Oh, man, a coach just called my answering machine and said it was postponed because of icing. Icing? Like on a cake?
-
I'd say good luck, but it's more important to simply go out and kick and beat the sh*t out of every gate. Ski fast. Ski really freakin' fast!

Every ski patrol guy I've met--or raced with-- at CB has been cool. Even the 120 year old guy. Every Ranger I've ever been around at CB has been a dick. That's just my experience, but I've spent a lot of days and nights over the years there before DaveK was the final straw in me hating the place.

No, the kid. I definitely wish the photogs well and they do a good job, but we have enough pics and I don't plan on spending $8 for a 4x6...
-
Yeah, thanks Line...

Wow, I just got back from going to a game south of you, RacerChick...Rt. 380 and 80 were pretty cool with all the icy trees hanging over the edge of the roads. Cars and trucks had sheared them off. The army depot in Tobyhanna was lit up and looked like the whole place was made of glass. Losing power sucks. We're on a bad grid and lose it 1/2 dozen times every summer. Seems like every electrical storm. My folks are near Margaritaville and just lived in their swimming pool when they lost power from the hurricanes.

I tried a Google search, but because Montage is also a photo term, you get thousands of bad results. I assume you know, but he sets up in lodge at the desk to the left of the fireplace and new couches.

It's 240 vert on Lake Ontario in NY. The only reason anyone has heard of it outside of Rochester is if they are racers chasing early season points. Pennsylvania/NJ kids go up because there are some really good racers from NY that---if you can get your time close to theirs---improve your start number when you come back home. Nice shots of the course, 'Dude. Getting psyched about Sunday's SL?

Two dorky guys. One is still driving because he's going far away to Vermont; the other is a happy dork because he's already skiing, doing thumbs up and crap. They shot in front of a low budget blue screen, so it's really fake looking. They keep doing cut backs and the guy driving keeps getting more angry, while the other guy is just getting happier. The happy one is kind of a cross between the flamer guy on Will & Grace and the nerd on Saved by the Bell. I think they were trying to be over the top funny, but it's just really, really stupid.
-
He went of a few racers in front of you? Nick?

I felt violated after seeing it the first time. I had to wash. What the Hell were they thinking?

Taking down fencing and closed signs and starting up the groomers while still running kids up that lift? Ha! Sounds like an awesome video game. Are squishing twin-tipppers worth the same as boarders or a CAT? BTW, CB is open until the last GUEST is off the snow.
-
I just did a quick 10 runs at Montage and the snow is as thick and heavy as it gets. BUT it really helped the base. Grass is gone and some of the stones are burried a little deeper. What a pain in the butt shoveling this crap...
-
"He said it was clearly marked and that the fence had been dragged in the woods by someone." His arguement was over at this point. He needed to go put the fence back and tell you to have a nice night. Period.

You can suggest it even in your official capacity. You can't hold insomniac's dog hostage until he does it, but you can readily suggest he go out and plaster every stationary surface on Earth.
-
But then they gang up on you and out of fear you back down? Way to show them! I don't know, man, but I'd have hung onto that kid's season pass and pulled out a night stick and cracked some skulls. G*dda*mn loiterers in Colorado go to prison---we need some laws like that! Still there at 10:30pm and you get you b*lls cut off!

Five inches of snow topped by 1/2 inch of ice. It makes snowballs that are lethal.
-
I thought about the downside of it Jib, but then I thought about all the places the Greatful Dead bears and peace sign stickers have ended up...as long as nobody is stickering shut fire hydrants, then them if they can't take a joke.
-
Sorry, Think, but years from now I'll be on some message board posting nasty things about that guy after what he did. Not that I hold a grudge...
-
For those that missed it:

Montage just got an inch or two from the first round. Except for Smoke, the diamonds are ungroomed masses of uneven moguls...kind of interesting on race skis. Some guys were building an enormous jump on Cannonball and the landing was looked like it was in the middle of a bump run.
-
The sleet to snow line is Rt. 84. Our schools are closed. We have two inches and it's snowing lightly. They are calling for heavy snow tonight with 8-14 inches total. Tanglwood and, hopefully, Montage should get this pretty good.

Just got back from a few runs tonight and discovered this MB has it's own personalized cafeteria table where the pool table used to be. The white background sticker actually looks pretty sharp on the white table tops. Does that table have to be reserved?

Hey, you can find Ski Patrol jackets on EBay pretty cheaply. But then, remember the Spongebob when Larry the Lobster mistook Spongebob for a lifeguard and left him in charge of Goo Lagoon? Patrick nearly died...
