Because its like skiing in Vermont.
-
We will have a rental area at the PASR ski shack that you can browse through.
-
But not as good as the spinach pie. oh...wait......
-
I have ridden the long haul i think on 2 separate occasions. The one time i was there, conditions were primo on White lightning or boomer, which ever one was left ungroomed. It was, to quote johnny law, "tits Magee". i lapped that all day.

In the end, its all skiing in PA. Each has its good points and bad points to be weighed out by the skier. If slow lifts piss you off, then its off to Blue and Camelback. If crowds at 10 AM arent your thing, Montage and Frost would be a go to. Back to the "what should Schif do for a pass" post......Score some discount tix to Blue. (see skisalottolive) then, if you like what you see, PASR ski shack, beer on tap, dancing girls, good people in the lot, etc, buy the pass in late Feb or whenever they throw it out for ski the balance of this year and next year pass deal. Just my worthless 2 cents.

if this is true, skistolivealot will need to go on suicide watch. That will definitely have an impact on his vert and $$/run.
-
Yes. unless of course it impinges upon the space we have alotted for the dancing girls.

I have "insider" information that fall arrives like gangbusters around the 21st-22nd. Possibly some snow showers for Halloween.
-
Yup. We are on the same page. Big time like. See everyone, this is why i have Toast heading up the decorating committee.

Stats....dont get me started. And for the record i dont keep track. I skied 3 days out in Utah last year. Almost every Saturday and Sunday of the season. toss in a few Fridays, and the week in between Christmas and New years. So, thats pretty fucking awesome. 35 days in PA, maybe? Wow. Wheres my fucking trophy? So, like 92% of my days were spent skiing in PA. Whoop-de-doo. 92% in PA. I think we all can agree skiing in PA is like the special olympics of skiing, except maybe for the very few good powder days we get in PA. So, is there really a big difference between Blue, Camelback And JFBB? no. its still skiing in PA. So, in doing all the above math, i have come to the conclusion, i ski in PA too much. That is the stat i want to work on. A good stat to keep track of, is what percentage of skiing you do outside of PA. For the win, just off of the top of my head, i put Barb and Moe at the top. GSS, Jeff and Law normally spend more time out west than others. I think Tarpon head was in VT a few times last year. Forgive me if you feel i left you off the list. Im not GSS, and cant remember the things he does.

A windmill will power a few LED lights. not the coffee maker i have in mind. Certainly wont heat the fry oil for the waffles either.
-
Aw man...no January discount. Boooo. Does frontier fly to JH?
-
Back to this question. i'm gonna need some electricity for the PASR shack.
-
i was surprised as to how un-crowded it was last year for the holiday week. That was a fun week.
-
Nothing spectacular at KOP today either. Lots and lots of Salamon x drives i think they were from last year.
-
I'm pointing to 2 great days that are blacked out on your Super Coupon Ski Card. so, those are 2 great days that you would have been at home with your thumb up your ass, since your cheap ass wouldnt dare buy a lift ticket during that week that is considered a Holiday, so suck it. I would say the days we had last year in December were good days. There were days i January i think it was when the snow wouldnt stay together and we had sugary conditions that were not great. So your statement that December days are "rarely great" insinuates that Jan/Feb days are great. i disagree.

Yeah, this day sucked......https://www.paskiandride.com/forums/topic/18984-montagna-blu-12-27/ And this day was fucking horrible too......https://www.paskiandride.com/forums/topic/18989-1229-snowing/

Are there light poles in Blues parking lot?
-
^^^^ see this is the kind of feedback im looking for on this. Toast heads up the decorating commitee.
-
This is kind of my vision here for those that need a visual on this. This would basically be placed where Jeff parks.
-
i will let road warrior #1 (Jlaw), and road warrior #2 (NMSKI) chime in on this as those guys rack up the miles.
-
Do it. Just do it. Stop over analyzing it. If i didnt buy a season pass, i would have such a hard time showing up and shelling out $60 bucks each time. it would probably keep me away actually. Keep in mind, the majority of us bought our passes for i think $449 last March. True, but thats like 200' away. i want to like open this thing up, fire up the grill, make some coffee, maybe store some illegal fireworks, etc.
-
I'm going to have to do some experimenting with a one shot Kerig, and an inverter. I have one on my truck, but im positive that one wont work. Or a really tiny generator. Dont neglect the whole convenience factor. Dollar wise, you are correct, but as i have stated before, and i think alot of other people agree, but i will always pay more for the convenience of something.
-
so, to take the apres ski activities one step further at Blue, since they have no problem with tailgating. Do you think it crosses the line to put up our own small shed, you know, keep a grill in there, small generator and some coffee making apparatus type stuff maybe? Maybe occasionally make our own waffles since the god damn waffle house is never open when i am there? Keep some folding chairs in it?

i was gonna say 8-9 for passholders, but probably the reality is that most people riding the 6 from 8-9 am on any given weekend day are passholders.
