Most of your posts are about me and you hate where you ski. Yeah, your life sounds full, you little prick.
-
To be honest, I'm never sure who he's hating on, Sib....and you are right that the US wants four event skiers, as do the European countries that can afford it.
-
28 wins? Think he'll catch Stenmark's 86? Maier's 53? Tomba's 50? Girardelli's 46? Maybe he'd catch Zurbriggen's 40 if he wasn't a drunk.

It could be tomorrow, but they seem to want to squeeze every last second of snowmaking time out of this cold snap.

Written any novels, DH? Or do just spend your free time trying impersonating Beavis and Butthead?
-
Wow, you got me there, DH. "Your is" just doesn't make sense. Pretty good for someone without a college education. Maybe you can get a job as....uh, well, probably not. It's cool, though, the world needs ditch diggers.

Exactly. The policy at just about every ski area is for instructors/students to cut the lines, especially when it's busy. But, when I taught, we were always told to let a half dozen chairs go by, so it didn't seem like we were just barging in front of everyone. What I never agreed with was mountains that sold passes for people not in lessons to cut the lines. Sterling Forrest, which was sold last year, used to offer a special pass were you could use the ski school line. That just seemed creepy to me---like you can afford it, so flaunt it, or something. Dumb. Race and freestyle teams also get to cut the lines at most ski areas. At CB, the rule was that race teamers could cut lines only when they started to get long. Otherwise, they were to use the regular corral. But it isn't like they are getting special treatment---race team kids are just like people in a lesson; a race team is a lesson. But it's best to lay low about it and def don't be posting on a MB about how someone deserves special privileges. I bet that didn't happen on a Saturday afternoon at CB

Big, are you gonna share a lift ride with me this year? I'm starting to think you're a little stuck up...

Yeah, never use a base cleaner unless you are doing a p-tex repair. The best way to clean a base is to brush out the crap with a nylon then brass brush, then do a hot scrape. If you skip right to a hot scrape, you can be ironing bad stuff into your base. And if you are using a warm wax, you can skip scraping altogether. Your first run will feel a little tacky, but the snow will remove the excess wax.

You keep saying Bode sucks. I've said about a thousand times he's an amazing talent. I keep saying I don't care about Bode because I don't admire people who egg on family members who murder cops. If you think Bode is a great role model and a great champion, then fine for you. And how about you don't mention my daughter, Larry, and I won't mention your's?

Just headed over for a half dozen quick runs...Cannonball is a little crusty in spots and the guns on Smoke make the runout kind of crazy---like skiing through a car wash. Painful pellets and I almost went into the nets. But WL and Boomer are just amazing piles of swirling powder. Manmade snow just doesn't get any better. In fact, what's being produced on those two slopes is better quality than most natural snow in this area. And what a drag that I didn't have my camera, since the guns just below the Phoebe that arc over the entrance to WL/Boomer/Smoke were creating a perfect rainbow. The east side runs are getting close to opening. They've been pounding them non-stop for days. The lot was pretty empty and there were no buses, so it's a little surprising they are working so hard to open new terrain. Switch is ready for the first league race of the season, Thursday. It was cold, but the wind had died down, so it's not uncomfortably cold---just an extra layer. A guy I rode the lift with commented that they are blowing enough snow on Boomer to keep it open until May. Cool by me...

I read the directions for cleaning goggles on the side of the box for the first time ever just a few weeks ago. It sure doesn't recommend frantically wiping them with a leather glove as you try to see whether it's a tree or another skier you're about to hit.

By crowded, I mean I could see other people were actually on the mountain heheheh... Great TR, thanks! We needed a day off, but are heading back over tomorrow.

A grown man that still can't spell "their". It makes it impossible to then click meaningless links...

No you weren't, Rob. You either misread my post or were just so anxious to be negative again that you tried to misrepresent what I said. AGAIN: "It would be really cool if his boss lets him enter the comp. Nick said he'd rather support the mountain and work the event, but Sno should have it's best skiing the event." Nick always tells me how much he digs what he's doing. I don't know Nick very well, but he always stops to say hello. He mentioned he wasn't sure if he was entering and I was trying to prod him into doing it with a post. I have no idea if he asked for the day off or if he really wants to enter. It wasn't a serious post, it was just goofing around. And you tried to make it something it wasn't. Rob: read posts more carefully before jumping in and trying to start shit. You're pissed at me, so your response is to drag some hard working, great kid into your crappy world? That's pathetic. I'm sorry your kid brags about smoking pot and getting drunk. That's what I meant about having to post bail. That you then turned around and called my little girl a prostitute is fucked up beyond belief. Just go away, Rob. You are far and away the worst kind of hater I've ever met on a MB. Nick: I'm sorry I said anything. I had no idea Rob would try to use an innocent post to start shit and bring up some old situation involving other people. I hope you enter 'cause you're a rippin' skier. Jesus, Rob, you're like slow dripping poison.

All good advice. Have you been to Hidden Valley? We had an ASRA race there a couple of years ago on a very cool slope with two blind headwall breakovers. I liked the place a lot---like a big Tanglwood.
-
Someone who posts about family members the way he did should be banned. And if a "very talented park skier" acted like that, then they'd be treated the same way until they learned about crossing the line. And you egged the little boys on, as well, Rob, so F you, too. BTW, Rob, you home hill sucks for anything but park. How's the race program? Oh, yeah, I forgot...racing is uncool. Luckily there's video games to keep busy with.
-
I'd fall down. You can do it for the experience, Mike. It doesn't just have to be about winning, does it? If anyone has sh*t to say, just F them. If it'd be fun, you should def do it.
-
WTF? Why are you bitching about someone else's problem from last year? Don't you have anything at your home hill to worry about?

I was surprised to find out recently just how closely Sno management has been following PASR. And while I come off as a total 'homer' for Sno, I have hammered them on some things with the lift and a shuttle not always running. Amazing how two part time employees can make the experience of a lot of guests really bad. Even more amazing was Sno's response---the issues were fixed the very next day and haven't recurred. 'Liftguy' listened to a customer complaint and simply made it right. That never happened in all my years at CB. At CB, they'd 'yes' you and do nothing. And, yes, I believe I was almost fired three times now from Sno. Luckily, I don't work there. My PASR nickname is Coach C, which is what all my soccer players have called me for years. It's apparently caused some unintended confusion. But I'm not changing my nickname just to stay out of trouble... If I could give any advise to Sno regarding message boards, I'd tell them to assign someone like Glenn to read them. Someone with a very chill personality that isn't going to kick doors in when there's something they don't like. Look at what just happened with the Blue thread and BlueSnowSports guy...a mountain employee can never win an MB argument and they only end up pissing people off. My company was founded by a man who wasn't allowed in most meetings because he'd always end up threatening to fire somebody. He was great guy, but when people in power try to micromanage, it puts everyone on edge and makes department heads reluctant in their decision making. I guess what I'm getting at is that it's great that Sno is listening, but there's a reason places like CB and Hunter shut down their message boards. It's simply better to back off and allow the ideas to flow, be aware of recurring issues and be quick to fix problems, but understand what makes Sno a great place. Instead of apologizing for a lack of a high speed quad, embrace the fact that since there are no lift lines, it's just as fast to get up the NF as at Blue. And the slower lifts makes the skiing better. The slower the lift, the less crowded the slopes. Mad River Glen is a good example for Sno to follow. The single chair is one of the charms of the place with the added bonus of it keeping the best terrain free from crowds. I keep reading all the complaints in Ski Mag about "cookie cutter" ski resorts, where every trail seems the same and every lift is fast and every hamburger is brown. The writers say they sometimes forget which resort they are at. So when Doug is saying Sno should be more like Blue, I say Sno should be more like Sno. And probably the biggest untapped weapon in Sno's marketing arsenal is White Lightning. When CB touts Cliffhanger and Blue mentions Razor's Edge, Sno can always suggest those two slopes are a good way for skiers and riders to practice for taking on WL's headwall. And then offset the unfamily friendly image by suggesting all of CB and Blue's beginner terrain combined would fit on Upper Fast Track and Upper Runaway with Highball left over. But they seem to be on the right track. They blew tons of snow on the park and tons on the NF. They ponied up for the park rats and the advanced skiers/riders. The buses will come, but they were working on their core by doing that. In ski resort marketing, it's been my experience that you succeed in the long term by building loyalty and then the weekenders will follow. Sorry for the long, mostly off topic rant, Track... About the $6 chicken tenders? Well, I'm not buying them until I get my food discount back and an apology for trying to fire me so often Oh, and since Doug will make me pay for the Razor's Edge comment, let me just add that Challenge and RE are two of the best slopes in the Poconos---and two of my favorites. (crowded as hell, though )

You can until you get caught. But these people were mostly shuffling around the base of the bunny hill and not posing much of a danger.
-
And the asshole flamer throws in his two cents! Get a life, you moron.

Cool, Chippy. If you do come up, make it Saturday and not Sunday, since there's PA Cup races. Good skiing with you!
