Fuck off, Rob. You called my little kid a prostitute. You better just avoid me for a really long time. Go find your kid's booze stash and drink up.

Ski/snowboard helmets are required to pass a minimum safety requirement test. All Giro's do. So then you can move on to features, like vents and padding and whether it's full or partial. Get a great fit in a shop, then pay half price online.

Oh, I think I get it. That's the second time you've referenced myspace and drugs and alcohol. No, the only myspace page I've been to is Zonked's. I opened a myspace page to host photos a couple of years ago before I realized you couldn't. Having a little drug and booze problem, Rob? Sorry to hear. I'd only heard a bunch of stories and didn't have any idea. But I really was asking what mountain you would choose to ski if you were the only one skiing in your family.
-
I've never been to your kids myspace page, you ass.

Spike looked like a snowy movie set with all the guns and bright light. We were squinting from over in our dark hole

Rob, if your other kid quits skiing, too, where would you ski? Blue? It's a serious question. I'm hoping to have a present for Doug when he gets back from JH. A magic carpet? Pardon my ignorance, Lib, but is that seen as a good thing? I've only seen them in bunny areas and they seem wicked slow. But I guess they get the tubers up pretty fast.

Bullshit, Rob. You have always said that character doesn't matter. That if you are great, it doesn't matter how much of an asshole you are. I say it does matter. I say that baseball players who get drunk and run over people shouldn't be admired. There has been a growing realization that the special treatment top high school athletes are getting has come back to hurt the kids in the end. This carries on into college, where---except for places like Notre Dame and the armed services academies, college basketball player almost never graduate in Division 1 schools. I was living in Massachusetts in the mid-80's when it was revealed that the second ranked team in the nation had a GPA of 1.2. One kid went on to be an NBA star, while the rest went on to jail. As soon as they weren't 'needed', they were discarded. Leko's problem has been repeatedly described as frustration from a sense of entitlement. Those are words from psychiatrists who studied the case. Hypothetical situation: say a parent raises a child to be disrespectful and rebellious and to believe that having a special talent makes him better than anyone else. And when he fails, the child lashes out and hurts other people. Is it solely the child's fault when he lands in prison? If a family member tells another, mentally ill family member with a long history of violence to "go after" a cop, you don't feel the first family member has any responsibility? Bode clearly knew his cousin had a handgun and had already nearly choked to death another cousin to get it back. But Bode just bailed him out and enabled him to keep the gun. It's the same fucking problem we see in schools more and more. Parents don't take responsibility for their kids actions anymore. Lousy parents dump their problems on teachers and admins. And it's the good kids who suffer. It's a simple fact right out of Bode's own mouth that he encouraged his mentally ill cousin into that terrible situation. A mentally ill kid who had already nearly killed two family members. I don't care if not a single person agrees with me that Bode made a bad situation worse in how he dealt with his cousin who idolized him. I read just about every news story and every quote and nearly ever blog about the case and formed my own opinion. I did so because ski racing is a huge part of my life and Bode is a huge figure. You don't care about a person's character, only his or her results. That's fine for you. To me, character is equally important when I choose to root for an athlete or vote for a politician. Hey, I bet you've gotten some great deals on Kobe Bryant and Michael Vick jerseys. I bet you see it as a bummer how a few dead dogs and a sexually assaulted girl can get in the way of practice time. More than half the country feels that way.

So, isn't that basically what 1st Grade just said?

You say you don't care, but you post endlessly about the subject. And if you think nobody cares, you haven't seen the hundreds of blogs and hundreds of news articles. The most decorated ski racer in US history encouraged a mentally ill relative into a situation that ended the life of a cop. If it had been Barry Bonds or Michael Jordan, then it would have been front page news for weeks. But Bonds and Jordan wouldn't have done it in the first place. Drink up!

And since Scott's okay, that's almost a funny joke.

Even Easy Street is being blasted...it is really cool. I haven't seen the mountain anywhere near this good, either.

Idiot. I waited until he was out of the the drug induced coma and released from the hospital today. It gives watching it a little different tone. Understand?
-
Oh, and btw, RACEWAX.COM Ski Team won tonight's opener. PASR's own Chris, Bobert540 and Brian smoked the course as an Austrian-style dynasty has begun.

Ha, I'd ski naked if it was faster. I need all the help I can get. Sorry, I couldn't hear much over my chattering teeth.

Cop killing isn't big news, eh? Maybe you should get out more. And Bode's coach is the part of the family on Bode's side. Can't you read? There are four brothers all suing each other. And the town is now fighting about whether to name a stretch of highway after the slain officer. You have the internet, 1st Grade. Don't you know how to use it?
-
He's out of the hospital now...I believe he was doing 87mph and, yes, that's his broken helmet that catches up to him as the seizures begin. (edit: I miss typed Macartney's name) video

Wow. You seem to be living an updated version of a '70's ski movie. But where are the hot tubs, Glenn?
-
I guess this should go here...anyway, tonight's Thursday Night Corporate League race for 1/14/8 is confirmed as ON. 5pm check-in at the ski school chalet and the course opens at 6pm.

Christ, 1st Grade, do your own fucking research if you're interested. The clan is so inbred that last names are intermixed. As of YESTERDAY, trial dates are still pending. "His siblings have retained lawyers, too, and now the dispute is in court, with the possible result being that Tamarack will wind up in the hands of a developer. There are other tensions simmering at the camp as well. The other Kenneys have grown so angry at the Millers for their role in Liko

We uses matches. Lots of matches.

I have a quick general question for anyone from the team, if there are any on the MB...please drop me a pm...

But it does keep the crowds off. Right?

Thanks for the TR! I was headed over but had a last minute assignment for work

Bode didn't shoot the cop. He bailed his mentally ill cousin out and encouraged him to escalate the situation. Bode came to his cousin's side after he nearly killed his aunt by chainsawing a 40 foot tree onto her house while she was inside, then attacked her and chased her to a neighbor's. She had to get a restraining order. It was unclear whether the financial help Bode gave to his cousin helped him buy the gun Liko used to murder the cop, but Liko wasn't making any money at the time. That handgun sure meant a lot to Liko. So when Liko's 15 yr old cousin swiped it and some porn dvd's from his cabin, Liko responded by attacking the kid and choking him, for which he was arrested and convicted. Yeah, there's also the conviction for assaulting an officer and resisting arrest and cutting a court ordered monitoring device from his ankle. How about violating probation by driving around his atv with a blowgun and steel darts? On and on and on. And through all this, it was never Liko who had the problem. Bode blamed the cop. He was so smug that he joked to Sports Illustrated about sticking it to the cop. No, Bode didn't shoot the cop. He just enabled a mentally ill family member to do it. He could have used his influence to diffuse the situation, but he chose a different route. Now there's a war between the Kenneys and the Millers. The four brothers all want the land they inherited and have lawyered up. One side of the family is bitter that they had the nerve to testify against Liko for nearly choking to death his 15 yr old cousin. Yeah, Liko was a free spirit and a great kid. He nearly killed two family members before hopping in his beat up, unregistered Celica with a jug of vodka and a loaded handgun. From an article in Boston Magazine: "Kenney revved his car forward, striking the officer. Then he backed up and drove at McKay again, this time plowing the front end of the Celica up over McKay

He skied off course and threw up, Rob.
