this season.. 4 pairs of goggles I like buying skiing equipment... I even bought my son 2 pairs of skis..... and he has only been out 8 days this season so far... It's a bad addiction....

Dayam.... I never knew that place was there and it's literally probably like 5 miles from my house. I'm going to have to check it out... Correction ----- 3.6 mi – about 9 mins
-
Probably the absolute last thing I need right now is a new pair of skis yet I don't ever seem to just be satisfied with what I have... The only reason there isn't a pair of volkl bridge 185's on the way to me right now is because they sold them... someone please bitch slap me...
-
Yeah I kinda figured that.... Just my luck the volkl bridge pops up on tramdock for 340.... they have 1 185... I click it and begin checking out.... then I get this... Sorry, you were too slow. Someone bought the last one while you were checking out.
-
www.o2gearshop.com Sick deals on skis right now.... I was looking at getting some 2009 Volkl Bridge 189cm for $349 but waited too long.... only the shorter ones left They do have some silencers for mad cheap $175 (not my thing though) Kung Fujas but only 179 and shorter for $349 (I wanted the 189cm) Obsethed for $404 (that's too wide for me here....) That's just off the top of my head.....from stuff I looked at I want something that makes me not want to use my 2007 PE's and the firstbloods I got this season ain't doing it... they're nice but I still like my PE's better...lol I want my PE's in a 189 length Dammit!!! but they never made those....

thanks Brian for the update.... my boss is picking up a few..

Snow in the trees?? How was east mountain??
-
Bob..... what temp wax you got on those stix of yours ?? The weird temp swings are making the snow crazy lately for sure... I want to visit BC sometime this year as I haven't been there since it was Doe Mtn. but is it really all beginner trails cause that would be enough for me not to make a trip back there...
-
Now that makes a LOT more sense.... This wasn't the one linked in the short little edit post though which is where the confusion came in although there is stuff in that post about him being a pedophile and stuff like that.. Thanks for clearing that up.... Glad you guys don't need to deal with that shit anymore... Does remind me of the Blue ski patrol a little bit.. This shit's ridiculous
-
not sure here either...
