I'll be there.... leaving work at 12:30 getting changed and driving up.. Should put me there in the 3pm neighborhood. I'm definitely going to check blue's website as well as PASR to see if the 6 and quad are on wind hold... if they have them shut down, I may just head straight to Big Boulder as it makes no sense to pay for a ticket. Especially with no lift access to Challenge, Razors, Paradise, and Dreamweaver I might still go to Blue though even if the high speed lifts aren't running... If my wife would let me go on Sat. then I'd push the Blue day until then (assuming wind hold)... but I doubt I'll be able to get out this weekend due to my kids b-day party on Sun. and the last minute crap that we need to get done beforehand... If for some reason I don't go, I'll post it up in here for sure... I also have your cell so I can ring ya if you want... I'm hoping that all the lifts will be running though.... Camelback is normally the one who shuts em down...... I want to ski Blue tomorrow not Big Boulder... taking a half day from work to ski boulder isn't exactly what I had planned.. it's better than work though if that's what I had to do...lol -

JFBB Season Passes Going on Sale
phillycore replied to Papasteeze's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
I agree June would be a LOT better option for this discount.... then have a smaller discount for those that get in by say October... then the rest pay the normal fees... that would be a lot better... I'll take what I can get though... -
FWIW... I had my PE's (179 long and 85 underfoot) as well as my Firstbloods (180 long and 91 underfoot) and I knew I had made a bad choice on day 1 when I literally had my ass handed to me at Steamboat in 20+ of heavy wet ass snow. Day 2 I spent trying to recover on Groomers and hardpack most of the day... and day 3 at Winter Park Glenn beat the shit out of what was left of me when my legs were completely gone... Demo the fatties...

Camelwack will shut down their lifts for SURE..... I was in Stratton in December with 50mph gusts and all their high speed lifts were running.. they put the gondi on wind hold, but not any of the others.. Why do they shut em down a lot quicker in Pa compared to Vt, Co, etc.. ?? Extra cautious I guess..

Nope....wasn't there for the whole Johann fiasco... I saw Jeff in Philly at the auto show, not at Blue...haven't skied at Blue all season I did ski with Doug and Jeff at Killington, and Jack Frost though... -
I've deceided that I need to get up to Blue mountain to ski with at least some of the Blue Crew at least once this season.. I'm bunking out of work early tomorrow and heading up for the PM session... I can't get there till around 3 so I'll probably just wait till 4 and buy a night pass... Who will be there??

I'm not sure exactly however I had similar feelings about putting my skis on my roof (horizontal obviously) Whenever I use the rack I put the bases up so that the air will travel along the base of the ski rather than make the tips get pushed upwards due to the air hitting them from underneath. Not to mention that I figured that it would probably be better for gas milage as it was more aerodynamic. Some of those drives back and forth from the pokies get long and watching the skis on other cars bounce around it made me start thinking I hope mine aren't doing that.... That's why I thought they'd be much better off with the bases up rather than down..

Burglars steal cash from Blue Mountain Ski Area office
phillycore replied to Old Geezer's topic in Blue Mountain
Maybe someone was sick of Barbara ripping everyone off and they wanted to give back to the skiers/riders out there... ok probably not, but I agree it was more than likely an inside job... So maybe Barbara was ripping her employees off too and at least one of them said they'd rip her off....lol Somehow, some way the Blue Mountain skiing / riding community will pay for this weather it be a price increase, no spring fling coupons, or delayed coupons, or not finishing the rest of the new trail for another 4 years, or $1 increase in fried oreos..... I heard Ms. Green was thinking of installing meters in the parking lot.. -
JFBB Season Passes Going on Sale
phillycore replied to Papasteeze's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
I would imagine the reasoning behind the free passes along with the season pass is so that those passes can end up possibly bringing someone new to the mountain that hasn't been there before, or possibly new skiers and riders to the sport. They ARE offering current passholders the benefit of a discounted pass, you just get more for being a non passholder. It is a really good deal for both current passholders and new passholders. Do I think they could extend the discount out longer for current passholders yes.... do I think it should be until Nov. No. The reason you get the discount in the first place is because they get your money early. If they kept the discount open that long they would lose money. The early bird always gets the worm, as the early skier gets the POW (or cord in Pa...) -
Yep what he said...

That was my thought... Brew at the top lodge then skiing over..to the condo's by laurel glade I've never been to 7 springs though...
-
Glad we could help...
-
My initial thought was camelback because they have that lodge at the top near Marjies Not really a bar but you definitely would need to ski down from it. Then I thought... I'm not really sure if they even serve alcohol at that lodge... It's definitely not... Boulder, Jack Frost,Elk, Spring, Shawnee

Really wish I could come up for this, but made plans with friends a while back and this was the only day we could make it work with our schedules. Oh and JMO here but the main reason why Jeffy will not be on his PE's might have something to do with Greg having and probably bringing a radar gun just a HUNCH there...
-
I have the Marker Griffons on my Firstbloods and like them a lot.. I have the Marker M!2's on mt PE's... The Griffons are a LOT nicer than the regular old markers (although I've been pretty happy with those as well with the exception of the fact that they are impossible to click into if there is any snow whatsoever on the plate or on the bottom of your boot...) You'll be happy with the jesters as they are even superior to the griffon.

Yeppers I'm 10 miles south of there Of course the snow doesn't do any good down here skiing wise... the kids will get to go sledding for a day or two until the big thaw though..

over 7 inches here....
