Nobody can get to JFK in 2 hrs 8 mins. Google maps and gps’s dont acount for the fact that NYC is just the most fucked up place to drive in the world. Going to JFK to fly direct is conterproductive.

I have no horse in any kind of JFBB-Blue Mt race, but here is my take being as i was a passholder for years. I think JFBB are now the red-headed step child of Peak Resorts. I'm pretty sure when they bought Mt Snow, they took snowmaking equipment from Frost to Mt Snow. I'm pretty sure they did the same thing when they bought Hunter, but it think this time it was equipment from BB. Why else would it take 50+ days to get BB 100% open this year? Thats a tiny little place. Granted all snowmaking there has been fan guns for quite some time now, but 50 days? Peak used to focus on day trip type resorts. I think they got a different taste in their mouth after Mt Snow, and then when they bought Hunter, and the taste is good. I think the park scene as a whole is on a trend downward, and BB isnt looking quite as good on paper anymore, and Frost aint setting the world on fire either. There was kind of a huge "lack of caring" in my last 2 years at Frost. They went from make some cool shit off trail skiable, to make snow, spin lifts, close early. What do you do with 2 resorts that might show a profit on paper under the Peak umbrella, but might not look like winners on the open market? I can be way off base here, but i think peak has to be looking at these 2 like, what do we do with them now? It would be interesting to see if Peak will be a player in Jay and Burke.

I dont think Peak has any interest in BM. Its also my opinion they dont have much interest in JFBB at this point either.

Seems like an absolute no brainer to do the cheaper one if you are a season pass holder at any of the unlimited mountains.

I love the people that tell them they will take their business elsewhere next year. So next year, the Sunday of Presidents Weekend there will only be 14,999 people that show up.

Let me check. On the flip side of that though, is that i have this work trip thing in the middle of March, in Vegas. Depending on whats going on in Utah, i may drive/fly/hitchhike to make some turns. Interesting development that just happened today. I'm gonna start really paying attention to how things work out with the buoy predictions.

I do hate this weather. It bums me out like its just coming to an end. But, i have been reading alot of this from many different places - (not weather apps). OverviewToday has seen many temperature records go down across the nation with record warmth in the eastern US and record cold in the interior west. In the local area, record highs have already been set at Dulles Airport (IAD) at 71 degrees (1971) and others could fall in the next couple of hours and Wednesday promises to result in numerous record high readings across the Mid-Atlantic. It’ll turn much cooler on Thursday in the Mid-Atlantic region and there will be multiple shots at rain during the late week and weekend; especially, to the north of the PA/MD border. Longer term, signs continue to point to big changes arriving in early March which should lead to more colder-than-normal conditions in the Mid-Atlantic region and perhaps even more opportunities for accumulating snow. i got the confirmation email. In True Blue fashion, it doesnt specify that the pass is for 18/19. This can cause an issue when using your pass at another mountain like JH, to get discounts. And on that topic, If JH offers 40% off next year, and you ski for 7-8 days, it basically pays for the BM pass. Cool.

But any mildly grumpy person with a keyboard could write a bad review, even if it wasnt true. Thats the problem with the internet.

i never would have thought it would be cheaper than last years pass. Before they announced the price, they said on FB that it would pay for itself in 6 visits. Maybe they are looking at it like they want to get the people that ski 4 times a year to spend more. Makes it pretty damn cheap for us though.

Sunday was the perfect storm. Holiday weekend, snow Saturday night. These things will happen. It was one day. Blue didnt make it a holiday, nor did they make is snow. Clearly some people were gonna get screwed. The only winners in Sundays shit show were the people that showed up early. Crowds will be lighter from here on out.

That makes sense. This person makes it out like no laptops what so ever. So her bad review was overdone. Probably most bad reviews are blown out of proportion.

i read these too. I dont really understand what the issue was were this lady wasnt allowed to use her laptop. Thats just odd. FB is mainly good for complaining. People should really take just a little time before they turn to social media to vent. Everybody is a tough guy behind a computer. We get alot of complaints VIA email, some really funny ones too, were people dont have any idea what they are talking about, but like to think because they are a homeowner they know every aspect of construction, and the contractor is always doing things wrong. Normally when someone is confronted or asked to meet one on one the tone somehow becomes different. I remember reading one about this past weekend, someone complaining that they didnt groom Challenge for Sunday.
