WOOOHOOO! Looks like our little guy made the podium!

Went up for an afternoon ticket at Elk, planning to catch the last lift of the year up at 4:30...after three hours, though, I was toast. Despite thin spots and ponds of water here and there, Elk could stay open for a couple of weeks with the cooler temps forecast. One crappy thing: while all the students got $10 tickets, adults paid full price ($45, or $35 for half day). What ever happened to late season rates?

Park City's regular daily NASTAR results are posted, but not National Championships...I'm guessing they'll be posting them after Sunday's races, since age groups and divisions are all separated.

Holy, crap!!!! Poor Skifamily...skimom's race was cancelled today and the 'dude had to run through a wet snowstorm. http://www.nastar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=228

Hey, ole2planker, we made the Forbes list and have some really cool people coming to join us soon. A little jealous? Hmmm?:
-
Actually, it's until 4:30pm...student tickets are $10 through the end. Lots of the runs wind through the trees, which keeps the sun off and the snow on. It'll be a good way to end the local season.

Elk's daily pic...open 'til Sat. @ 5pm:

It's near Tanglwood... I dunno, Missy, her head always seemed a normal size, but now that you mention it...it's a small or XS helmet with inserts that make it a little smaller.

The ski area has it's own staff. Part-time lifties and snow makers, etc. The ski school is actually one of the few ammenities that makes money. We have two Areco guns and a few tripod guns; actually more than needed, but they spend to the budget. The building at the top right is the new lodge, which is pretty nice, but we only skied at our hill a couple of times when it was open this year. Much more fun to poach.

Yeah, she skied right through it; she squeals when she hits ice or something like this. Conditions are actually pretty good at the top. It's getting to the top that wears you down after a while. especially with 31 lbs. on your shoulders.

Those were brand new Atomic Race:5 ski bases that sliced through those rocks and mud like butter.
-
Things are getting sketchy in spots.

Yes, but some of my friends went to Nationals and planned to ski different areas before the race days, but decided the conditions sucked too bad to waste their time. They are just hanging out at the PC NASTAR course practicing instead...thought Dude might do the same.

So Missy, has he called? He was all cocky when he left, saying he wasn't nervous, but Park City just set a record for consecutive high temps... ~~~~ For the casual observer, Skidude is at Park City for the NASTAR Nationals. He'll take two runs Friday and two runs Saturday. Each run will have a handicap, or percentage he's slower than the pacesetter. They'll take the best handicap from each day and average it together. Last year, there were only about six guys in the division he's racing in, so an Eastern skier that's used to crappy conditions has a decent shot, although The Dude is a heavy underdog. A Top 3 will get him on the podium and big kisses and stuff from current and former US Ski Team racers. ~~~~

Hahahahahahaahaha!!!! Thanks, dude, that was an EXCELLENT addition to an otherwise great day! [...she had publicized the event with an added enticement: a $5,000 scholarship to the student participant who raised the most money. "Unfortunately, we actually lost about $1,100," Reynolds reported following the event."] I was laughing so hard I didn't catch what the charity was...

Freddy Got Fingered. Classic flick. I learned so much from that film.
-
Well, there was an elevator involved.
-
Er, okay...Japan Four, Jib.
-
I'm never insulted.
-
Hey, Jib, was that (Oklahoma) a reference to my man, Preston?
-
Whips rule! And c'mon, Missy, what could possibly go wrong?
-
Well, he still has that plane ride home, Missy...
-
Aaaah, Skidude can take it.

Naw, that was another girl. F*ing dog used to sleep in bed and whine and fart really nasty. Dog had big bug eyes and used to shake all the time. If you yelled at it, it pissed a little. Just like Skidude! ~heheheheh~ Not here to defend himself.
