Blue Mountain Terrain Parks. Features and Conditions
phillycore replied to TT C6's topic in Blue Mountain
Here we go AGAIN -
the whole trail??
-
yes it was definitely windy.... and COLD RR - your phone must have a better camera in it than my blackberry... I still want to pick up a $80-$100 digicam though to take ski pics with.. Just haven't found anything that I liked within that price range that's thin as hell with big easy to hit buttons that I don't need to take glove liners off for.... side note... anyone else see that north face is putting out new glove liners with really thin thumb and index fingers for texting, camera's, phone's, etc.. and they added a rubber grippy palm to them so you won't drop your electronics with them on too.. I dunno how much they cost or anything just saw it on the news..... looked good though
-
I was actually going home from JF and was only a few miles south of the pocono exit really... I actually thought it might be Blue but it looked like it was too close to me for some reason..
-
Shawnee is fun... I went there last year for the first time and had a blast... it's nice to get out to different places... variety is nice... Never been to alpine but wondered the same thing....
-
Pics definitely are NOT up to ridge racer quality by any means, but it was cold and all I had on me was my blackberry... One of these days I'll get me a pocket size digital camera for pics.... my digicam is way too big to be carrying around the mountain with. I like to have the least amount of crap on me as it is... I think you can get the idea though... it wasn't the best conditions there, but I'd bet it's better there than a lot of other places in Pa right about now.. Hey does anyone know what Ski Mountain it is that you can see drivers left on the NE extension headed southbound around mile marker 81 or so? Just curious... never noticed it was there before today....lol
-
Oh man.... probably the first time we were both there at the same time.... I agree on Exhibition being the best run of the day outside of the guns making it very cold with the temps.. I did see one guy jump off a chair today one chair in front of me on the east mtn lift. I think the seat bottom flipped on him or something... It was strange but he didn't fall or anything like that, pulled it off quite nicely actually. I'm pretty sure he went to sit down and the seat wasn't down which made him jump off, or ski off I guess.. Other than that nothing exciting, just another cold fun filled day at JF (Love park trees were nice...)

Ok this is going to be loaded with lots of crappy pics.. I don't even know what these pics look like cause I was just snapping them and tossing the blackberry back in my pocket. It is what it is... It was too damn cold to be taking pics anyway, but I snagged a bunch for the hell of it.. Since I took the time to freeze my ass off and take them, you are going to have to scroll through them...lol Good luck... 5 Degrees upon arrival in the lot http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/gallery...2_218_73404.jpg River Shot http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/gallery...72_218_4249.jpg River Shot 2 http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/gallery...2_218_87998.jpg East Mtn liftline http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/gallery...2_218_47739.jpg River shot via east mtn liftline sun bleached http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/gallery...2_218_24488.jpg East mtn snowmaking equipt. http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/gallery...2_218_23253.jpg Challenge glade... http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/gallery...2_218_25007.jpg View from the quad... http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/gallery...72_218_1178.jpg View from the quad part 2 http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/gallery...2_218_23143.jpg crappy cord from the quad pic... phillycore replied to snydershredder's topic in Blue Mountain
I bet tubing would be fun as hell if you were drunk and with a big group of friends.... then again that's what we used to do when it snowed a lot back in high school... head to the clayton park golf course with a keg and sleds hells-yeah -

phillycore replied to snydershredder's topic in Blue Mountain
I have 3 kids and none of them are interested in waiting in long lines freezing to go down some lame tubing hill at Blue... I might be heading to BB for midnight madness though..... Blue is headed to the shitta' and it sucks majorly -
Stratton Bus Trip leaving from NYC area. Think it's worth $95?
phillycore replied to TT C6's topic in General Chat
Yeah they have some really good ski and stay packages.... The trick is that you should goto manchester ctr. to eat though and bring snax with you cause the food is definitely resort prices. However Bentley's (inside the inn at stratton) has a burger and beer special for $11 on Sunday nights.. (2 kinds of long trail draft for beer choice) which isn't bad.. Also the village is a ghost town after the mountain closes. -
Jeff will soon be a JF fan boy if Blue keeps screwing up. JF kicks ass with snow quality,.... the lifts are just soooo dang slow...

Wrong... Prices are still the same at Stratton just checked now.. http://www.stratton.com/deals/hot-deals/index.htm Obviously there are blackout dates and mid-week is always going to be cheaper no matter what resort you go to. -

Apache/1.3.39 Server at www.steamboathotsprings.org Port 80 Glenn, That link you posted has a link on it to two different shuttle companies so that would probably be better to use for me since the sebring isn't 4wd...= ( 4wd rental vehicles are mad $$$ out of Denver intl. though... been there done that... You'd think the rental companies in weather areas would use more subies and 4wd / awd cars/suv's n their fleet but they'd rather jack the rates up and make more $$ instead of using volume..
