I dont think im a good candidate for working at home, if i could, which i cant. I would be on Ebay all day long. Soooo many pairs of skis to buy.......
-
There wasnt much light that day. it was snowing, so it was kinda flat light, so you know, white-ish i guess.
-
That day was fan-fucking-tastic. I was skiing on one of Mbikes 6 day pass thingys. i wasnt a passholder at that point. It was probably only the 3rd or 4th day i ever skied Blue.
-
Hope things improve for you quickly Root. I'm on board with everyone else who thinks you should email, or maybe email and call Blue about this. I think a phone call would go further with the right person, than just an email. Last time i skied Blue, i was blatantly run into on homestretch, of all places, by a person on the ski team. I would like to give someone some facetime about this. If ski patrol isnt marking this shit, what are they doing when they are "checking the mountain out" in the AM? I will be the first to say that ski patrol steps up when there is an issue, but i think they lack motivation (or something) to prevent these things. Starting to think ski patrol, and ski club are the same thing. Dont forget to mention last year when they should not have opened Razors when it was an ice skating rink, or the unmarked bumps on dreamweaver.

You dont get it. i doubt you ever will either.

Would have been nice to get a decent snowfall overnight. that would have pushed me into going this morning, but i'm not sure it was really even snowing there this morning when i looked. I will probably ski Friday am. How do you think the glades will be? asking for a friend.
-
So place your bets. I never get this right, but im gonna go with same price as last year.
-
Maybe.

Have you seen the pics above? its really pretty easy to tell when a helmet has had an impact. I would rather see someone wear a helmet that may protect them, rather than no helmet. No helmet wont protect shit. Just stop thinking of ways to sue a ski resort all the time, ok?
-
You are actually correct with this. If a patroler saw 1 person skiing fast on Paridise, and 1 person doing pizza out of control on challenge, the skier on Paradise will be stopped, or at least whistled at. Patrol could probably work on preventing accidents a little better.

Seeing people without helmets kind of makes me crazy, and in my mind, i question their sanity. Saw people in JH skiing trees without helmets. I get that these people are the best skiers on the mountain (in their minds), but accidents happen. I sort of find it crazy too, that not all Blue employees where a helmet either. Set the example. Rental equipment should include a helmet, it shouldnt be optional. What is there to stop the first time skier from going in the park and making a mess of him/herself? not much. Maybe im in the minority here, but it seems like the falls is becoming more and more of a shit show as well these days. I know there is a sign at the bottom of lazy, its not great, but there is a sign to try to keep beginners off falls, but most beginners are looking right in front of them, not up and around for signs. They really need to do something better there to keep beginners from continuing straight down lazy to the falls. Accidents are going to happen. Not just in skiing either.

Dont worry, pictures are much better for me. I couldnt get through either post.

Great trip, really fun time skiing and hanging out with Jeff, Doug, Mike and Tom. A little bit of me wishes my timing was a little different, but had 4 great days of skiing, that cant be replicated on the east coast That being said, this will go down as my first and worst travel experience ever. Pretty much everybody has had travel issues. My flight from Dallas almost didnt attempt to go to JH. It left late, got to JH with no vis, and then went to SLC. After about an hour at slc, we went back to JH. I spent alot of time on an airplane that day. My tolerence for sitting still is about 45 mins. This was a rough day for me. The worst was Mike having to drive from SLC to JH. Jeff, Doug and Mike spent most of the day at newark after thier flight was canned Tom is getting back to Phl maybe 2 hrs before me, although he left 6 1/2 hrs before me. I think his flight out was a-ok though. No Saltyant BS complaining here, like when has burger isnt centered on the bun or theres only 2 pickles instead of 3. Wont be looking for any gift cards from anyone, hell i dont even know where my skis and undies are at this point. What i do know, is this is part of what we do, flying around in the winter has its risks, it altered some times, made for a long day at times, but so far didnt fuck up anybodys trip yet. No second thoughts here if all this was a good idea or not. it was. Merder the Perder, fellas.

That made my headache worse.

Day 4. Last ski day for me. Great day. Just a little bit of snow fell overnight, and it was just enough to make the morning groomers silky smooth, and put down a nice refresh layer in the trees. Ran a bunch of groomers off Thunder and Sublet. I missed yesterdays run down Saratoga bowl, so we headed over in a round about way to Teton quad where Dooglas left for his snacks. NMSKI and Atomic made a detour down Washakie Glade, I choose to stick to the groomer knowing my legs were gonna go away fast, and i really wanted to check out Saratoga Bowl. Up Apres Vous to Saratoga Bowl. Fun stuff in Saratoga, trees, bumps, what have you. Good stuff. This didnt seem like a heavily traveled area, and its probably because the traverse back out is spicey. Back out at the lift, Dooglas caught up to us. Back up Apres-Vous. With the forecast for the next few days looking snowy, Doug and Jeff, called it, and went to the Unkept Moose to grab us a table. Legs were feeling OK, and Tom is always up to make that one last run. At the top, we planned on just dabbling in and out of the trees, making out way to the bottom. We heading back into the Washakie Glades, which were fun, but popular. We were taking our time, and about halfway down, we decided to try to stay in the trees all the way to the bottom. We made it about as far down as possible, ending in a very untraveled area that had lots of perder in it, which made me think we would end up in a creek at anytime. No creeks and we made it out unscathed. Some pics from today. I think the camera on my phone is lacking in the clarity department, but here we go.

Jeff had already helped me out by downing at least 2 slices after his sandwich and fries....dude can eat. Guy admitted he had his eye on it for like 10 mins, told his buddy he was gonna end up eating that slice. He was pretty slick. Lol.
