This is so unbelievably f*cked up.
-
Well, I'll hook you up with some of Dr. D's best stuff...
-
You do know how fast 'Dude is, right, Nick? He may not do any spin to win stuff, but I eat his dust....
-
It's actually not that difficult to break even on a wet, dead day. We do it at least three or four times a season and it's no big deal. You make it sound like it's some huge production to run two lifts and a skeleton staff. Our annual budget is $125,000....I find it a little hard to believe we're the cutting edge of poor weather ski operations and that CB can't seem to figure it out. I suspect there's been a little brainwashing done over the years.
-
I used to spend quite a bit of time at CB with someone that carried a bell attached to a ski pole---it was a GET THE F*CK OUT OF MY WAY bell. Worked a little like a whistle. Pretty sure that person is a PASRer....
-
Ha, they are our snow princesses So 'Dude v. xNick at CB, Saturday?
-
Ha, well, 'Dude might point out how in the last photo, she has no counter-rotation, her hands are driving forward, she's skeletally stacked nicely...it would be hard to distinguish her from a WC in that photo, not unlike JohnnyP's signature photo. Very, very, very, nice....

No, he's made a hobby out of getting people to dislike him to the point of wanting to burry him alive...
-
Wow, buy the last one! Even she has to be happy with that one...
-
Congrats, Sib! Now, break down and order a big one of that.

True... unless... the LITTLE people show up when a particular manager is there. It is sort of an odd rule to go by height, since there's a built-in physical descrimination. There's no perfect way to do it (although I'd recommend not calling customers liars), since people lie about their kid's ages a lot and height is quantitative. Parents are also used to having their kids measured if they spend time at theme parks or at carnivals. At our ski hill, we use age---4 yrs. and under ski free with a paying adult---which basically means all kids pay.
-
Yep...and I sorta miss not reading every thought that ever ran through little 'Dude's head.

Less work for Craig, for sure. Spam makes up 90% of all emails and there are now 'banks' of people working in places like India that hit message boards, which is their way around the email verification process that MB designers thought would get rid of it. But best of all: Hi, Skierforever!

I can't say definitively about JFBB, but all resorts I've had my kids at honor passholders exactly the same as day ticket holders. CB, in fact, had given us a comp season pass for Ty when we purchased our regular season passes a couple of years ago...the mountain formerly known as Montage did the same. And when I've brought a friend's kid skiing (twice at Elk), I've just shown my season pass and they've always printed up a comp. I can't imagine JFBB doing it any differently.

Ha, she's welcome to do whatever she wants, but I couldn't even imagine her hitting the park. Sib's daughter and she used to use the CB park jumps as practice race starts when they weren't with the rest of their team---that's about the extent of the park for her. Yeah, Schif, I was in the lot a couple of times---once to carry all the skis, since the girls were tired and needed hot chocolate. And I'm like their personal butler But Schif at BB on a beautiful January day? Man, it's one f*cked-up winter, eh? Three tour buses pulled in at about 4:30pm They sure aren't losing money.

Heheheheheheh...no, TP4, they were nice as usual... Grilled: she gave up a helmet the day she stopped racing...and she didn't bring her ID and I'm not the sort of person that wants to waste time trying to argue a discount. Ever. Shadows: 19. Twin tips? That'd be like me asking you to try on a bra. Rob: We use the Applerise gear, aka Kid-Ski. Actually, the only thing left is her harness that is worn sort of like a backpack, providing a handle for me. I can ski up next to her and lift her up and carry her around, if I need. It was developed by a former USST guy, Steve Lathrop. Good stuff.

Ha, I know, 'Dude. Pretty amazing how light her slalom setup is compared to the Norida and Atomic binding combo.
-
Yeah, Atomic Race 5's in 100cm...
-
We hit BB from 3 to 5pm today...just cruising Tannenbaum and poaching a slalom set on Little Boulder for four runs (until the coaches got upset and booted us)...thanks again to BB for letting my 6 yr old ski free---you got our $54 today because of that policy Snow was frozen cord that loosened up by 4pm. The lifties were great as always, catching the non-detachable, which is an issue 'cause I have to lift Ty up by a handle and can't catch the chair myself. Two years off skis and my oldest still makes me look like a hack...AWESOME AFTERNOON!

People can make whatever excuses they want and are certainly welcome to their own opinions, but what season passholder in PA doesn't wish their home mountain had Blue's attitude? It builds tremendous loyalty and having loyal customers is the building block for any successful business. Some days you just eat it and take a loss, but it always comes back two-fold. Is there really any CB passholder that wants CB closed? Does it really give anyone a good feeling that CB's profits will be $1.9 million instead of $1.8 million? I can understand places like Sno and Alpine and Twood being worried about the bottom line, but worrying about CB profit levels? Pfffft...
-
I can tell you from experience that PPL works pretty hard to help out new business', especially one's that have long-term commitments to the area. My wife has been dealing with going from heating/cooling a 400 sq ft. space to a 7000+ sq/ft. space and she's been able to change 'packages' twice. Sno Mountain LLC has no debt and $8 million in equity----they have some silver and gold dust to spread around. They'll blow when it's cold.
-
Thanks! Just send me some more nudie pics and I'll do whatever you want with them. I have lots of time to kill.p0[

I would start by asking them really nicely. The season pass still makes sense for me even if they didn't open until mid-Feb. Yeah, they killed Saddam, Stevo. And you wanna know why TP4 doesn't have any pics from Park City? I knew when I saw that one ski mask--second from the left....
