  1. Being as I have 3 pairs of them that's pretty vague, not to mention I actually like those the best. NGP 190cm 145/115/132 30m turn radius Rory 183cm 140/113/130 24m turn radius First Bloods 180cm 123/ 91 /116 24.5m turn radius Obviously it would be between the NGP's and Rory's because there is overlap I use the First Bloods as my everyday ski over my PE's (which Mike has pretty much taken over) The NGP's are straight chargers and absolutely killer in the POW, and although I like them a little more than the Rory's they would probably be the ones that had to go simply because the Rory's are more versatile here on the east coast. (not that I'd ever really need them here) The Rory's have a much better turning radius with a soft tip and hard tail The NGP's are just plain rocket ships.... point them downhill, surf your ass off and hold the fuck on. They are fun as hell to ski on, especially in open bowls.
  2. Ok, so the last thing I really needed was yet another pair of skis, BUT... I just picked up a pair of 2009 189 K2 Obsethed 138/105/125 (much narrower than the current 117 waisted ones) I just couldn't pass them up, as I've had my eyes on both the Seth's and the Volkl Bridge's now for years. The 09-10 model seemed to fit my needs a little better, and the price was definitely why I made the jump. Now my wife is on me pretty hard to sell off at least some of my other skis... DOH... she's right though as usual. I simply have too much and I really don't need 4 sets of skis over 100 at the waist living in Pa.. lol
  3. I'm sure that there are quite a bit of people on here who have my list crushed, my list was for the poll not a competition.
  4. Mary Jane is in Winter Park
  5. FWIW... As far as the West goes, I've been to Jackson Hole, Grand Targhee, Keystone, Vail, Breckenridge, Winter Park, Copper, Steamboat, Heavenly, Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Squaw Valley (I think that's it....lol)
  6. I'm about 95% sure my mind is made up where I'm going....but anyway, the poll's are fun just to see what others think... I'm narrowing it down more to make it a little more even...
  7. I am not even close to being ready in all honesty. Guess I should dig my gear out of the basement at some point... Lol
  8. http://www.jfbb.com/explore/media/photo/2011/11/15/testing-water-lines-jack-frost Water lines tested, we're getting closer....
  9. I'd have ordered one for myself in a heartbeat if I wasn't committed to being at JF every weekend and I wasn't saving my remaining time off from work to go out west....
  10. That is a great deal....
  11. Everything anyone does or doesn't do involves some sort of risk. It is what we choose to do or not do which can minimize or maximize that risk. That is where decision making comes into play. What we can all agree to is that ultimately Jamie Pierre's decisions were what eventually led to his own demise. Whether or not we agree with his decisions is what's really up for debate. However with that being said, they were his decisions to make and whether we agree or disagree with his decisions is irrelevant as he had to live and die with his decisions the same way we all will with our own decisions. Let the man go wherever he goes in death and remember the good things, while making good decisions for yourself based on your own assessment of the situation. Negativity in death falls upon deaf ears and heavy hearts. R. I. P. Jamie.... I thank you for the attention that you brought to the sport we both loved in our own very different ways.
  12. That's funny, one of my ski poles broke when GSS tried shoving it up his ass. That was fine though because I really didn't want it back at that point anyway.
  13. By your post about the rain, I took it as you weren't going. Oh well.... Glad you had a good time.
  14. Got 15 min by into the 45 min trip and bailed. I didn't want to be the only one I knew there
  15. I'm on the way... You coming up or no Chippy?
  16. I'll probably be going but I won't recognize anyone so look out for me. I'm wearing a Blue Heavenly hoodie.
  17. You should probably start a jh trip thread with dates, etc to see who all is considering it. I don't think a lot of those mentioned have even been in this thread, so it's probably not going to get the attention needed. Just saying...
  18. I still don't have a clue what I want to do, but I am leaning towards going with everyone to JH. although I might kill myself having to listen to Doug preach about Blue mountain for a week. I usually love the whole logistics thing of figuring out where to go, what's the best deal, etc.. but I'm just not into it right now for some reason. JH makes it easy through central reservations and since it's one of those it is what it is type of places when it comes to pricing, I don't need to research the shit out of it to make sure I'm getting the best deal possible...lol I'm sure I could wait it out and find some uber cheap deal in Colorado or something, but I just don't feel like going back there yet again. I haven't been back to Jackson since I was there in 06' and it has stood near the top even compared to everywhere I've been in the past 5 years. I REALLY want to get to Utah and ski snowbird/alta and maybe toss somewhere else into the mix and I really don't need any nightlife as I'm really only there to ski, grab some shirts, patches, eat some good food, and be on my way. OK, well obviously I can't make a decision to save my life and even my wife is getting annoyed with me at this point.. "WTF, John just pick a damn place how hard is it?"
  19. ahhhh...sick might have to find a way to make this happen....
  20. Toast is pretty damn cool in my book and I'm far from a jibhonk. I meant no disrespect to Jamie whatsoever, I really just feel bad for the family he left behind. He died doing what he loved to do and he could've died yesterday in a car accident on the way to the mountain just as easily I guess. I just hate to see these icons in the industry keep dying in droves year after year.... it's a dangerous sport, but smarter decisions can be made. Especially when there is a high avalanche risk, an avalung, beacon, probe, etc.. wasn't going to save him but his death was in fact due to trauma he received because of the slide. The whole thing just sucks.....
  21. Yet another professional skier dead at an early age. (38) He landed on his head on that targhee jump too. He was known for having more balls than brains which can be said for most pro Freeskiers I guess. I feel bad for his family.. R. I. P. Jamie
  22. Southwest has PHL-SLC round trip right now for $329.80 Rather tempting considering I also have a $25 voucher for southwest that is worthless after January 2012
  23. If I were to go to Utah, I'd lean more towards Snowbird, Alta, Solitude, and Brighton than anything else... Tahoe would be Squaw, Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows, and Heavenly Jackson Hole would be only Jackson Hole. Maybe I should just go ski Taos since noone seems to go there....(also on my list but not near the top)
  24. I'm still undecided..... Leaning heavily towards jackson hole though.
  25. I wasn't even that high on the chart at 6'1" and 330 freaking pounds and I ride markers man..... Lol
