'Dude, I think it just SEEMS like people know what they are doing out West, but it's just an illusion of space. At CB, there are 347 skiers/boarders per square inch; out in Utah, there are 3 per square mile. Well, give or take. Take a look at Marjie's on a busy Saturday at 11am...picture that many people coating a slope at A Basin. It would look utterly ridiculous. You'd have to be insane to jump into that mess.

Yeah, they would have closed and bolted your school if asbestos was found or every one of you stupid teenagers (just quoting Skierforever) would be worth a small fortune to your parents in an asbestosis lawsuit. Of course, the magnesium silicate exposure causes a really miserable death, so you wouldn't get to enjoy the money. Ah, the things I'd buy...

CB is 40 miles of back roads from here; Blue is 60 or so. People around Lake Walenpaupack ski Tanglwood, which overlooks the lake, and then drive over to Montage or up to Elk for more vertical. I don't think I've ever met someone up here that's ever skied Blue, except to race.

We have gates and armed patrols. We are uneggable. I am, however, sitting in your lake house living room right now. I notice that you have an incredible number of dirty magazines and cans of tuna fish. But you need bread.

Big Bear doesn't even advertise locally. It's about 20 minutes from my house and I've never seen anything about it other than a little brochure that was a few years old. Costa's Family park---the ad on their main page-- has great batting cages, though, with a home run fence. We hit there three or four times a week.

I've been there when they've started at the top of the headwall and some years at the bottom. So I guess conditions dictate, although it's been about a dozen years since I raced it.

'Dude, in a few years, the Montage race team will be looked upon as today's Austrian team. Currently, there are at least a half-dozen fathers up here cracking their whips, trying to relive their own childhoods. Our kids can have fun later; it's 10:30pm and time for her sit-ups.

Yeah, a 4-year-old Montage racer won Sunday's Overall NASTAR National Championship. We saw them practicing down the Montage race trail quite a bit on the days prior to Nationals...

It's Killington. And only over-privledged son's of US Senators and tabacco farmers such as Atomic get to take airplanes to Killington. The rest of us drive.

Maybe sometime around next Wednesday someone will yell "Road trip!" and we'll see who'se in...
