  1. Do you have to provide your own snow tube? Can I bring a sled?
  2. Sorry, Tickle, but your's is waaay catchier.
  3. Eight, but really just CBall, Smoke, Whistler, and Mainline. Since Big doesn't wanna ski with me and Melissa tomorrow night, I'll post a TR on how the NF is...
  4. I like gin and an ice cube. Or gin without an ice cube. Sno looks like a place under construction. Personally, I don't care what the base area looks like. Ty had a blast and started to feel a little less paranoid about out of control snowboarders smashing her, so it was a great day for us.
  5. Tickle-Me-Toast? Wow. What's your nickname for Jeff?
  6. Hi, this Tylea and I'm doing the trip report because we skied my slopes today. We arrived at 11am and it wasn't windy at all in the parking lot. It's almost always windy and cold until you get on the slopes. We parked three spots away from the Phoebe lift and it was really fast to get on the snow. There weren't that many people skiing and no lift line for the Iron Horse. There are big piles of snow on Switch and the start house hasn't been moved. I think NASTAR won't be moved. The snow on Switch was really good, but started to get really soft by noon. It was warm today. Mainline had some rails set up, but I don't know what they are called. The lift people were really friendly and the french fries were really good, but they ran out of vanilla ice cream. They need to order more. Highball isn't open yet and they had big trucks and machines piling up rocks. I hope they finish soon because Highball is a lot of fun to ski. I had to practice riding the lift by myself, so I did lots of laps on the bunny slope. I had so much more fun at Sno than at Big Boulder because I didn't get run over by a snowboarder. I also liked that coach Chris and Dante said hello to me and my dad. And the bus driver remembers our Jeep and we don't have to tell him where to go. He's really nice. I give today four out of five stars. It was great because Sno is our home mountain and I missed skiing there, but they need vanilla ice cream and Highball.
  7. First off, welcome to PASR! Word is that you've spent some time lurking and it's great to have people in high places paying a little attention to the hardcore voices. Eh, but two things need to be clarified: first, I'm not a Sno employee; my nickname is Coach C because I'm a soccer coach and that's what all of my kids call me. Secondly, we were just kidding about cutting down the trees. The thread was not to be taken literally. There are no known eco-terrorists on PASR and we'd all be happy to deforest Yellowstone National Park if it made for better skiing/riding. Here's the thread, btw: http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9403
  8. Well, I've had the team vests ready to hand out, but I never run into anyone...I thought the cocktail party was going to be a party....we do have to get together to sign the roster form. I'll try to find Art tomorrow or Sunday (he's an instructor and part of the team we're merging with) and get an idea of when his four people are usually available. Just FYI: our roster is filled and unchanged from what we had at the end of last season, as far as I know. Mike and I are definite, and Metzy and you, as well. It's the non-PASR's who who disappear all summer. I just don't understand people who don't want to talk about skiing in July. Regarding females, I never saw the rules last year, so maybe it's just a rule written somewhere else. But they are so official sounding in the release I can't imagine it isn't a rule change. I don't really get the rule to begin with. You must have a female take a race run each night, but her time doesn't need to be fast enough to score (top 5). If she doesn't show, the team forfeits. So the rule is just to get more female participation? I could see having to have a scoring female, but just a female body that shows up is odd... Having snowboarders allowed is probably just someone's idea to get more people in the league. Personally, I'm used to racing with snowboarders because of all the NASTAR we do. But it would be sacreligious to have them at a USSA Alpine or even ASRA race. I'll letcha know when I found out...
  9. Ha, nope. Your GF gonna be there, Nick?
  10. 911: I'm not sure, but, I'm hungry for meatloaf now. DH: CB employees don't get much more loyal than you, do they? 911: I'm in a good place right now. I've been in all the "other" places too, but, it's pretty good now. Wow, you guys shared a beautiful moment.
  11. I think the only change is that teams aren't required to have a female And snowboarders are now allowed. Here's the flyer: 1. Teams will consist of a minimum of 5 members and / or up to 8 members. Teams may consist of as many male or female participants as desired up to the 8 maximum per team. 2. The team score will be the total of the top 5 racer
  12. Yeah, it sounds like you're really disappointed with what is currently covered. I wasn't judging or saying you should feel one way or another. I was just curious. I guess I'm just used to year after year of them opening with Mainline only and spending the first week dodging rocks and gapers in jeans. BTW, 14, I'm just kinda saying I'm pretty relaxed about what's going on. I got so used to the old mess---and still loved skiing it---that I'm just waiting to see what the end result is.
  13. Are you going to ask for your money back?
  14. Just to be clear, I cut and pasted that paragraph (I miss-typed the first quotation mark)...I've never had any alignment issues and the only abductions I've been involved with had to do with Shannon Elizabeth
  15. us.
  16. I'd guess Cannonball because it connects to the upper slopes. Maybe Smoke because they have so many tower guns on it. And it looked like they were hitting Boomer.
  17. T"he center seam on a ski boot is anything but centered. The foot has a theoretical balance line that bisects the center of the heel and runs through the center of the second toe. Most ski boot "center seams" actually are between one and two degrees inside of center. This results in an abducted stance with the foot mass being outside of center. The outside center position prevents pronation and balances the knock-kneed skier somewhat, but makes it much more difficult to achieve an ideal balance for bowlegged skiers. Since all boots have an abducted stance, a skier with an abducted stance will ride his outside edges. Stretching and/or removing liner material changes the center line on the boot and in many cases makes the skier perform better."
  18. The NF guns were on at 10pm when I came through. And maybe around the lodge and up Mainline.
  19. You've been trying to tell us that, eh?
  20. Ski

    new trails

Ha, you didn't like the skate from the Iron Horse? Upper/Lower Fast Track is going to be like a brand new trail for a lot of people. When it snowed on a Monday last year, there were still first tracks to be had on Thursday.
  21. I'm looking forward to a You Tube vid of a drunk-ass Bode eating a hamburger like David Hasselhoff. That would rock.

Yep. From the griping I've been hearing, I bet they 'introduce' a real student pass next year. However a full price unlimited junior season pass to Elk is $675, while it's only $499 at Sno. Eh, so maybe not. Man, Elk is freaking expensive
  23. All their attention is on the NF tonight...it's pretty awesome looking from 81.
  24. Christmas is the only day some ski areas decide to close for the benefit of their employees. I don't think I've ever heard of a ski area closing New Year's Day.
