Blue shut down operations for the night after a brief, passing thundershower and didn't mention it on the website and the girl on the phone didn't even want to tell me. I had to press her. She kept trying to say that "we'll be open tomorrow morning"...they were trying to hide it. I'm not saying anything good about CB and I'm not saying anything bad about Blue. I'm just saying that Blue let CB off the hook for the rest of the year.

That would be awesome. The practice night we had was a lot like riding Disney's Space Mountain---an indoor roller coaster that whips you around in the dark. Glow in the dark gates would be perfect. I'll take Sugarbush over both. MRG is a blast, especially after a few days of Okemo groomers, but can be a pain in the ass. Castlerock is crazier than most things at MRG, plus you have 5x the skiable acres as MRG. But it's all about the experience you've had. I've had people tell me how icy Okemo is and how empty Mount Snow was And I bet Doug's real reason for liking Stowe is because that girl let him feel her up on the gondola.

Just from how shallow Switch's snow depth was on Sunday, I'm thinking it's about a 5% chance of being on. I sure wasn't expecting them to say it was still on. I'm def calling back a little later. It's cloudy. They might close.

No, I could care less if Blue or CB or any place closes. It's just cool that someone on here now has to shut up about closings...or at least chill about them. But, really, Blue totally let down a lot of people by just pulling the plug. Our policy at The Hideout is to close the lifts for one hour following the last lightning strike. I think Blue should return a few dollars to all the pass holders for closing. There were probably hundreds of people willing to hit the last couple of hours. Blue didn't mention it on the website and the conditions report never changed from the morning announcement. That's too freaking lame. I was about to get in my truck and head down for last hour. Luckily, someone picked up on the 20th ring. Now, it's like we can never trust Blue to be open. They are getting more and more like CB. I think maybe the owners once skied at CB, so that must explain everything. I'm just kidding, but that was fun to write. Did I mention that you have a great username?

Hey, maybe that's the secret to skiing Blue without horrible crowds: wait until it's pouring rain The clouds started to break around 3pm, then the heavy rains came back in by 4pm. We just drove back from Chuck E Cheese in Scranton and people are driving 40mph on the highways because of the dense fog and rain.

Dense fog and rain and they didn't sell any tickets all morning. People should show up instead of complaining after the fact. IDK, I guess it's just the way it is up here with so many fair weather skiers/riders. Midweek, Sno relies on a few dozen ticket sales instead of a few hundred at other places. It isn't that unusual for Sno to close for rain and fog. The upper mountain is really susceptible to pooling water. Plus, nobody shows up---literally zero 'guests' on the entire mountain.
