Sorry, Chippy. Here, lemme hook you up with a pic of a Baywatch hottie :

I love to spoon during a cold night after a long day of skiing...
-
It started at 3am as huge flakes, some the size of flat golf balls. They made a splattering sound hitting the deck. Then it went to sleet by 4am, followed by rain. I just got soaked hiking, but the rain is cold enough not to hurt the current snowpack. It's supposed to switch to snow later, but it doesn't feel like it. At this point, I'm mostly hoping for a few inches to give me a break from having to wipe off the oil after skiing.

I'm definitely closing it 4/22.

Sounds like an awesome trip...but wtf is up with Pocono night skiers not being prepared for cold and wet snow?
-
IDK, but I hope it was good. Except for when they increased the minimum pole size for FIS, those things never go on sale and you can never get any good deals.

'Dude, would you believe 20 stubbies with bases went for under $100 recently on eBay? I missed it...
-
Yeah, but I keep driving past Sno and think Tuesday could be worth risking a trespassing charge.
-
Ha, thanks, I have a pretty good idea, though...
-
Crap, I'd have slept in a little later if I'd known you were being a lazy ass, TP4...
-
Yeah, I was tired to begin with after skiing and didn't want to hear any sh*t about carrying her, either...

I hit BB for a while this afternoon, but when I got home Ty was really upset that I didn't take her. So I grabbed some bamboo for gates and took her over to our ski hill for some hiking... It was amazing how much snow we still have, considering the late start and lack of snow made. These temps have preserved coverage almost edge to edge on one of the intermediate slopes, as well as decent coverage on the main slope, except at the very bottom. I've been hiking the main slope for weeks, but haven't bothered with the other slopes until today. Hopefully, we'll get some ice then a changeover to snow from this storm and we'll have snow until May... Anyway, we set one little course on an intermediate, then set another on the main slope... A really good day...

I didn't get to BB until noon, so I suppose I missed Big and TP4...but the slopes are holding up really well...they lost less than 10% of their snow, I'd guess. A couple of spots are pretty wet, including the far side of the lift. But it was the best April 14th skiing I've ever done in the Poconos. Probably about 75 jibbers and maybe 15 other skiers/boarders were still there when I left.

And at places like Belleayre. It's as if ski areas hire someone just to come up with ideas to nickle and dime you in every possible way. Just let some things be free, like where you leave your shoes... -
YOU WILL BE THERE SATURDAY

It can't be private anyway since it's when our single guys will be trying to hit the drunk girls at the bar. -

The $3 ski check sucks...for one thing, passholders had to remove their skis and go to the ticket window to buy it, then go back to the shed. And $3? Every once in a while I'll forget my locks at home, but $3 per skier turns it into a bad mistake... And my other suggestion is tied into it: more ski racks. There have been weekends when it was impossible to find a safe spot to lock 'em... -

You can remove the club room...that was just a "joke" by 1st Grade... -
Ha, maybe we'll ride a fast chair next season...

Hey, Skitzo, where you been besides upsetting BC dosh bogs?

Wow, yet another skier gunning for Jeff...

I can't/won't speak for the park, but the two slopes we were lapping were in nearly perfect condition. The slope to skier's left was groomed and had a coating of fresh snow...we kept laying new tracks down it, as everyone else was hitting the park. I met up with bigdaddyk just as we were clicking into our bindings and skied with him until I had to leave at 3pm to get Kat at the airport. Big is definitely ready to start his race career next season...some people that begin skiing as an adult have a tough time, but Big def gets it and is probably one of the better skiers at JF during the week. Great skiing with you and you should really consider Sno for the NF slopes next season. Anyway, anyone that blew it off because technology hasn't come up with any sort of instrument that allows you to copy tv programs and watch them later definitely missed out. Great job BB!

All-mountain skiers, racers, and people that just care about carving turns may want to thank all the jibbers out there for days like today...the only reason BB is still open and has all that snow is to cater to the crowd of park kids that continue to show up. We have the same Polecat system at Sno that BB has and churned out a similar amount of snow, but just haven't built up the diehard base of jibbers that BB has. Props to BB for keeping the lifts spinning and all you ass clowns that keep showin' up. The open slopes really are midwinter conditions...
