Doug, Virginia has lift served grass skiing!!! 100% correct. I live it almost daily Ha, that sounds like a great weekend. My wife won't race until I find her a Slovenian speed suit circa the 1998 Olympics in Nagano...it was tie dye.

Method, you should find a way to make money off your pipe knowledge. Just a thought.

Awwww, the poor little babies getting picked on. You think you and the other poor teenagers will ever survive? Nfgdrummer21, when you build a career and end up owning properties in three states, then come talk to me about having a life. Until then, you're just another little flamer. I'm in the process of raising a second ski racer and spend 10 hours a day Photoshopping on my computers, so you just don't know what the fuck you're talking about, do you?

I saw lots of high school wrestling and swimming in Sunday's paper. A team picture of the 1965 West Scranton High School basketball team. A full page dedicated to a minor league hockey team. And of a mention of anything having to do with snow. Newspaper sports editors are pathetic.

Just to fill you in, you must have missed the threads where they all punked out on showing their shit off in person. Funny how that happens.

I love that NS is where you hang out and troll for kids to video, Rob. This post sums up the NS 'vibe': "sno is so gay, it is not opening the super pipe till sunday what the fuck is that. why wouldnt you want to have something open on satuerday. the whole vibe from the mountain is gay. oh and from the pictures there wont be enough grade for the Pipe either fuckin gay guess i will be at boulder." :rofl

IDK, I'm just thinking there are a crapload of people who'd kill to live three minutes from Elk. You're def BB billboard material, son. Not that it's a bad thing. Just sayin'...

If you hit the magnifying glass with a + sign (show image at it's original size), it isolates it from the script and then you can just right click to save it. Did I say that right?
-
You drive 140 miles round trip instead of four? You must really hate Elk or really love those BB jumps. Man, if you ski/ride just 50 days, that's an extra $1000 in gas. You should be on a BB billboard.

Man, you don't quit PASR for very long. Just to explain: Lib is a friend of mine. I don't know him all that well, but I'd have his back over anything. If Lib were to drink a bottle of vodka and drive off a bridge, I'd come pick him up and let him hide out at my house until the heat was off (again). Lib spelled Brian's name wrong. He spelled it "Brain". He said he met Brain today. Still with me? To keep things light and to show Lib respect as a mod (and I do believe I've mentioned he's my favorite mod---no offense to all the second tier mods out there) after he told me to chill with a hater, I made a joke. Making a joke after a mod slaps you is a way of saying "Okay". Still with me? The scarecrow was looking for a brain. It was a movie. Something about a bitchy aunt and a tornado. So, before all this recent jealousy and hate on Sno, we used to be able to joke around and not worry about pissing off friends. Like when Jeffy just posted some hate on me in a racing thread. Jeffy can call me whatever he wants and I can do the same. And it's a lot more fun around here when there aren't people simple looking to hate. Think about it: if the BB and BC crew that never ski/ride Sno weren't flaming about Sno, then would any of this shit ever have gone down?

I'm not grumpy. I've been having the best ski days ever. I couldn't give a crap about cop killing redneck clans...I'm a little worried about our girl (Nicole Hosp) being 54 points behind Vonn, though. What's up with that? Yes and yes.

For waxing, it's kind of like asking how often you should take a shower. Really. If you ski a long hard seven hour day, then your bases will be mostly depleted of wax after one outing. If you want to keep your bases in optimal shape, then they should be waxed every couple of times out. Check your bases for any white material. This is your base drying out and, well, falling off. Your bases are like a sponge and need to soak in the wax, then slowly release it as you ski. It's always best if you pick up a cheap iron for $15-$20 and some basic hydrocarbon wax (from racewax.com, of course). It takes five minutes to hot wax a pair of skis and a lot cheaper than a shop. 2nd best thing to do is use a paste/rub on. It doesn't last more than a few runs, but will keep your bases more healthy than if you used nothing. How often you tune is also dependent on how hard you ski, as well as the conditions. Skiers in Utah can tune once or twice a season (soft snow), while I tune once a day. The more you ski your new skis, the more you'll recognize when you need a tune. Try once every seven ski days. If by the seventh day you're edges don't grab, then make it six days. You shouldn't be getting rusty edges. Dry your skis. If you leave them in a place where they are getting rusty, then other bad stuff will happen. Rust will come off with a tune and it will also ski off. But that means your edge material is oxidizing...eh, disappearing. That's bad, since you only have just so much edge material. If you can't change where you keep your skis, wax will seal the moisture out. Keep a bit of wax where you store them and just coat your metal edges real quick. Even a candle will do. The wax will ski right off, btw. Waxing your edges is also a great way to summer store them. Bottom line: hot wax every three ski days (at least); tune every 7 to 10 days (at least). If you want to get into tuning your own skis, there are several people on here who are more than happy to run you through the basics.

You don't have one? (meant to add: )
-
It won't hurt to have a shop guy take a look. But as long as there's no separation of the layers and the edge is intact, your ski probably looks like a lot of people's on this MB. I've heard a lot of people using a touch of Super Glue as a quick sealant.

I bet when the head of the park crew said 'let's do it on Upper Runaway', people thought he was nuts.
-
No prob, Rat. It's cool for Upper Runaway to get used for something like that. And it really gives you respect for people who specialize in skier/boardercross.
-
Probably not if it's just topsheet, but a pic would get you good feedback. Moisture is what kills your core.
