  1. My hope is that you dont need an explanation for this.
  2. I do think he was better on SNL. I dont hate all of his movies. I thought he was pretty good in "daddys home". Maybe because the movie didnt totally revolve around him? Dunno.
  3. i like to watch cars go around in circles. I get that alot of people dont get it, but i will never comprehend watching golf on TV, so to each his own. Dover is one of those tracks though, that someone who doesnt quite get it, should go to. When they start or restart the race, you sort of think to yourself, "there aint now way all those cars are going to make it around that first turn". It really looks like there will be a pile up around every turn. Unless you are going to be in the infield, dont go to Pocono expecting an interesting race. you just cant see that much of the track.
  4. Yup. thats it. I'm jealous of you.
  5. I miss TTC6. I had him believe i flew helicopters for a living. He was big time into phones, htc if i recall. i like my phone and all, but i think that guy slept with his. There were also a few fake TTC6 post like maybe 2 years ago which were hilarious. Him rescuing Suge Knight on the NE extension was a classic too.
  6. The amount of time i spend on leaves is a completely different equation though. I hate leaves.
  7. I cut my lawn in the poconos July 4th every year, maybe labor day if im in the mood, and thats it. And it doesnt look like the jungle when i cut it.
  8. I have 4. 3 on concrete pads, and one on an extension of the my deck. I hear this one more than any other one i have. Its not really that it vibrates, but it does make noise, so i sort of wish i didnt put it basically on my deck, it seems like the noise does resonate some through the house.
  9. Same here. One good resource for employees you might want to look into is PAcareerlink - https://www.pacareerlink.pa.gov/jponline/Common/LandingPage/Employer This is basically tied into the PA unemployment website. People on unemployment are pretty much required to search for a job, unless they have a definite recall date from their current employer. I was trying to steal a few disgruntled employees over the winter out from under our competition that laid off employees. Of course, we had people laid off too. You need to find the guy that hates his current job, or someone who lost their job of 20 years because the company closed its doors. Tough find either way. i dont envy small businesses like yours that have to constantly struggle to keep 2-3 employees. And then there is the whole health benefit dealio which is such a big deal. My neighbors kid after like 10 years in the landscaping business finally called it quits, he had just had enough. Had guys driving his trucks last year with no drivers license. Built up a good business, lots of customers, lots of equipment, but says he just cant put up with it anymore. Also, he just got kicked off his parents healthcare policy, so getting a decent job with bennys was a big deal.
  10. Mini splits? i'm a huge fan. They dont dehumidify as good as a central system on cool, so i always ran the one in my living room on "dry", and it took care of the humidty and cooled the room perfectly. Being as they are Mitsubishi's, i would assume they have a really good rating to heat at a pretty low ambient temp. Most of mine heat down to 5 or -5. At their worst, a heat pump is still typically more efficient than electric baseboard.
  11. When you hire managers to handle the employees. Yeah, pretty much the employee thing sucks. 50% of our employees are great, and have been with the company a long time. The next 25% are basically doing just what they need to in order to keep their job. The last 25% are people we would replace in a heart beat, but they have a drivers license, and they show up so we keep them around until someone better walks in the door. Always hiring, which means employees are leaving because its not the ice cream shop job they thought it might be, or they are getting fired. Its constant both ways. Rarely are we upset when an employee leaves. Truck drivers are a whole different, fucked up kind of breed, and most of them are pussies. Truck drivers are really hard to find. Unfortunately most good, sane, mostly criminal background free people are employed. 1 in 10 people we interview might work out. It sucks.
  12. I have resisted the home a/c thus far, even though the humidity NMSKI spoke of played havoc with my hair.
  13. Holy crap. Did skitoolive help you book this flight? that sucks.
  14. Yeah, i'm on pins and needles over here about this as well.
  15. Crazy. its like 60 degrees here in beautiful Chester County.
  16. For those playing along at home, that like the idea of the lower lot being paved - Just to throw down 1.5"-2" of blacktop on the lot to the right as you enter, and the interior of the lot on the left, inside the already paved ring road, would cost about $300,000. The entire lower lot, $600,000. But thats kind of a waste of money with what Toast mentioned above. They probably wouldnt be able to pull permits to pave unless they improved drainage and grade. Water that falls on blacktop has to go somewhere, and normally water that falls on your lot has to stay on your property, not run off into neighboring properties. Drainage, subgrade, stone, base and top, way, way, way over a million bucks. I guess the next time we are all stuck on the 6, or its moving 10' at a time, or its down for the day, we can at least talk about how kick ass the surface of the parking lot is if they were to pave it over fixing lifts/infrastructure first. .
  17. Why do you think Salty is "too tired" or "wants to sleep in" instead of going skiing?
  18. I really like skiing, but lets face it, i kinda feel like skiing Blue is what i do in between skiing "other mountains," and by that i mean skiing on slopes comprised of snow dropped from heaven in large quantities, where the suckiest day is one where it hasnt snowed in 4 days. Blues conditions swing from sucksville to awesome and back again several times a season. And when it is awesome, its still just Blue. Same 8 trails over and over again. Glades at Blue are just pretty comical as well. The best day i ever had at blue was what, like February of 2013? Hasnt been quite a day there i remember to match that, a couple close, but nothing that good that i can remember in 5 years. Sking 200 dogshit runs in PA doesnt come close to the big smile i have on my face in one day out west. Skiing 1,021 runs at Camelback in a season, might not be something i personnaly would be super proud of. And i dont do stats, because all it will prove, is i ski in PA too much.
  19. There are people at work here that take off work every year on their birthday. I dont get it. I will be the first to line up for some birthday cake, but its just another day. Typically my family will get together to have dinner for someones birthday, but hardly ever on the actual day. sometimes 3 weeks later.
  20. I cant agree with this more.
  21. I find the whole "you said it, we listened" thing over the pond skim/weather thing last week a really slick move too, but in an odd way. A whole bunch of "internet weather forecasters" (read - anybody with a weather app) told them it was going to rain on Sunday. Everybody knows Blue likes to close when it rains, yet everyone on FB was more than willing to point out to Blue that it was going to rain. I work in a weather dependent business, and i know better than to tell someone 5-6 days prior what the weather is going to do, because most likely it will change. There were also people on FB saying exactly what time it was going to stop raining on Sunday, 5 days ahead of time. LOL. Due to some other circumstances, i wasnt able to ski the past two weekends, so i probably have a different outlook on this than most. I skied quite a few days at Blue this year. I really have no idea how many days, i dont keep track, its not worth my time to keep track of it, all i know is i paid probably a little more for 4 lift tickets in Utah as i did for the season pass at Blue, and i was able to give another PASR a day pass.
  22. Rain man is losing his touch. None of the above, but i have told you why.
  23. You will get past the greens. ski with people that are above your level some. watch and learn. Take a lesson. take the time on your own to hone in on tips people give you. Rinse and repeat. There are alot of people here that can give solid advice on technique and equipment. Absorb it. Research. This isnt a bad place if your skin is just a little thick. Enjoy.
