i just got back yesterday, conditions were fantastic, especially at opening times. oh and brookside park is possibly in the best shape ever. summit was ok, the wind blew the good stuff away or to the sides...cant wait to go back up this weekend :rock -yea, slides 3 and 4 are gnarly...you can easily see them on the way up the summit quad, if u want to do those 2, bring ice skates instead of skis
-
yea especially the "suspects" please, and the volkl walls, and if possible the ar6, if thats what its still going to be called next season
-
ouch, made that mistake last season, anyway im up usually on weekends lurking in the rhodo park/lower moores park, i use volkl walls, salomon zero pants(white, with brown patterns), brown orage jacket, custom crowbars, i take it ur a tennis player as well?
-
im 6'2 170lbs and use the 177cm volkl wall, possibly the best ski i have ever purchased. they have an 87mm waist, so u can ski pow with them somewhat, but also makes them good for bumpy landings, medium stiff, i cranked my DIN up a bit so i could butter with them a bit better, the sidewalls are softer than the karmas, so they wont crack when i do rails, oh and its perfectly symetrical, i have them dead center mounted and they rock both switch and forwards. possibly the best park/all mtn ski you can buy for the east coast.
-
skullcandy, salomon ski, and orage looked the best to me, tj schillers jacket is dope as hell, and the new SPK pro boots with the white leather look sexy, dont know much about snowboarding so all i could say is ski
-
get the armada ARG, possibly the best pipe/park ski EVER, 185cm long, 125mm wide, no more worries when it comes to bumpy landings, oh and make sure u get sally STH 16 bindings and crank them all the way, ull be able to butter like a madman! -im kidding
-
the salomon spk kreation, they are cheaper than the regular spk, but blue, also have a softer feel and more flexable shell, its actually intended for the up and coming park rat, and price wise u can probably get them for 250 right now

Ski Jumping at Camelback on Friday Jan 25
sirfrancisbacon9 replied to skilift's topic in General Chat
whenever i go to whiteface, which is pretty much every weekend, they have the park crew stand on the table part of the jumps, so if u crash they can signal the people about to drop to not go, (and to rake the landing so it stays clean) but this is only in the big park on brookside. however getting back to camelback, wtf is up with the trains of racer kids going into the parks and snaking the lines? come on i know its fun to watch those kids overshoot each jump without any regard for their own well being, but when a bunch of them cut off ur little brother whos learning how to jump for the first time, its freaking ridiculous. i was teaching my little bro how to jump in the lower moores ramble park and as he's going up the first jump and a bunch of rats in speed suits come barreling arounding him, almost causing a mid-air collision, im not hating on racers or anything because it could have been anybody, but rules have to be followed, especially in any park, or else they could have some severe consequences, luckily nothing happened this time. -
not really, you just have to look at the schedules of events of the mountains, hunter has a good one i like to compete it, its in march called the telemet 42 lat, it has a big air, quarterpipe, and a rail jam, camelback jut had the no pro pipe contest this past sunday, and a whole other rail jams, my home mountain whiteface has tons of events, and if u think ur up for it try the vt open, or the telus event in tremblant, and if ur under 16 u can try the salomon jib academy, just look up the dates and places

are you joking? ive been skiing for my 2nd season, learning a switch octo isnt too shabby
-
single jump size?
-
wow such a nasty switch octo from gagnier, im learning it this weekend no doubt
-
hahah "joeys" i love that word...anyway, who is ready for BIG AIR TONIGHT!!!!!!! how about that 85ft+ channel gap. My money is on Jon or Charles, since TJ is out due to a tore ACL, thankfully both jon and gagnier are on my FFL team! :wiggle

I went nuts on Simon's 20ft hit, and I totally agree with papasteeze when it came towards the crowd. What was up with them throwing snowballs at tanner? However I do think jossi was def robbed, his final run was so sick
-
well the thing with andreas is that he was probably the lowest of any of the skiers, and im sure the judges need a default for the amplitude since it is a category, however ampltude does not outweight number of hits, style, tech, landings, etc
