  2. Sounds like this may be your year.... [ But rest assured, we're going to be extending a similar "discount" on a monthly basis to members. Stay tuned! ] Quoted from AtomicSkier in a different thread... in reference to JFBB Maybe some 08/09 JFBB PASR Days possibly in the works???
  3. Snowmaking at Frost12.03.08 | By heather December 3, 2008 - Jack Frost had a tremendous night of snowmaking starting last evening through the morning hours. Our SMI fan guns, which are the latest and greatest in snowmaking technology were in full throttle. Jack Frost General Manager, Mark Daubert stated, "We are looking at a December 13 opening and with excellent snowmaking weather in the extended forecast we expect to open with the following terrain for all levels of ability Frosty, Powder Puff, Snowflake, Easy Rider, ONE Park, Tobyhanna, DeMatte's, Challenge, and Thunderbolt and soon to follow East Mountain." With Big Boulder being in operation 7 days a week this is perfect opportunity to make snow 24/7 with no interruptions. So all you Jack Frost enthusiasts be ready for some great skiing and riding. -heather

    Goggles

JMO here. I used to have both Smithy and Scott goggles for years... ended up with the realization that their lower end goggles were total shit.. Never tried any of their higher end ones... Then I went to Oakley wisdoms... I liked these a lot and still own two pairs... They are however expensive and the older ones with the platic clips instead of the rubber ones do not fit helmets very well.. This season along with the wisdoms I got a tip on a pair of Giro Root goggles that were selling at TJ Maxx for $25. I figured after the reviews on them (AZ) that I had to at least try them for $25 After 3 days use in varied weather including night skiing I have to say that they freaking kick major ass.. They are very simaler to the oakley crowbars (which also come highly reccomended) and came with a gold boost lens that IMO might not be the greatest for an extremely bright day (I have fire lens oakley's for those rare occasions here in the east) but other than the rare perfect bluebird day (again east coast) these are some serious kick butt goggles.. FWIW.... I tried to go back to the TJ Maxx and pick up another pair as well (I'm a gear whore..so what) but all they had left were Bolle somethign or others... which my son purchased for himself but I have not tried them yet..

    New Pants

Believe it or not TJ Maxx has some hellified deals going on for some high end stuff.. I picked up a pair of Giro Root goggles for $25 which I like just as much as my oakley wisdoms... They had some swany gloves there for $30 there too... really nice stuff... (just not my size...) I have read from people on AZ that some have picked up patagonia, north face, and columbia pants and jackets there for mad cheap... It's definitely worth a look since you're on a serious budget.. Otherwise you're going to have to shop online for some closeout type deal in order to stay in that range...
  7. I believe it's 10 but don't bank on that...
  8. If you look at the majority of people who bust TTC6's balls about the car pooling threads the ones who are giving him a hard time are the ones who live within 30 minutes of their local mountain. I 100% agree those people should give him a break as they have no need to even look at those threads quite honestly..
  9. I don't think Robert lives in the city.. I think he was just offering up an idea for those that can't drive and need a way to get to JF/BB on how they could do it if in a desperate situation. I may be wrong here, but thought he said he took the bus from Jim Thorpe - JF in a different thread before..
  10. I can surely understand the come and go as you want to part of it for sure... I don't like hanging around in the lodge so normally when my legs are burnt out I roll... or when I get bored. It might be just me but I get bored pretty quickly skiing by myself..
  11. I detect some carpooling jealousy.... Don't be hatin cause you hit the free wash with gas joint...
  12. Have fun out there today.... I'll be in Maryland running a drag racing event so no skiing for me until probably next Sunday... = (
  13. That's weak... even my noob 13 y/o son braved the temps and snow guns for some Nov. slope time.. Tickets were $25.... plenty worth it guns blazin or not... Gotta fire the guns up whenever possible IMO.... Techmo superbowl. come on.... WEAK.... play that crap when it's 75 degrees and raining it's ass off.
  14. Left Brookhaven at 8am for the 110 mile trip to BB with my 13y/o son Pulled into the already packed parking lot at 9:45am booted up, got in the ticket line and headed straight to the left for the lift. Pretty much just lapped Bunny Schuss all day with my son as he's a total noob. I made 4-5 trips down snowdrift or boulder park whatever the hell it's called.. Screwed around in the tree area at the top but I missed a turn somewhere and couldn't find the line I was looking for so I just said screw it and went down the regular trail...lol I dunno what crack I was smoking or whatever on that run, but whatever... No falls today from me, like 4-6 by my son... I was pretty much just gaping along today though... I never even bothered going over to little boulder or freedom today...honestly just didn't feel like walking, skating, or pushing over there after skiing it last night. They had all the guns blazing and it was a balmy 19 degrees out so the manmade pow was sticking to the goggles like crazy... We bolted out after 18 runs around 1pm a little earlier than planned due to my son being cold and me getting bored.. Saw LibRider in the parking lot... Matt Reynard early in the liftline, and I think Justin as well but I was on the lift. Think I heard someone yell Phillycore from above me on the lift but I didn't see who it was... The snow on boulder park was nice and bunny schuss is a fun run when it's not jammed with people. For the amount of people there they did a hell of a job keeping the lift lines damn near non existant... Mad props to BB...
  15. If I can get out of work.... I'll be there fo shizzle.. You can't miss me... I'll be the fattest guy on the mountain...or just look for the biggest rooster tail. Black North Face soft shell, Brown pants... Black helmet Probably going to break in the 9th ward Firstblood's if not then the PE's
  16. Who's there?? I'll be there Friday assuming that I can get out early... My boss said it depends on ourt workload, but I'm hoping for the best... If not then I'm there Sat. Hell maybe both days!!!
  17. I seriously doubt Stowe will be buying Blue anytime soon as Stowe is owned by AIG, and AIG is currently part of that whole bailout fiasco... If anything Stowe will be for sale soon....
  18. I'm getting a neoprene toe stitched into the left liner to give me more room there... It has a little more give than the boot liner itself, yet won't affect the performance of the boot any as the only thing getting cut is the toe area than a new toe area stitched back on in a neoprene fabric which has more elasticity.
  19. Liner-gate isn't going to work.... apparently my liner is a tad different after looking at it and it's just not going to happen... For now I'm just going to try it out with my old liners as they fit into the shell without any real bunching. Just for reference reasons... what's the deal with the intuition liners.. I hear that name everywhere but I have no idea what they are, etc.. I don't ski enough that spending time with a pro boot fitter is going to be worth it $$ wise.. The ski bum did a pretty damn good job matching me up with the shells, and honestly if the liners filled in that 1/2" gap between them and the shell they'd be spot on.. They've been punched out twice already (and heat stretched) and there's no more room for them to be stretched as they're stretched all the way to where the stiching is coming out from under the rubber sole part. It honestly comes down to the fact that they aren't long enough. FWIW...My ski boots are a 29.5 and I wear a 13 sneaker. Another liner option would not be a bad idea, but I'd need something that I can just buy and drop in there, not something that I'd be paying someone a lot of coin (and time) to get molded etc. I can only ski 20-25 days a year.. In reality by the time I'm done buying boots, liners, etc.. I know I could have just went and got custom ones, but whatever... Next time I'm up around Nestors I'll probably just stop in and try to get something done... but driving 1.5hrs. isn't something I want to do right now unless I'm skiing..
  20. Someone from AZ gave me a great tip on how to get a little more toe room... I'll try it tomorrow night after I pick up some supplies... FWIW... My left foot has always been jammed into the toebox of the liner even with the liner being out of the boot.. Also the liners on my boots are 1/2" shorter than the shell. There's room there for the liners to pack out and when they do they'll be even better.. I need to speed that process up a little bit on my left foot in the big toe area.. That's why I was considering using the liners from my other boots.. However the tip I got will work much better than my old liners and is definitely the direction I want to try first.. I know I'm being vague here, but the person that sent me the tip probably wants it kept private as it was sent to me in a pm.
  21. I've been to a podiatrist quite a few times... It's one of those things that keeps coming back... Not infected or anything like that, just get pain from it being sharp on the inside of the skin...
  22. I'll try to make this as short as possible... I've been suffering from an ingrown nail on my big toe and it puts me into absolute agony when it comes to my ski boots. The pain is coming from the liner being too tight lengthwise and not from shell.. My question is this.. I have a pair of Rossignol soft boots that are in a larger size (that's why I replaced them actually when I actually got fitted and realized that I was in too large of a boot.) Can I take the liner out of the rossi's and put them into my Dalbello's. I mean I know I can do it.. I tried it and it does fit into the shell, however the Rossi liners are a little taller in height than my Dalbello's are. With the Rossi liners in my Dalbello boots I don't get that pressure point on my toe which means no pain. So will this affect the performance of the boot any?? I've had the Dalbello liners stretched twice last season so stretching the liner further isn't an option.. I posted this over on AZ as well... just looking for an alternative to chopping my toe the hell off....lol
  23. Mad Props to JFBB for giving back to the community....
