I didn't say I was going to do it, just that I found Daves threat idiotic. When they set up the CB MB, I wonder at what point they decided it would be appropriate to threaten trespassing arrest for people that piss of the moderators? Jeez, what a fun atmosphere for lively debate! And, Sib, I thought the flame war with SnowSnow was, uh, creative.

The ski area in our community. We've had to hike it for a month now. I'm REALLY looking forward to using lifts on Saturday in NY.

Yeah, the East side has only thin ribbons of snow, but the West side still looks pretty skiable. Where the trails are narrow and stay in the shade, the snow is pretty deep. Imagine all the props CB would have gotten for keeping a lift going and a trail stockpiled with snow...and our ski hill welcomes anyone who wants to hike for turns; the Daves threaten PROSECUTION if you wanna hike.

Firstly, if I want to go to the DaveK board and PM every single person with this or any other URL, I will and he can go screw if he doesn't like it. PM means PERSONAL MESSAGE the last time I heard. He's gonna tell me I can't send a PERSONAL message about web sites and other message boards? His recourse is to ban me (as it were), not some absurd legal threat. What a f*ing Nazi-ass jerk. Ha, not sure I count as being not banned, since they simply gave up in frustration and fear of SnowSnow finding out how to beat their system. Man, weather up there sure changed from nice to insane. What's the parking like now? I heard they made some changes after some scumbags started looting. Which route were you planning to ski? Was anyone coming off the lip in that wind?

But Jib and Atomic, there's a bigger issue here and just hear me out as food for thought. Ever hear a disclaimer before a radio show? Or before a TV info-mercial? "The views of the following program are not necessarily the views of the station or it's advertisers..." The views and actions of the members of this board are not necessarily the views and actions of the administrators of this board. The Daves were way out of line both legally and ethically by threatening the administrators of this board for the actions of it's members. It is not their place to demand you take responsibility for MY views and actions. As this board's administrators, you are welcome to ban me if I piss you off. It's your board. But if I want to post links to this site, or Al Jezeera, you aren't in ANY way responisible. The Daves actions were terroristic in spirit. I really think that what you've done by posting the "request" not to flame is appropriate and more than enough. If the popularity of this board continues to grow through next ski season, do you really want the grey hairs involved in "thought policing"? Of course not. I respect what you do here, guys. It's a very cool alternitive. It works. I'm not being critical, I'm just telling you that teenage snowboarders and jibbers are funny and NOT your responsibilty at all.

Belleayre was good with SL or bump skis. The headwalls down the front side had lots of snow where they usually have good mogul runs, but the connecting trails were gravel pits. I could see them open through April.

The dream MB for CB and the Daves would be filled with posts like these: "Can you rent skis at Camelback?" "Does Camelback make snow?" "Today was awesome! And no lines?" "Can you buy food at Camelback?" And although it's a little boarderline: "My favorite run is Nile Mile? What's your's?" Their MB is a PR tool. DaveK said exactly that one of the times he banned me. I mean, WTF, how can you have a real skiing MB and not be allowed to even mention another mountain? The CB MB will live on with Skierforever, Jolly Jerk, and Satan all giving their wise opinions to DaveK pretending to be a newbie needing help.

Speaking of Jolly Jake, has anyone ever seen the old CB instructor with grungy long hair and beard that is always hanging out with a foreign teenage boy that wears a wicked-gay one piece ski suit? I guess I got the impression that the old-guy instructor was a school teacher that took in Russian teenage boy exchange students, or something along those lines. And then hangs out with them every minute of the day. Every day. Like, uh, really close and all. Someday, I'm hopin' my wife lets us take in Russian teenage girl exchange students. And I'll teach them to ski. See how I kept that on topic?

Hmmmm, I dunno...I can't quote the USSA handbook off hand, but it sure does say something pretty specific about no alcohol, except over 21 and ONLY at specific types of functions (frat parties weren't included). The penalty was something lik a one year suspension. Sounds like a very dry collegiate experience for the Dude.

They broadcast a 30 minute highlight special on, I believe, NBC back when Nationals were held at Beaver Creek. And that was when there were 1/2 as many people racing.
