  2. Bruce Dickenson(singer for Iron Maiden) is the captian for "Ed Force One"..a Boeing 757..As said before they are absolutly huge outside the US...Check out "Flight 666-Iron Maiden" for a great documentary on them. They fuckin rock..as do those skis.
  3. I just scored mine.
  4. Many Thanks!!
  5. It's a "toaster" era bike..You could get the bike with a large tank(6 gal.)w/rubber pads on the sides,a "toaster" tank that had chrome sides,or a plain tank. The toaster tanks were not well received in the U.S. when they came out so dealers switched a lot of tanks(they were al interchangeable).I found it on CL and paid 3K for it.It's in really nice shape and just had the motor redone.I'm the third owner and it came with complete documentation on all the work. I feel it was money well spent.
  6. Motorcycle that is..1973 R75/5...What a blast to ride!
  7. Once bitten twice shy...Everytime I've been at Blue conditions have been marginal and the facilticies aren't far behind...So much potenial but...............
  8. I live near BC and I had some 20" drifts in my driveway.I'd say total of about 10" of snowfall.

  12. I like riding on the fresh blown stuff...Maybe just groom certain areas....
  13. I've ridin in Austria a couple of times(Kitzbuhel)...It's a totally different vibe(not in a bad way). The Alps are fuckin awesome, plus the town is like 900 some years old.You could ski/ride to a different town for lunch, then ride back. They had a great bus/shuttle system. The scenery, old world towns, and awesome food were a plus to the riding.Language was never a problem. The party started as soon as the lift opened.I took a run down the famed Hahnenkamm world cup course which was way cool.
  14. As said before,Blue has great potential.I think it needs a huge injection of $$$$$$$$$.Mountain biking and frisbee golf in the summer are OK,but it doesn't bring in the amount of money you really need for improvements. You need to find people(corperate) to invest in it.You have to get people to want to go there for more than one day,so hotel/lodging is a must. You also want them to come back so snow condition/facilities(lodge,bar,resturant,etc) must be nice. Those facilites can go year round also. The die hard skier/snowboarder might say "we don't care about the lodge etc.,we just want better snow/grooming/open early, close late",but people with $$$(not all) want the whole package. All you have to do is look at Bear Creek to see what can be done.Just remember everything comes with a price.
  15. While I agree with the statement "YOU MAKE YOUR FUN WHERE EVER YOU are comfortable"...Sometimes it's worth it to step out of that zone once and awhile. Maybe just do one or two runs on the east side when no one is around. You don't have to do it at mach3 speed. Give it a try you might just enjoy it.Plus you will be using some different muscles which will be benificial to your fitness program.
  16. Coditions were great today, but was a little dissapointed that everything except Sasquatch was groomed out.I can see grooming the flats, but anything that had pitch should have been let go.
  17. Great Weather for opening day..Snow was good...no death cookies...I think I counted ten rails and a small jump...Everything from Kodiak over was open
  18. I'm there at opening also.
  19. I almost bought a house in Harlem..Nice area
  20. I taught snowboarding for about 14 years and never got paid more than $10/hour for a private lesson(most of the time less). It really is kinda dumb to get lessons through the ski school, when with a little effort you can hire somwone direct(for any level of skiing/riding) The one thing that was great about ski school was it got you introductions(mostly with parents). If there kids had a great time skiing/riding with you, you knew they would probably come back and ask for you. Many of these parents would tip rather well.(many of these lessons were for more than an hour also)If you got lucky you would get a couple of these a year. There were a couple of years I made $$$$$$ in tips.I would do plenty of lessons outside of ski school at other mountains too. So if you are really interested in lessons I don't think it would be too hard to find a qualified instructor..Do your research.....
  21. Well said Glenn.
  22. +1 on the track days...Tons of cool motorsports stuff goes on at Laguna Seca(as I am sure you are aware of).. I always felt money spent on tavel was money well spent.
  23. Jeremy Jones has a great segment in a DVD titled "Lines"..It's about big mountain riding,no park stuff. One of my favorite DVDs to watch.
