  1. Just get your passes from the local ski shop. https://www.skinsee.com/ http://www.ajmotionsports.com/ Its my understanding all the ski shops have the same prices, so just pick one near you. and they are not vouchers, but actual lift tickets, so no waiting in lines at the resort. Liftopia has changed a little for the better, but i still hate it. i hate being locked in to a certain mountain for a certain day. Plus you will probably have to go to a certain window that you will not be able to find easily, with the voucher, (as long as you travel with a printer) or your phone, which at that window doesnt get a signal, so you have to try to connect to the mountains wifi, which is sketchy at best, and then produce your drivers license, and maybe even a birth certificate, while wasting what is most likely the best ski time of the day. Then once you have lugged your shit all over the place, dropping your poles four times, and loosing a glove along the way, in order to find the secret window, congratulations, you have saved $10.
  2. It would help if people would quit moving away........just sayin'.
  3. Like Feb 19th (???) 2014? That day was just like skiing in Vermont, without the drive.
  4. I always buy my pass for the lowest price. Been paying just a little over $500 for the past 7 yrs or so at JF/BB or Blue. I think the "100 day guarantee" is cool and all, but really, im sure they hit that more than not. I think probably all PA mountains, except Bear Creek, probably hit 100 days as an average each year. I dont know, seems like the car salesman saying "our cars come with 4 tires". Elk would be great if they would stop planting trees, and letting people ski in the trees. I get it though....Elk is probably close to you, makes the most sense for you to ski there....etc. Everyone has a reason to ski where they do.
  5. Its my opinion that the discount due to the 100 day thing of last year, puts that pass in the ball park of what it should really cost. But then again, Its like driving to Vermont, but without really driving to Vermont. no, wait, thats not right. Its like being in Vermont, but without the cold, and way less snow. no, again, thats not it. Its like skiing in Vermont, just look at our pass prices. There we go. Thats more like it.
  6. Lets hope the pattern flips mid November like everybody is talking about. Skiing in December this year would be sweet. Notice i didnt get greedy and say November.
  7. They have magically made the trip to Vermont considerably shorter.
  8. Went over with Dom. really good deals and way more than i thought they would have. Picked up a pair of new bindings with mounting super cheap. In true Blue Mountain fashion, there was a huge line to wait in.
  9. nice to see pictures of snow.
  10. Nice Barb. Seems like they are on the Poconos timeline. Amazed at how long it takes homes to get built up here too. Dont worry though, i think they could stop for a few weeks and still make the mid Feb finish date.
  11. uh- oh. hope they dont pull a Camelback.
  12. Omg! you have the Faberware 7 piece cookset?
  13. Based on the weather forecast, some place outside of PA.
  14. I'm pretty sure that deal ended 2-3 years ago. i looked around last year, one of the flights i booked, rebooked, and rebooked again had me out stupidly early in the day. so it was either visit a Morman museum, or go skiing. I'm not that into culture. Maybe Alta had some type of half day pass or something. i forget now.
  15. You are doing it wrong. On one of our trips to Utah, PC made it out in time to take advantage of the free lift ticket with same day flight. Brighton i believe. He had his skis and picked up a car.
  16. Groundhogs are horrible. i had one living under my shed for a while. Made my dog crazy just knowing he was under there. I had to get rid of that fucker after he made an appearance one day, and they went at it. Fortunately my dog won that battle. i have a trap for groundhogs, if you want to step up your trapping game. i doubt one would fit in your playskool "my first animal trap". let me know if you want to borrow.
  17. Must be awesome to be on the "in" with all the VT resorts. I will commemorate the occasion by putting on all my gear, pretend to stand in line with like 4000 other people, then go climb up and down my stairs repeatedly.
  18. i think its where they do training and certification for level 3 tubing.
  19. I didnt see anything to get too excited about either, but i dont have the "in" at the VT resorts like Ride Does. Not sure why i even looked since i dont care what Killington is doing.
  20. Not saying run right out and do this, but you can buy points. right now if you buy 5000, you get 2500 additional. cost is 137.50. Is this a great deal? i dont know. What i do know is, booking, rebooking, and then rebooking some more last year with points, was easy, and i didnt lose points or have to deal with vouchers or anything. Hotel? well that was a different subject. i clearly fucked that one up.
  21. some pretty decent prices on flights from phl to slc right now.
  22. Snowmobiles? i dont know if they are good for the economics of a ski resort. They might trash the place up a little. Ride؟؟DE would have more on that.
  23. Seems to me the winter/ski, summer/golf is a decent play if going for a 4 season type resort thing. Add some Barbie Jeep racing and you really have something.
