Im gonna guess they're closing so they can rebuild the parks, The rain has wiped out a lot of snow around the rails making them unstable. Needless to say the lips are getting pretty bad too.

Today is one to be put in the HISTORY BOOKS. Frost had amazing snow, First tracks in the morning were in about 4 inch's min and it snowed about an inch an hour all day. I really hope they don't touch the snow at all on Challenge, the winds will level out the snow on the trails. Headed over to Boulder at 2 for first tracks, and what i found was Dumbfounding. KNEE TO MID THIGH DEEP POWDER AT BOULDER!!! IM NOT JOKING!It was RIDICULOUS! Lack of Pitch was a major issue, But SNOWDRIFT was an abundance of Fun. I haven't slashed turns that plastered my face with snow since i was out west. Roads are pretty bad but My jeep did work on the roads today. If you see a snowboarding in a peacock green Airblaster Jacket and Black Airblaster pants, That would be me.

there is only one thing i hate about this comp, and thats the fact that there is a womens combined category. I believe that you should never combine skiing and snowboarding into the same judgement level. What scores higher (using amplitude, style, difficulty judging) a 540 on skis or 540 on a snowboard? can you really get fair judging? I guess i also feel this way because i don't feel snowboarding should really be judged, Im more of a film type rider rather than a comp rider. I Don't really agree with snowboarding being an Olympic sport either, But everyones entitled to their own opinion.

Blakeslee basically has its own Climate. It can be raining all around to the east west north and south, but we still might be getting snow at JFBB. And whats even more surreal is the difference in climates in Blakeslee. At times it might be sleeting in my higher elevation development, but it could be Freezing raining down on 940 going towards 476. I like taking my chances at Jack Frost, a lot of the time we get fairly lucky when temps are marginal.

You missed out on Great Conditions today if you didn't head over to east. Now i cant tell you how Floyd's or River Shot was, but Elevator Upper Glade, and Elevator was where it Was AT TODAY! Awesome Conditions on Elevator, the Cliffs are almost gone they are now roller-esk. The Snow was soft fluffy and move-able, Every turn was followed by a nice spray of snow flying down the slope. Elevator today really made me happy after the past few bullet proof ice days. I may have to bow down the snow makers at JF, they are blowing snow that might make mother nature Jealous. On another Note, Elevator is getting a lot of action, and Some Skiers and Boarders are not Respecting the Power a steep slope has and are getting bucked down the drops. Also Ive seen some close calls on some kids falling back seat and sliding soo close to going all the way down elevator from River Shot. I think JF or Ski Patrol NEEDS to put up a wooden gate, or the orange temp gates so people are aware the side on river shot drops off... Some people are just too cocky or ignorant when if comes to their skiing ability and get in way too deep over on the east side. The Over Population on East may be in correlation to the opening in the woods to the East lift. You No Longer have to go through the East Mountain Access Trail to reach the lift, you can just cut right through challenge and Visitors may not know what that lift accesses.

Haha, yea... i was a man on a mission. It payed off tho, in health and stoke! As for snow coverage. I really think that with blow over from the Risk It Guns, Elevator might see some coverage from the man made snow. Those guns on Risk it face Elevator. Now for the elevator glade to be ski-able. Im thinking were gonna need about a 12 inch's of hard pack base, then some fresh snowfall around 6 inch's and it should be good to go for the die-hards. FYI- Guns were added to where the Exhibition Moguls Were.

Due to my curiosity on how the new glade clearance looked, i decided to go on a little hike. And this is what i found... A BEAST OF A TRAIL! This is inside the Heart of the Elevator Glade. This Glade is going to be HEAVY! Its Steep, its got Cliffs, and not to mention Trees! If this trail were to be marked, im pretty sure it would be a Double Black... i cant wait to hit up this glade! You might just want to re-evaluate not wearing a helmet on this one...
