  1. Okay, but just humor me for a moment and take a look back in time, or at nearly every other modern-day culture. Someone drives their car into a telephone pole and smashes their head into the windshield and is bleeding profusely and is too dazed from the concussion to apply pressure to the wound. Anyone with common sense would know to apply pressure to the wound and no special skill is involved. In New Jersey, you risk losing your house and all of your savings for pulling your car over and perhaps saving that person's life, according to case law. The Good Samaritan in that case testified he believed the victim was going to die if he didn't help. The jury didn't care. The defense attorney made a wonderful closing argument, describing a scene in which people just pulled over and watched the victim bleed to death, some taking photos, others describing the scene to friends on their cell phones. If an injury is made worse 5% of the time, but other situations are made better 20% of the time, lawyers have made certain those 20% victims are guaranteed not to be helped.
  2. In order for any person to receive the benefit of the exemption from civil liability [the Good Samaritan must be] the holder of a current certificate by the American National Red Cross or the American Heart Association Pffftt...in other words, a Good Samaritan is only someone with a current certificate, so never help anyone because of scumbag lawyers and suit-happy dirtballs. No offense meant, Melissa.
  3. Doug, it's too bad it's too late to get an AED for your XMas party...It could be like the ultimate handshake buzzer.

Melissa, I happen to know Doug has a Santa suit.
  5. I feel it, too. I got hit last spring parked at my favorite running park and I haven't been back since. Best to just let it go, unless you run into someone with your gear. I think it's then acceptable to beat them to death...
  6. Jeez, no, Nick, I have no clue where to shop for hot girl's snowboard clothing. Would I even be allowed in places like that? But I just love bad Pelican stories and I'd really like to know what went down at 940...good luck, BurtonGirl. I find everything I need on eBay.

My 2 cents... Open a Webshots account (or comparable) and print out the URL on a bunch of slips of paper. Then just hit whatever park and shoot a ton of pics the way you want. Hand out the Webshots address to anyone that asks to see their pic. Keep the Webshots versions small, or Photoshop "SAMPLE" across them, and charge five bucks for a full size via email. You get portfolio pics and skiers/riders get cheap shots. BTW, if you went to SHS or ESHSS, I probably ran into you once or twice. Good luck!

Ha, I knew it! You're that kid who stands outside Zumiez at the mall calling people retards and fags all day. C'mon, I'm right, it's you, isn't it? What a small and really bitter little world.
  9. Hahahah...classic. Sno has them, too, but they don't get seem to get a boner from interrupting your day with their little power trips. The Rangers I knew from CB were off-duty cops, which tells you something.

    Hey, liftguy

Jeez, TP4's gonna be in charge of my next bachelor party.

    Holy SH*T!!!!

Be careful even typing Mark's name...and never say it out loud three times in a row.

    Holy SH*T!!!!

Yep, I can confirm Melissa was skiing the NF, but I think the guys still want pics of you girls. Those kinds of pics...or the website where they might be posted. Jeez, Mike, that's not a very happy thought. Knock that sh*t off. I still have poles for you. Does that cheer you up?
  13. "I felt great about my performance today and I'm not at all disappointed. Going it alone has made it hard to focus, but I feel like it's all coming together. I know I'm the best skier skier on any given course and any race is for me to win or lose." ---Bode on his 8th place DH finish.
  14. Did someone out there ask for the guns to be turned on? Holy cow, Sno is pumping it out big time. I'm looking forward to the grooming, but Boomer was a blast with piles of just barely fluffy enough manmade and the Pole Cats making it a blizzard. Great afternoon and there were a dozen empty chairs between skiers/riders.

    Hey, liftguy

$46? Wow, that's a lot of lap dances for TP4 When you start having babies and turn them into little skiers and boarders, a good lift op becomes a lot more important. Heck, I pay my babysitter $40 a night so she doesn't waterboard Ty when we're out...
  16. Ha, you missed the DNQ before that? The race was pretty exciting, but more so for Didier Cuche who smoked Bode's time in the lower section (the announcer suggested it was due to Miller's "lack of fitness") to take the win.

    WOO HOO!!!!!!

That's sort of how I found Montage way back when. I was writing a ski column for Gannett News Service and skied every ski area in PA in one month. It's ironic that the only one I missed was the Hideout Ski Hill.
  18. From the website: :rock :rock :rock Sno Mountain opens Boomer and White Lightening!! The North Face is now 100% open!! Come enjoy the fresh powder! (But I love that they can't spell their own trail names )
  19. Us. (Sorry, Nick, no older daughter)

    Hey, liftguy

Sunday around 2:30pm, or so. But listen: the kids working from 7-10pm tonight down on Iron Horse were great. They slowed the lift the first time they saw my little one, then just made sure to catch every chair after seeing she could ski up to it in plenty of time. I would hate for what happened Sunday to reflect on those kids. And we rode the bunny lift tonight for channel 16 and those guys were great as always. "The world needs ditch diggers." ---Caddy Shack
  21. Ty and I hit Sno from 7 to closing...the snow was awesome, probably the best for helping lay a base on slopes they are about to start blowing on. We were just on the upper mountain, but the headwall above Switch had soft mini bumps and they did build a kicker on Mainline's second headwall. The slopes were pretty empty. Overall, the new snow was somewhere between powder and wet, so it was a lot of fun ripping around. Should groom up nicely. Where exactly are any of the new lights?

    Hey, liftguy

    Baaah, you're just a cheapskate.

    Hey, liftguy

Ha, but maybe it's different than Chippy's love of being a grocery store checkout...Nick's already grumbling in rentals, but Shadow's digging what he does.
  24. Cool...be sure to post how Blue's adult clinic is.
  25. Ah, no, sorry...no bootglove for Bob...people get picked on and sometimes beaten up for wearing them and we need him to race. BTW, TR, do you have plans to do more racing this season? It kinda sounds like you've dabbled in the addiction...
