    UPDATE!

Picked up our season passes today and took a few pics of the signage...mostly because there was so little sno to shoot...
  2. I got hit up by a religious cult while on spring break at Daytona Beach. They sent out these super hot chicks to invite single guys they'd come across at random places. Hey, if you're 18 and two amazing girls invite you to their hotel room, there's just no possible way to refuse. But then there's a dozen dudes in sandals crammed in every freakin corner of the room. I resigned my cult position when I found out I was not getting laid.
  3. Heck ya...maybe even one of Dranow's!
  4. It's a one run fun race through a simple, NASTAR-like giant slalom course. The downside is that you get in a really long line to ski/board a scraped off, rutted course, using up about two hours of your day. The upside is that you get a pretty nice longsleeve t-shirt and there's a crapload of decent swag that's given out like door prizes. The people that run the Mt. Dew series are also known as Uber Happy Fun People. Maybe it's all the Mt. Dew they drink, but I've never been around such hyper-smiling people (except for maybe that one cult I belonged to...) Overall, it's a good time.
  5. Belleayre Holiday Race Camp (12/26-12/29) was just cancelled...
  6. Well, I'm not so sure you'll be getting much more boarding in at Sno. But Sno will have a cool new atmosphere, will still be vastly less crowded, and there will be summer job opportunities. If you're giving lessons, tips at Elk will be much better---at least more frequent.

    UPDATE!

Here's the helicopter story in today's T-T: An imposing Sikorsky helicopter eased Sno Mountain
  8. Eh, 3.1 degrees difference. Just for the record.
  9. Ha, I once won a pair of Budweiser skis.

    UPDATE!

You get that when you click on the image, or that's in place of the image? Let Greg know. I see the pic, both in thumbnail and full-size. Post something in the Site forum. Greg can fix just about anything when he feels like it.

    UPDATE!

Just for the record, here's what it looked like as of 2pm yesterday: (Edit: and it sort of a bummer to look at and makes me want to drive back over and see what they made last night)

    UPDATE!

ThinkSnow giveth and ThinkSnow taketh away...ever see the Futurama where Bender is God? It always reminds me of Greg. (Uh, in a really, really nice way)

    UPDATE!

Well, I would have uploaded the pic, but there seems to be a bug and it's giving me this: "Upload failed. Please ask the administrator to check the settings and permissions" It's just a 104k jpeg and I have 2+mb left...

    UPDATE!

I was on my way over to the BC ski shop and there was a big-ass helicopter moving a fan gun up the hill around 2pm...I pulled over right on top of 81 for a pic, but it landed while I was digging for my camera. I'll post a pic of what they've made sno on in a few...
  16. Yes, Ski sure would.
  17. What blew me away was that they only sold 375 season passes last year. Can you even imagine that? We sell more than that at our little ski hill. Here's the whole story: Mountain of changes under way BY JAMES HAGGERTY STAFF WRITER 12/17/2006 Denis Carlson hopes a new look, new attractions, improved ski conditions and better marketing sweep Sno Mountain to financial success.
  18. I'm tryin' not to give Sno too much sh*t, but he sure has been grumpy.
  19. Sorry, I thought that was funny.
  20. What movie was that? Bruce Almighty? IDK, it's a movie I only watched once...
  21. Or, uh, have fun on the family vacation, Danger, and let us know how it's going if you can sign on...
  22. The rain forests are one piece of the puzzle, yes. The planned wind farm off the East Coast was scrapped for a bigger reason...it was an "eyesore" to the Kennedy Compound. The Kennedy family spent more than seven million dollars funding every group that would come up with a reason not to build it. Good old Teddy once drove off a bridge and let a girl drown in his car, then stumbled home in a drunken stupor and didn't report the accident until morning. You and I would still be in jail, but he's making laws and telling us not to build unsightly wind farms that get in the way of his sailboats... This all really happened. Really. Any kids out their just Google "Chapaquitic", then ask your social studies teacher if they think Ted Kennedy is a great American of the Democratic Party.
  23. Also: it's time to seriously consider the positive aspects of eco terrorism. Sometimes it's okay to be a "common criminal", as they like to call them. Some people feel it's their right to drive environment destroying SUV's because they can afford it. They make up for having deficiencies in other parts of their lives, so they drive something that makes them feel bigger. They are often the same people that have no problem blowing second hand smoke down the lungs of their infant children---and other people's children... It's okay to stop being so PC. The next time you walk past a Hummer, why not make a statement? Maybe they'll get it through their fat heads at some point.
  24. How ironic it is that when I was a little kid, Time Magazine ran a cover story on the impending ice age. Temps had been on a steady decrease and scientists were all publishing doom and gloom that we would eventually freeze to death. Global warming is 100% real, but so will the next cycle of global cooling. How warm and for how long, is anyone's guess. It's a shame that science has been so effected by politics. Anything intelligent that Al Gore contributes is lost in the 60% bullshit that he spews. He was the candidate so in tune with the environment that he had a New Hampshire river release flood gates at the wrong time of year for spawning fish just so he could have a photo op in a canoe. What a sh*thead. We need to switch to hydgrogen powered cars, utilize wind farms, and stopped timbering the goddamn rain forrests...but most scientists that aren't politically motivated seem to believe that global temperatures are beyond our control, much the same as volcanic erruptions. For anyone interested in non-political science, I highly recommend Seed Magazine.
  25. It's going to be put up, or shut up time, Sno...the forecast gives them plenty of quality snowmaking hours for anyone with SMI type of equipment. Xmas week is make or break for turning a profit for the season...I bet they are open, with top to bottom skiing. And, btw, Sno, does your classified ad mean you aren't catching a ride with me to the first Nastar at Blue with the crew? I still owe you and TP4 a night ticket at Booter...
