  1. I wasn't planning on a TR, but since reading how sugary/granular Blue was.... Ty and I pulled in at our usual 7:40am, then shuttled to the lodge where she got ready to meet her team. By 8am, the buses rolled in with tons of kids. Sno sold a lot of tickets today and was surprisingly busy. The only lift lines were from bunches of patrollers, but every once in a while there would be a dozen kids crashing on a headwall you had to wait for. Long Haul had at least 20 or 30 empty chairs between people. I usually don't waste much time on Smoke, but it was the best run of the day, followed by WL. The snow started just as we arrived and it continued pretty steady through the entire day, accumulating an inch or so on the warm ground and maybe adding as much as two inches to the groomed surface. Upper Runaway and Upper Fast Track were pretty good because of the new snow----big turns on the cord. The only sugar was down around the Phoebe lift where you had to be careful if you were flying down from skier's right of the lift. I ran into Melissa a few times, but she's not my friend anymore and won't talk to me. It was a great day, with some great snow...
  2. The mstinc site now has team results posted for the 2nd week. We won by just .19 points

Yep. I just called and confirmed it. Makes sense, especially with the proximity to Greek Peak in NY and MC in Joisey.
  4. A classic narcissist like you believes everything they say. But just because you say something, Rob, doesn't make it a fact. And once you posted my home phone number and encouraged kids to threaten my wife, you lost any of your credibility of claiming to be a victim. That's too funny. I have to ask this question though: home schooled by whom? Rob, it's spelled 'THEIR'. I'm really not a stickler about grammar and spelling, but at least get that one correct. So that was their homework? Really, Rob? You sent your kids to school to have their teacher log onto PASR and then look up my posts? You are so full of crap. You made that up. Lastly, I'll back out of this thread and let it get back onto it's angry topic. But I have friends who work at BC and hope you guys can figure out how to get along on the slopes without jumping on each other or threatening to bring guns.
  5. Rob, stop being a douche bag. Do you know how much you're starting to sound like Don King?
  6. No, hate doesn't work in surfing. Too many Cali surfers are wannabe gangsters. And you are wrong about starting shit. I just call out people on dumbass posts. BTW, just out of curiosity, since you say I start shit "all the time" how about backing that post up with a few times I started shit. Lets see some examples of where I actually started it.

  8. Dan, I know it sounds like I'm starting shit, but I'm really not. I'm just trying to say that there's no way to bully other skiers or riders into doing what you want. It ALWAYS ends up bad and with fights. MC was a perfect example, with a dozen police calls every weekend day. I have a friend who is a high school race team coach who had his team leave the mountain permanently because of the fighting. I visited a friend two summers ago to surf in Southern California. If you tried to catch a wave that a local was dropping in on, you got beat up. The locals feel like they own the ocean. Aside from official policies like park passes, there is no real answer to 'patrolling' the slopes. 13 yr old park rats can't be in charge of telling paying customers where to ski/board. In the Poconos, we're all skiing and riding the same 'introductory' terrain open to everyone, unless it's closed off for comps/races. Did BC really tell park kids to police the parks themselves? I can't even picture that. Management's only effective option is to have Rangers or patrollers do it. Park crews just have to fix lips just like NASTAR course workers just have to tolerate people who dangerously wander onto race courses. Just this last Sunday, a friend of mine was on a race course when some newbie skied right in front of her and started turning around gates in a wedge. Everyone started screaming at the guy, but he had no idea what was going on. The guy won't do it again, but there were 100 other people on that bus from Maryland that would. It kind of sucks, but you have to give up yelling and just understand where we live. Hate never works.
  9. More hate. Dude, just keep something in mind: every place you ever go outside of the park, you are in my or my friends way. Would it be cool for me to get in your face and tell you to get back in the fucking park because you are so fucking slow? No. And I'm sure you don't get what I'm saying.
  10. Uh, who are you saying was wrong in your little made up scenario? You say he was "sitting in a blind spot". According to you, the kid fucking wiped out (in your made up scenario) and was gathering his gear. Wouldn't it be the fault of the assholes not waiting for the landing to clear? What's the 'smartstyle' on that one? Anyone that crashes is fair game for landing on? Was the kid getting out of their way too slowly? Goddamn kids that may be hurt and don't scramble out of your way fast enough. BC is getting the rep is deserves. Hate, hate, hate.
  11. But just the first two weeks and no team results, right?

I've only skied JF 20 times or so over the years, but my impression is that nothing compares to Marjie's, Cliffhanger, or Rocket. JF strikes me with more of an Asp/Big Pocono steepness...plus CB has 200 more vert and is 50% more acreage than JF. Floyd's Folly is to the far skier's right? I just don't remember it being at all steep. Hmmm...we need that guy who stopped by PASR a year or so ago regarding Denton to do the real math. And, just to add, when Sib and I were skiing CB every weekend, even though the crowds sucked, working your way from one end of the mountain to the other was always fun and kept things new. Crowds and liftlines aside, CB is a more interesting mountain to ski than Blue. IMO, Blue has the two best diamonds, but CB's variety blows away Blue's. And JF is def a second tier ski area in both categories. Just IMO, of course.

    It's SNOWING!

Whistler was closed for racing until 8pm, or so. They had concentrated so much snowmaking for the park that Switch wasn't usable.
  14. Ha, that's terrible. Funny but terrible. We raced in the dark from 5:45-8pm on Whistler.

    It's SNOWING!

We raced on Whistler tonight. But, yeah, the beginner slopes took a hit from two days of rain and heavy fog. The cam shows the guns are on, though. Spur? You mean the flat area at the top of the lifts? Uh, you can get off the Shuttle or Iron Horse lift and ski to the trails just fine

    It's SNOWING!

Yep, the NF was great tonight. It probably would have been better if there were more skiers/riders to break up some of the frozen granular, but coverage is edge to edge and the snow is insanely fast. It's as if it never rained.

Are you kidding? Of course I did. No way in heck could I pass that up.
  18. With four of the top five times, the Racewax.com Ski Team took tonight's team win to move to 3-0 on the season. Congrats to Mike B., Bobert540, and Chris (all PASR members) for smoking the dark course to be the only racers to break 31 seconds.

    It's SNOWING!

The NF will be fine. I'm heading over in a few minutes and post tonight.
  20. It's just teasing that gets mean and out of hand. It's fine to complain about your own mountain closing because you paid your money. But we get nasty about other mountains just for the sake of feeling superior.

IDK, Timeless, JF/BB doesn't have anything close to a CB black diamond. You might end up bored.

    Vermont

Most people on NS are from cities and ski/ride less than a dozen days a season. So, yeah, def listen to them about Vermont. I think we've met Metzy's angry older brother, perhaps?
  25. You used to be more fun. What happened, Melissa?
