  1. i find the back up camera really awkward to use. im just alot more used to mirrors.
  2. October 30th, 2011. Split rock resort.
  3. Backing into a parking space is safer. look it up. im an 82.7% backer-inner when i park. Do you pull into your parking space before a snowstorm?
  4. i got the first issue a little while ago. it was breathtaking. i mean, the amount of pages dedicated to the deer park city ads were astonishing.
  5. If we get to ski anywhere in the Poconos on or before black Friday i will bring the bottle of champagne thats been sitting in my fridge since closing weekend.
  6. holy crap. that thing was kickin.
  7. im looking forward to more awesome post from sno mountain sara.
  8. John will probably be able to confirm this, but my take on these devices is they are basically a tablet, without a screen. TV = screen. i think you can download apps on it from google play. So, if there is an HBO GO app for android, i believe it will work.
  9. Ok, so the association between zoomtak and Droidstreamtv has me confused. Droidstream just sells the zoomtak box?
  10. So, kinda bored yesterday and looked into this briefly. i believe droidstreamtv is not the only game in town for this, but feel free to correct me if im wrong. i think anything that supports the XBMC/Kodi platform will do the trick. I did even read a short piece that you can get this to work on the amazon fire stick, but i think someone has to jailbreak it or something. Where is TTC6 when you need him? And why did my font size just change? I was looking at this on Amazon, and it comes up with good reviews from pcmags, etc. i dont find too much info outside their own webpage about driodstreamtv. http://www.amazon.com/Matricom-G-Box-Quad-Octo-Android/dp/B00QHLSKOE This looks like a better option than netflix if you are even remotely thinking of cutting the cord on cable.
  11. i think its very smart of you not to work on your own car.
  12. Been Seeing alot about El Nino this year. Whats it mean for us? Who fucking knows, and people tend to leave out the awesomeness that is skiing in NEPA whenever talking about El Nino snowfall. i dislike long range forecasts. But, if you are bored and want something to read about how El Nino affected ski joints in the year they are comparing this years El Nino to, have at it. http://ski.curbed.com/archives/2015/08/theres-a-90-percent-chance-were-getting-a-strong-el-nino.php?ref=yfp Oh my. looking at snowfall totals for 1997-1998 in Philadelphia, i sure hope we dont have a year like that.
  13. If you are doing the family thing, Lake Placid is going to give you more in the way of after ski stuff. Lake placid is pretty cool. There is very little around Gore. Its kind of in the middle of no where. lodging choices near Gore are pretty limited. Depending on how many days you really plan to ski, i would ski whiteface, stay in lake placid your last ski day at Whiteface, drive to Gore the AM of your first ski day there, stay around Gore 1-2 nights, drive home.
  14. Definitely go to Gore. I really like Whiteface, but a week might be a bit much.
  15. The 6.7's are a better engine. they did actually figure out how to get better than 9 mpg like the 6.4's got. i still dont know how the average person justifies buying a diesel truck unless they tow something heavy on a regular basis. Diesel is what now, like a 10K option? you would need to drive quite a bit to recover any savings on fuel over gas. I'm looking at making the switch to dodge trucks. Really the only way i will get back into a Ford is if they start buying back our trucks at retail price.
  16. Yes. but that engine was done like 2002-2003 if im not mistaken. now that was the best engine they made, but that will be a 12-13 yr old truck. Chances of finding on of those in a low mileage beauty are kinda low. Just to show how fucked up ford is, to remove the engine on a 6.0 or 6.4 they have to take the cab off the truck. Its kind of neat to see. not necessarily on one of your own trucks, but it is kind neat to see the cab hoovering above the truck on the lift.
  17. this is just my opinion, but dont bother buying a diesel truck for a personal vehicle. Diesel is costing more than gas these days, and the savings in mpg will quickly be swallowed up by repairs. Diesel trucks are really expensive to fix. Definitely do not buy a ford with a 6.0 or 6.4. the market is flooded with those because they all suck. i have a couple of them here, and it takes a fleet of mechanics to keep them running, and they are horrible on fuel. they tow stuff well, but thats about all i can it give kudos for. Chevy's duramax is better, probably dodge's cummins is better than chevy. Your budget is pretty low for a diesel truck, with that money you would probably end up with something with a ton of miles on it. Long story short, buy a gas engine. FYI - you will need a CDL class A to tow a trailer over 10K GVW. And just to make that clear, if you have a trailer with a GVW of over 10K hooked up to your truck with nothing loaded on it, you still need a CDL. Are you going to get caught? chances are slim. But i dont think you want to see the fine for that one.
  18. Im back on. Sometime around midnight last night. That sucks about the fios....at least i had that, i could power up the fios box, set top box and tv so at least i could watch tv in the dark. I am def gonna step up my generator game here. Going to go for a bigger generator with 240 volts, and set that up to run my sub panel so at least the essentials power up with some lights. Maybe even one a/c zone. Hot water was starting to become a hot commodity, but that should be switched to gas shortly.
  19. Still no pow wow. the fun continues. Hopefully my generator makes it through the experience, It sounds like rocks are tumbling around inside of it. my outage affects only 43 homes. that makes me think im pretty low on the list to be restored.
  20. No pow wow for me in Delco. been out since about 6 last night. as soon as i walked in my house it went out. my Dollar General generator is hanging in there keeping the food cold and a few lights on. Fun's over. i would like my power to come back on.
  21. No, i thought we were just taking pictures of cool cars. Thats awesome, and i'm pretty jealous. im actually on the hunt for one. The problem im having is finding one thats a driver. its like they either come in pieces, or belong in a museum. Thats a 1970 split bumper camaro.
  22. ^^^thats an incredible view. and thats "in town"?
  23. Walked it off a little at boulder field. Then blew some shit up.
