  1. Unlikely with his rose colored googles on.
  2. And Jackson Hole, Crested Butte, Steamboat, Powder Mt, Snowbird, Snowbasin, Brighton, and somewhere the fuck in Switzerland, blows VT away, especially the 2 Mountains you have a pass to, (they were voted by Ski mag to be the 2 biggest shitshows for MLK Weekend, and have the least tasty cocoa) Again, personally, im not sure if skiing Okemo and Mt Snow, beats PA, with the travel associated with it. Especially after the loss the East coast suffered over the past week. Its gonna take a little while to right the ship anywhere on the EC. Travel up a little further North, and you will get to something way better, and maybe worth all the driving around. I'm not hating on Okemo either, my parents had a slopeside condo there for years. In fact, they had a townhouse there too. Both slopeside at Okemo, in VT. The one place, you could ski to/from the door. It was right off the Satchem Trail, In Vermont, at Okemo. I think i skied Okemo 3 times maybe. I did stay at Slopeside Okemo once and drive to Stowe and Sugarbush, in Vermont, to ski New England powder. Okemo is a good mountain for your kids to ski at, its not a super challenging place. Did i mention Vermont, Okemo, and Slopeside enough? i hope so, i was laying it on pretty thick.
  3. Perfect weekend to be at those two resorts!
  4. From what i have seen from pics of Vermont yesterday, Blue survived pretty well, we are lucky the have the snowmaking system they do. It looks like winter returns on Thursday with good snowmaking temps overnight. Look past Sunday and we see some really nice temps. Hope that holds. Watching the Beltsville Bouy for something on Saturday.
  5. if Glenn and Tom where there, it would have been like old times. Fuckers.
  6. The best thing they ever did with Floyds was let it bump up. And that was 10 years ago for like a week. @C1erArt, whats the off trail stuff like these days? I went back to JF once about 3 years ago, not much going on off trail, and i got bored pretty quick. It was great about 7-8 years ago, but i saw a decline in that stuff to where i was cleaning out the E-glade to make it skiable.
  7. Thats a joke right?
  8. Probably when we see sidewinder and switchback as well.
  9. This would be accurate. or at least 60-70% accurate. EPAWA says rain comes in Sat pm, leaves Sun am. every other forecast shows rain both sat and sun. Forecast tomorrow should have a better solution.
  10. Sure. Yeah. Maybe. I guess?? Weather dependent.
  11. Watch for snow squalls. radar is pretty active.
  12. I feel like i will be able to finish rebuilding the front end on my car, add the heat duct i need in my basement, maybe go tacoma shopping, and maybe even have time to get to Home depot and bed bath and beyond. Not sure i will have time though.
  13. It’s snowing In Malvern too
  14. Yeah, the ski resort, although near and dear to many, is the least of their problems.

    Elk Day 2020

I will probably become wildly unpopular at work if i try to take the day off 2 days after i get back from JH. i will save getting that treatment for the possible powder day at Blue.
  16. Dont panic. Its just a little snow. you should be able to see your lines by tomorrow afternoon. Gas up the mower!
  17. Wait, we were supposed to ski today?
  18. Did they manage to get DW full width? Asking for Skitoolive. Thx.
  19. Try to get to Powder than. Not that any others would be so similar, but Powder is just a different experience. This way you wont have to deal with the Canyon Rd, that just seems to be turning into a shit show lately.
  20. No shit, really? Taos better than PA? Thats the fucking dumbest statement i have heard in a long time. Taos on an inch of snow with snowblades, and rocks in your boots would be better than PA. I'm not sure that you just dont get that we all understand Blue isnt just like a western resort. But its location is why we ski it. A day to the Catskills, well, i guess if its gonna be epic, but its a pretty decent drive for most, and if im gonna gas up the truck to go ski, might as well bypass Hunter, Platty, etc, and head a little further to Northern VT. But at the same point, maybe before gassing up the truck, maybe just jump on a plane and head out west, where you will get the best skiing. Do i think Platty might be a good time? Sure, but is the drive gonna be worth it, when Blue is so close? We get that you are thrilled with your Epic Pass, and will ski no where else that you would have to pay for a pass.
  21. Are you skiing somewhere else on the other days? i totally agree with all of this, except for one thing. If its an extra day, i think Powder would be good. If you are trying to get the most out of a day at Powder, having someone that knows the place would make for a perfect day. Dont take anyone with a snowboard there though. Lots of nooks and crannies there for sure. Powder Mt is a really neat place to experience. Nothing like skiing powder country, ending up on the access rd, and being picked up by a bus to get back up. Brighton is just so much fun. Groomers are great there, up and down, twists and turns, its kind of like you are skiing in the trees when you are on the trails. I feel like Snowbasins groomers, also excellent, are more wide open, more straight runs with consistent pitch.
  22. i will be the first one to admit im a fair weather type of skier, skiing in the rain doesnt have that much appeal to me.. I mean, unless im at Huntah. Saturday looks unlikely, but not out of the question. Sunday looks like the day.
  23. Chains.
