That cold has been moving back for weeks for now. That was supposed to be here 3 days ago. My confidence is kinda low at this point. And i try not to get excited about things that might not come true. I hope it comes, but like i said, not holding my breath. lets see how this looks in 3 days....lol

Yeah, im super surprised i have been able to pretty much ski the same trail over and over again for an hour or so. imagine what it will be like when we have like 5-6 trails open? holy fuck. of course i will be there tomorrow though. i thought about skipping it, but im heading home, so its on my way. if i ski 2 runs and split, i wont feel bad about it at all.

kinda thought today was gonna be real bad. it wasnt too bad. but Coming Soon was the star of the show, and thats kinda it. lower main was bombed out by a little after 9. i think they will make it into monday with similar conditions and similar skeet spots. Who knows what next week will bring.

I dont know if you need rock skis, but i might bring the dirt skis. With some edges, if you are going in the am.

I guess “cant believe how well Blue is holding up” can be subjective, but does this guy work for Blue? this is why i love FB, and the reason you shouldnt believe most of what you read on the internet. I would say Blue is holding on, but barely.

I think the closed tuesday until a total refresh on everything is quite possible. i think re opening paradise on friday will be wishful thinking. Theres not a lot of consensus between the forecasts, and to me it means temps are a coin toss. but, it could also swing super cold earlier in the week. But, the pattern has been for the cold to get moved back, so unfortunately thats how i think its gonna go. Sadly, Im not expecting great things to happen by next saturday.

Very fast skiing today, at least this morning. Everyday with these temps, and no snowmaking will certainly be a new adventure.

i sort of figured there would be some type of precip this morning, so i had a late arrival to find Benm, and DW already booted up. Even though Jeff wasnt there we were able to make it to the lift with all of our gear and were facing the right direction. Snow was nice, and there were like 7 other people there. Every run was empty. Lazy has been tagged as thin cover, and its not gonna last much longer. its down at lower lazy around the turn thats the problem area. its bad, but it does go, at least today it did. Paradise is getting a little thin up top. Coming soon and lower paradise are ok. Main street is a little thin where the lift crosses over. Its gonna be an interesting weekend for sure. Cloudy and 50 is probably better than 40 and sunny at this point. surprisingly there is still snow on razors, im using that as a gauge for how much snow we are losing by the day. Today was a real good day.

we had someone insist they fax us something 2 weeks ago. took 3 of us to figure out how to make it work again. i didnt even think we had one any more.

i did notice that the lot was extra trashy Sunday morning. i get it that Blue could have some more trash cans, but it would really help if people would just not be assholes. That in my opinion is the biggest problem. i dont get how people feel its ok just to chuck an empty can off the lift at any time. it was cool to have the six pack jammed in your coat, but now that they are empty its such a big deal to carry an empty? They really should try to do something about it, more cans are good, but peoples behavior needs to change as well.

dont worry, one of these weekends its gonna snow. Then 10,000 people will be trying to make powder turns on 3 trails. its gonna be epic.

might wanna start warming up to the paid parking idea. its just the way the industry is going. I dont know why this bothers people, as nobody is being forced to park in it.

There is a “foggy as fuck” warning for tomorrow morning. but of course i will come out to play.

Midway to lower main didnt disappoint. Coming soon did. Might have been ok earlier, but after sucking down a bunch of runs on midway, coming soon was slick with pockets of snow, and it was littered with the race team. They installed some ripples on coming soon which i didnt think were there yesterday. Lazy was wall to wall people, and just pretty comical at best. Snow was actually better than the typical opening day for a trail i thought. not quite as crowded today as i thought it would be, but still crowded. Production on Razors for 24 hrs of really marginal snowmaking was disappointing at best. A+ for effort by Blue, but it shows that temps well below 30 degrees are what we need.

im going with no way that upper main will be open tomorrow. i am sort of wondering if they try to do a single track down lazy. Obviously cant see all of lazy but the bottom near shuttle had some decent whales, and the top looked better than upper upper main. @Benm no snowmaking on come around.

Thought today was pretty decent. Midway was skiable mini marbles, and lower main was pretty good. Crowds were horrible by 10:30. The slow signs are just making getting through there worse. This weekend is gonna be super interesting with crowds. lower upper main looks like its getting filled in, but upper upper main didnt look like it had as much snowmaking on it. Upper Razors was getting treated, but looks like they turned them on not long before opening, as they were just making stuff white. Lazy had a fairly impressive amount of snow on it compared to upper main. i think they still have some guns on.

not for a little while, at least.

They need to just get people to keep moving there. Take the "slow" signs down, put up signs that say "no stopping". or, signs that say "stop and scratch balls at the base, not here" for the snowboarders and Palmeranians to understand. im never gonna be able to understand all of the stopping mid trail that goes on around Blue. But, if the parking lot dealio ever starts to become a problem, im planning on tailgating at the top of falls. im skiing tomorrow, feeling conditions have no where to go but up.

from this side of the bridge temps were looking mighty mediocre, but it looks like guns are still going on razors. looks like upper main got some love too. tonight will be pretty cold, but snowmaking looks to come to an end for a while tomorrow sometime.

HTFU. take up quilting. Take a few laps on the EC. see if that changes your out look on shit.

I think i have said all of those things over the past month.
