in hopes that i can prevent anyone from jumping off of a bridge, the Blue Mountain Snowmaking machine has been fired back up.
-
Need to get people into that paid parking so they can feed the snowmaking meter.

disregard. Could go down the wormhole on that one, but this is a family friendly site.

Blowing at JF and Montage as well, but just because they are, doesnt mean it isnt a PPL thing. it could be a Palmerton grid thing, or just a straight up Palmerton thing. If the grid around Blue is overloaded with Palmerainians charging up their Teslas, and electric heat, they will shut down or fav mountain. Who knows, maybe electricity has trouble getting over the mountain when its cold.

when i looked sometime around 5:30am they were on. Im pretty sure they were on Rasins, definitely saw some blow over onto main from like a gun around where the weenie wagon is. i was kinda surprised they were on based on temps/PPL/Blue Mt, etc.

so, yeah, how does either of those white cars leave? Coming soon to a ski resort near you.......

did you go see a doctor, or just hoping the problem will go away on its own? -
Everybody that skied today had cookies and some sugar, so why not stick with the theme.

Got a good look at upper main from the lift, it helped that the lift stopped a few times in that area. It looked so bad i made a hard pass on it. Lazy and paradise good. Saw what looked like open rooftop box debris on my way up the hill on my way out. We really need some more trails open.

i think ikoners are not passholders. i think they will need to work on that, but i'm on board with the changes at least from this side of the internet.

Turn on gps, turn off brain. i have found people using a gps and they were in the wrong state. no lie. all of our trucks have trackers on them, so occasionally i will see one, and be like what the fuck is that guy doing there?

The only tech i see is a radar to tell them how deep the base is, as far as i could tell, from what i watched. As cool as it is, its only as good as the people that use it, and how they use it. Every piece of equipment has a huge computer screen on it these days. Its a problem for the older generation. you know, the guys that wont use an iphone, and struggle with a flip phone....those types. I have guys at work that struggle with sending emails from an iphone. And just blatantly wont do it because its "new" and it will take them 20 minutes to learn how. We have a really expensive brand new paver that we struggle with, because its less levers and cables, and all done by wires, and, you guessed it, has a huge computer screen on it, and does fancy shit like self adjust based on points you put in it, or reads off of a curb. Lots of tech for a bunch of low tech guys. Cant teach an old dog, new tricks.

Yeah i dont think Blue will be unlimited on the Ikon, even with an upgrade. I think since it was announced kinda late in the year, next year they will be "officially" Ikon. Like skiitooloves and his double black diamond skier twins, he has already given us warning he is going Ikon. And from this past event, i dont think the Ikon thing is going to bode well for us.

i know they have pivots, for what ever reason, they dont carry spx's for whatever reason. But your main question, i dont know what colors they have or which flair package is on them.
-
Its like Groundhog day everyday at Blue. They start the lift 45 mins before opening, and just cross their fingers. Hopefully they will learn from this. Run them all night if they have to. Pay someone handsomely to stay there at night. what ever up charge that is in electric, or wage, i am sure is way better than the tongue lashing they are getting now.

No doubt. I dont think there was one resort that wasnt basically over crowded. But Blue pretty much took the cake for as far as i am concerned, with their lift ops, and that ridiculous move to close free fall. I totally get that it was crowded. overcrowded would be an understatement. They certainly found their weakness, and its their lift ops, and ultimately, management. The OG 6 should have been plan B, ready to go at any time for a while now, and they showed it was barely on their radar. I dont know what ancient indian burial ground the lifts at Blue are built on, but we all know they are cursed. they have lift issues all the time, and i get that shit breaks, but they were not prepared, and it happened at the worst time, although the quad was probably preventable if they had someone there before like 7:30 am to turn it on. @benm aint making shit up.......they were more concerned about the paid parking than the lift situation. Its like showing up to Dunkin Donuts on Valentines day for the heart shaped donuts, only to find out they didnt make them. "you had one job to do."

i didnt break down the ensembles. good catch.
