  1. Whats worth driving for? Its early season, most likely any place will be pretty crowded, i mean, except where you go, that will be ski on every time. Killington has like 4 trails, i mean, sure if i was within earshot i would be all over what ever there was to offer. if im gonna drive a bunch, i want it to be worth while, not just something to do.
  2. Interestingly enough, they have made snow at Frost and Boulder. They usually dont run both.
  3. Shows over.
  4. i had the neutral from the meter to the panel corroding.....any time something with any amp draw would start up, the lights would dim, and the computer speakers would crackle. That was interesting.
  5. Im wondering when they will give up on that idea. I mean, at this point, lets be realistic. the funny thing is the comments on FB.....but i guess people dont pay that close attention to the weather. people are asking what trails will be open, and that it will be "sick"
  6. do one of your cool internet things on that with a pic this morning, and a pic tomorrow morning after the rain.
  7. Temps are so borderline, and with 3/4" rain predicted, im pretty surprised they are doing anything. i will give them credit for putting on a show and wasting some PPL energy. Again, i wanna ski Friday, but that shit aint happening. Good news is temps did trend a little colder for friday and saturday nights, and next week still show cold overnight temps. we need good overnight temps, not 28 degrees, cloudy, and high humidity.
  8. i love when you do cool internet stuff like that.
  9. i would say its a 100% better chance for next weekend than this coming weekend.
  10. I really appreciate their commitment, and i would love for it to happen, but i just dont see how. Frost maybe, but Blue, not so much. Planning on managing the balance of my leaves this weekend.
  11. my old house had frequent outages, the big deal there was the sump pump. every house had one, and always ran when it rained. during a huge storm, the power went out across the street, and my neighbors basement was destroyed. after that i install a battery back up for the pump that would run it at least long enough to were i could get home and hook up the generator. Then i was gifted a Honda 6500 inverter, so i installed a sub-panel with a generator hook up. the generator was totally over the top for what i needed since i was on city water and sewer. Of course, after i went through all of that, i think i used it once. i moved in 2019, i have the generator still, but have never lost power at that house for any length of time. Fun story - my boss (who i got the gen from) his previous home had frequent outages. his power went out. maybe he wasnt home or whatever, but waited a while before setting up the generator. Hooks up the generator, but everything is kind of odd, things are making weird humming noises, the lights on his fridge arent right, water pressure isnt good. so he calls me to come over. he was set up for his whole panel to run off this generator, but what happened was everything was trying to start at the same time, well, fridges, etc. turned everything off, then back on one at a time and everything was fine. Kinda surprised he didnt cook at least the electronics in the one fancy kitchen fridge.
  12. Forecast from last Tuesday. Kind of looks like our cold has moved back, again. Now looks like cold comes around Sat/Sun after thanksgiving. I hate to be the barer of bad news, but it doesnt look like we are skiing this coming weekend. Just drinking.
  13. That goes in my book. see you Friday.
  14. i would love to ski on Ski Friday, but i would rather be surprised they pull it off, rather than planning on it and being disappointed. i dont see how Fridays gonna happen, but its a week out, and that rain is still there Tuesday. However, it did go colder i think, and based on this, i see shit getting fired up for real Wednesday pm.
  15. Could it be that the ski slope is really helping to keep the mall open? maybe it helps boost some traffic? i havent stepped in a mall in years. the last time was KOP, and i was just frustrated to be there trying to get to one store to get like a special flour sifter for my SIL for Christmas. Im not a shopper, so going to browse in a mall isnt my idea of fun. when i was 14 going to spencers gifts buying fart spray and getting Italian Delight was kind of an every friday night thing.
  16. Here you go. i might shy away from buying a season pass there....lol.. not sure how you continue to operate like this. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-09-19/american-dream-mega-mall-lost-245-million-in-2022-filing-shows
  17. i dont disagree with any of that. i just think based on the weather forecast right now, making snow Sunday night would be a test. it just looks like the windows for snowmaking will be small until like thursday.
  18. i remember reading an article a year ago or so saying they had enough cash on hand for like 1 month debt service. That cant be great. so, either they hit the lottery or they are going deeper in debt.
  19. i agree with that. weather, weatherbug, and accuweather all agree on one thing. Non-frozen precipitation on Tuesday, and as of right now, a significant amount,
  20. Greek peak fired some shit up the other night. might be more of a test than snowmaking in earnest, but it looks like some new equipment and upgrades.. @mbike-ski
  21. For this coming weekend, sure it would be neat to see them make some snow, but yeah, humidity looks high, and it doesnt look like it stays at like 27-28 degrees for very long each night. lets at least hope that cold around thanksgiving sticks around.
  22. So this changed for the better for sure. right now it doesnt look like a huge window this weekend, but at least things are moving in the right direction.
  23. The wave height sensor plays a huge role in this thing. Without it, really we just have a Chinese built, Russian traded, very heavy weather reporting machine. The problem is, the wave height sensor we have isnt calibrated in Centimeters, its calibrated in Meters, based on the fact that the Russians most likely stole it from the South China Sea, where wave heights are big. so we are trying to measure Beltsvilles tiny wave heights on a scale thats really just to big. @toast21602 pulled his hair out trying to adjust the algorithms to understand that something like .00569 M was in fact a real number and just getting it out 5 decimal places almost cost him one of his running trophies cause he almost missed a marathon.
  24. The ever elusive fried cheese ball from Rofo. i dont think any of them have them anymore, and even back when we had to find them, they were crazy hard to find. This was almost a deal breaker. We even tried to get the Russians to substitute cheese balls for Pizza, and little Caesars at that. I guess they knew it is shit pizza too.
  25. need some donations. bouys aint cheap, thats why this one isnt the best. we had to trade some Russians cases of Marlboro Reds, those cheese things they have at Royal Farms, and some Wawa gift cards. And at that, it was a super sketchy deal. https://www.gofundme.com/f/beltzvillebouy
