  1. Nice bronski at the end.....Gettin' ready for Blue...Major stoke to go riding.
  2. Cool....I always thought Elk has the best Eastern PA terrain.
  3. Since the lifts aint runnin I'm off to Blue til you open.....
  4. Those jumps are cool fo sho....But I wonder if that snow could have been used to get lift access open............
  5. I wear a Burton Ronin jacket. It's only a 5/5 but it works well for me.It was tough finding a color/style I liked.I'm not into all the print/lots of exterior pockets/zippers/fur hood thing.Just wanted a basic earth toned/one color shell. It's a bullet proof jacket.I've always felt Burton made durable soft goods, although they can get very pricey.
  6. Anybody ever ride a pair of these? I'm think about pullin the trigger on a set.I know about the technology, but I'd like to hear some opinons/thoughts on them.
  7. What's a "shredder board"? Have you tried to Email any companies with your questions? If you want to check out some alpine snowboard stuff try bomberonline chrisklug.com
  8. If your sweating for three hours you're missing one of the benifits of layering......Take a layer off so your not sweating....The goal is not to sweat! Doesn't JJ/BB run one or two demo days a year?..you're there every day.
  9. If you're into just cruising/carving hard pack check out an alpine board.
  10. I taught at Doe Mt/BC for about 14+ years and we got paid by the lesson. We had scheduled lessons and if we didn't didn't get a lesson we could go ride until the next scheduled lessons. You had scheduled times to be there and if you didn't teach you didn't get any pay(but you did get to ride a lot)There were maybe two riders that were full time and that didn't start until about two or three years ago. I aways did think of it as play land.
  11. Want a job with non stop action...Blue Mt ski patrol....
  12. Why would moving it make that side of the mountain worthless?
  13. Thought I would bring this to the top.Only used on one trip...'06 model,..price drop to $75
  14. I worked there....Last year you got 1 dependant pass if you had no IRS dependants....If you had IRS dependants you could get up to 4 of them for your dependants. I think the dependant thing goes on at a lot of ski areas......
  15. Why is that an insult? That was a great perk for working there.
  16. No doubt park rides bring in a lot of $$.I still think they are in the minority in the cash flow for the season.BB doesn't have the whole wedding/corperate thing going on as does BC which bring in major cash flow.It really comes down to the weather and logistics of it all. I think BC has done a pretty good job of balance between park riders and the beginner/family outing crowd,so I don't think we'll see a permanent expansion of the park.Yea I know they did stuff on Timberline, but that was the very end of the season.
  17. BC is about more than skiing/riding to management. They have all that corperate/wedding stuff now. To open a hike park they would have to staff it with ski patrol/park staff/etc. .It would be great PR directed at the park rider, but I doubt you will see it happen.I could be wrong though.................
  18. A couple of years ago I bought a season pass, but then ended up working there. They refunded my pass money ....although it took a month or so to get it back. I'm sure they still do this.
  19. I agree...It all seems to be about park...........Except I think Elk wins in the terrian dept..
  20. Some of the episode descriptions are pretty funny.... " snowboarding punks wreak havoc on the mountain" "The search for a deadly weapon has the mountain on edge" " A fight in the lift line could lead to an arrest, and the search is on for a hit-and-run snowboarder" "Plus, one drunk skier isn't happy to hear that it's last call." "One young girl takes a nasty spill but falls even harder for the patroller looking after her. "
  21. I don't think it's cable length, but the amount of space that the top and bottom stations take up...could be wrong though..
  22. Just buy what you like.I feel for the past couple of years clothing design(colors and style) have gone down hill. They always seem to have stuff in some earth tones though. To me that's classic and will never go out of "style". It's there job to tell you what you need..and if you buy into that then they have done there job.
  23. You just need to learn how to ride them.
