i've been using these at work for over a year. They have great sound for an earbud. They're pretty comfortable. Unfortunately I can't elaborate on their performance on the ski slopes. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-E828LP-Font...5325&sr=8-3

Dr. D, It looks like the ski man hobby vise isn't on your site anymore...what happened? do you still have it for the everything kit? i hope to purchase this tonight. if you put in a different vise, is it an upgrade or a downgrade?
-
Makes sense....I was unaware.

They put back the trail map with the names for each trail: http://www.skicamelback.com/images/trailma...h%20Ledgend.jpg

liftguy didn't you say they were coming to set up the park today? are you gonna be running these responses out there so they can change things to what nick and steve said?

I'd be pissed if they opened the Connector and counted that as one of the 5 trails.

indeed. i'm recovering from either a partially torn or strained meniscus (they couldnt really tell me, the MRI reading said partial tear but the ortho didnt think so). i think i initially did something to it in late July riding my bike but aggravated it in october playing football. I was happy with my session at Blue on friday night, but i couldn't do the bumps or hit any of the stuff on the side of Lazy....i tried one little jump on Lazy and it definitely didn't feel good... 1 week is bullshit, but it's probably not a season ender this early in the season.
-
i noticed this a few weeks ago, but i don't really ski much at CB and i didn't feel like e-mailing them about it they used to have the numbers...this seems like a really silly mistake for their web guys to let slip by.

Doesn't the JFBB website specifically list the thunderbolt glades as open?

I'm a proponent of Sno mountain. People down here in Philly know that you can head up to the Poconos to ski, but most people just head up once or twice a year and it doesn't matter where they go. Whenever I'm telling people about the different ski areas, I always make a point to bring up Sno. Most people down here don't know about it, and didn't know much about Montage. I visited Sno twice last year and definitely intend to return this year.

The Morning Report for Monday December 10, 2007
stever2003 replied to SkiCamelback's topic in Camelback
Ya. With the low vert and slow lifts I won't go there without some sort of discount. I'm trying to get up there for WMMR's day off at the slopes because i can teach my gf at a low price, but that will probably be it. Otherwise, I'll frequent Blue. Camelback has a good student rate too, I'll probably head there once, and I need to hit up Sno at least once. -

Where did you find the $40 college rate for JFBB? That looks like their regular midweek rate. I was looking on their site for a student discount this morning and couldn't find anything except for the Wednesday night College night w/ $10 tickets....I have class wednesday night though. Last year their student discount days were Tuesday and Thursday, I think it was like $10 off and came to about $28-30. -
the bottom of that stairway looked like it was awesome for your board. All the ski areas should screw snowmaking and just lay down a 2 inch base.

Otherwise, does that everything - deluxe kit cover all the equipment i need to get the job done? Thanks for the help btw. I like to know everything detail when I make a big purchase (or in this case, when a big purchase is made for me).
-
ya, that def helps. Is there any way I can get away with just one brush? The everything kits on racewax come with just a nylon brush. Everything - Deluxe

Hey everyone. I was looking to get the tools for tuning last year, but money didn't hold up. Now i'm gonna have my parents get me the gear for christmas, and I need to figure out exactly what to get.Dr. D, I know we were talking a while back, maybe you can jump in here and help me out.http://www.racewax.com/servlet/the-Tuning-...shes/CategoriesLooking at the kits, I think I'm looking to get the Deluxe tuning kit over the Quality tuning kit. It looks like the Deluxe kit adds a diamond stone, the better edger, and a brake retainer to the Quality kit. Is this edger significantly better than the one in the Quality kit? Does it use a metal file or is the diamond stone used to file the edges? (or both?) It seems that in addition to this kit, I'll also need an iron, a vise, and brushes. Is this correct? Are there any other parts that I should purchase up front?I will probably purchase a household iron later...i know it needs to be variable temperature, is there anything else I should know for it?Vise: Is the vise absolutely necessary, or is it just one of those things that makes tuning easier? If it is necessary, is there something I could rig up to do the same thing? This Ski Man vise looks like a good system...any thoughts? http://www.racewax.com/servlet/the-239/Vis...t%2C-Ski/Detail Which brushes should I get? Most seem to be soft (nylon, horsehair). What do I use a brass brush for? This kind of brush seems like it would damage the base. It seems like the main upgrade in the Deluxe kit is the edger, so would I be better off getting the Quality Ski Tuning Kit (1201) + Wax (219, 221) + Brush (1415) for $69.99, or the Quality Ski Tuning Kit (1201)+Wax (219, 221)+Brush (1415)+Cork (1002)+Fluoro (101) for $77.99? It seems like I would want to add a diamond stone to one of these upgraded quality kits, or I could get the deluxe kit and add a brush and some wax. What is the cork for? What is the best choice for me to make? If I went ahead and bought this now, I would probably get: Deluxe Ski Tuning Kit, $69.99 Some sort of brush, ~$12 Add the red diamond stone, ~$8 necessary, a vise, ~$65 for a total of about $150. I'd rather not get the vise if its not absolutely necessary to help keep costs down...would it be possible for me to hold off on the vise till my birthday in march? Also, are there any other tuning tools I should add? I'm looking to get just what I need to take care of my edges and hot wax right now. Also, at ski shops they say they'll do the binding check at the beginning of the season. What does this entail, how can I go about doing it myself? Thanks,Steve

ah ha! "Camelback will have up to 18 trails open on Saturday" no guarantees there
-
the morning call? whats that? that pic looks sweet though. also, theres lots of snow on homestretch on the webcam, that'll def be ready to go soon.
-
nice pics i'll prolly be there for the night session tomorrow.
-
indeed. btw, the blue webcam has stopped working for me (as of yesterday, i believe). anyone else having this trouble?
-
Technically, the Poconos are a huge plateau, and not actually mountains.
-
where the hell are there heated sidewalks? psu? its been snowing all day here. about 2 hours ago i learned the hard way to wear glasses when i ride my bike when its snowing out.
-
since theyre not open, my guess is fresh snow, with new tracks to be made.
-
Ya, last year they had half price tickets on Saturday, December 9, 2006. I remember it clearly...like I said before I skipped my work's holiday party to go up that day. Paid $18 instead of the student rate (at that time) of $36 for a weekend.
