  1. So this guy thinks we could see some cold by thanksgiving. https://arcfieldweather.com/blog/2023/11/13/230-pm-a-more-active-weather-pattern-and-a-cold-air-outbreak-sweeps-across-much-of-the-nation-next-weekjust-in-time-for-thanksgiving- dayteleconnection-indices-support-change-to-cold-idea?fbclid=IwAR11f0AGlKS0hSt0TMoUdaYqoT9Jw6v_7-nRlVVl6SGi6WNAYq2w-FPCjB0 doesnt really say snowmaking cold, but one can always hope. Still thinking its gonna be december before we are skiing at blue though.
  2. Still waiting on Kunkletown weather station to go live.
  3. There wasnt one near me, so going to one was a big deal to me. mostly when we were on Vacation, and i pretty much had to beg, plead, and act like an asshole to get my way. i remember thinking getting a pitcher of Coke was just the coolest thing ever.
  4. yeah......kinda thinking im going to need to find another activity for Thanksgiving weekend to keep myself occupied with. If you believe in long range stuff, i mean temperature wise i kind of do, look at like the 4th or 5th of December as of now.
  5. The old stand alone restaurants were so cool....everybody knows the red cups....checkered tablecloths...... going to a pizza hut back then was like really going out for pizza. it was cool. now i feel like the pizza is just a little bit better than @Benm's fav little Caesars hot and ready cardboard.
  6. Solitude is open. Go there.
  7. We will need to flip back to this in December to either get a good laugh, or promote this guy to PASR forecaster.
  8. Are those next years model? they look sweet.
  9. They should slow those chargers down as well, i mean, EV's are cool, but no where near as cool as making snow. When they used to do rolling blackouts in the winter, that made no sense to me, at least for homes with electric heating. lets shut the power down for a little while, then turn it back on after a while just to have your power consumption go to like 100% to get your heat back?
  10. i believe that Killington was interrupted by the power co. shortly after they fired up last week or whenever it was, so its not just limited to Blue. The Poconos is filled with homes that have that super efficient electric baseboard heat. What would be interesting to take note of is the next time Blue is shut down for grid issues, is to see if Cameltoe, and JFBB are affected by it. But, also, who knows if those get power from the same grid. Maybe its just Palmerton thats fucked up. Well, i mean fucked up power grid.
  11. definitely no hike park last year. Whatever they had last year, and i do kinda think it was along the lines of what you mentioned, was just enough. 6-8 hours a night of snowmaking takes fooooorrrreeeevvvveeeer to get some shit down. maybe the new shit they have will help with that, but i always thought the old shit would make more snow in marginal temps. notice i didnt say good snow.
  12. That kinda went over your head. i see thats for palmerton, but i just dont see making snow for maybe 2 nights will amount to anything. So when you said, "lets go" i said "where, Killington?" because i dont think they will make any snow in Palmerton, or at least any snow that will be of any benefit - (kinda looks to get a little warm next week) But they have snow in Killington. Man made, but they are open, and making snow.
  13. Where? Killington? Whats interesting is the humidity in our area when it does get cold. but i think that settles out some when daytime/nightime temps get closer to one another.
  14. i dont believe in dong range forecasts, but i hope we start seeing some decent cold before Ski Friday. looks like the cold comes in after Thanksgiving. im ready to go skiing.
  15. mmmmmm. Waffle Cabin temps start trending downhill pretty good next week. right now, not good enough, but going down.
  16. how fucking cold is it in your house right now?
  17. They try to open with Rime/Reason, correct? I have doubted Killingtons abilities before, but im thinking they have a lot of work to do to make tomorrow happen.
  18. You still have yet to explain to us what a "soft opening" is in regards to a ski resort.
  19. I think i got to the “too much” point. Mulched what was just on the grass and its kinda thick. Its raining leaves here. I have never see leaves fall this fast. Looks like i did nothing today. Gutters are filled back up too.
  20. Big leaf mulching day. Its like my house has some type of magnetic leaf field.....i feel like every leaf that falls within 200 feet of my house is in my driveway and yard.
  21. break out the pow skis for Albrightsville as well next week. Gonna be epic.
  22. I dont really understand what a soft opening at Blue would be either. Just us PASRS? Invite only?
