  1. maybe the rain will scare away the crowds this weekend? i doubt it, but i can have wishful thinking since ill be up in the area this weekend and most likely skiing i remember the flag being there the other week, unless i was seeing things? anyway ill let you guys know how it is/goes...if you see a guy in a yellow jacket that kind of resembles CB's ranger jacket, a black helmet, and white oakley goggles its probably me
  2. Whats unfortunate is that all the snow that exists off the trials is going to be melted away from today someone will have to let me know if its all gone or not, and give a status update later in the week.......as i look to heading there later this week By the way i went saturday and conditions were pretty good, crowds were less than i expected, the wooded areas started to get skied off by the afternoon which i found out the unfortunate way by skiing over a rock. Otherwise even by the end of the day the trails were still holding up well.
  3. gotta love that college pass
  4. I did that to a friend of mine when we were skiing there, it was funny as all hell because he got tangled up in it.
  5. i was also in a bad mood earlier because im sick Anyway, as you guys have probably noticed...I'm new to this whole forum. I joined last year but didnt really visit it much. I'll most likely be at JFBB most of the time because my friends all snowboard (sigh). However, I'll be at blue every now and then as well. I'll post when I'll go probably, so say hi if you see me.
  6. wow i was only asking someone who used them what they thought
  7. how are snowblades? i've always wanted to try them but never got around to it...they look like a fun change of pace
  8. i wish blue didnt kill student discounts on weekends
  9. well, im glad im not the only one having the same toss up on where to head tomorrow
  10. I would think if it was this Saturday they would have publicized it by now.
  11. So I never made it out there last year due to money issues and some other things. However I definitely plan on going this year. When I do I'll let you guys know and post some pics and stuff.
  12. Anyone have any insight on when they will open JF?
  13. I hope they open on the date I guessed Dec 14th so i can win those free passes. Would have guessed the 15th but someone beat me to it. I wouldn't auction them off though =P If it's free its for me.
  14. Dec 14th
  15. ive been north, i wanted to try a place "west" that wasnt ridiculously far away and heard good things about here anyway, unless terrible weather hits next week...i should be making the trip around the 22-25 or something like that
  16. Thanks, Forgot to ask one more thing, I know I could look this up, but I figured I'd ask people who know the area. Where is there to stay around there?
  17. Appreciate the feedback guys Anyway, yeah if I made the trip it would most likely be around the last weekend of February. I saw those pictures and it looks quite interesting/challenging. As long as I can get one of my buddies to go with me I'll probably make the trip. Ill let you guys know if I end up doing so or not.
  18. Hopefully someone reads this an replys back in less than a week Anyway, I was thinking about making a trip over there. What is the place like? Hows the quality of trails/snow? Hows the terrain, compared to the "poconos"? I am a fairly good skier and hope there are some good runs there. I saw some pictures from a thread someone made last year, and it looks kind of sweet. I could care less about the 3rd world lodge, as long as people are friendly and its a good time...thats all im looking for. How far is it from the Philadelphia area?
  19. Hm, forget to mention my edges were in serious needs of sharpening...hah that probably was half my problem like i said either way it was a good time
  20. With the crowds, that was tough to do. And that ice and hardpack expanded from the center out as the day went on. I mean overall it was good, especially in the morning...I was just stating what I noticed.
  21. I was there Saturday and after about noon the ice and hardpack started showing up everywhere as well
  22. haha thats happened to me on cliffhanger and pocono raceway, and when i was doing it there was no one on either trail
  23. With 2-3 trails open only on one side of the mountain from top to bottom, and all those busloads of kids there tonight and last night...it felt like the song they should have been playing on the terrain park instead of that techno stuff was "let the bodies hit the floor". When you have that many people being "cattle chuted" down a handful of trails on only the west side of the mountain, injuries are bound to happen (unless you dont consider what they have open right now as a "little" open). Just my 2 cents
  24. depressing eh? i think so
