I need to agree with PC on Thunderbolt Glade. i have zero interest in it without tons of natural snow, and at that, i still think its sketchy. i have seen too many people get messed up in there. its like thats where they dumped all the boulders they picked up somewhere else. Without the flight!

Pretty nice day today, Guitar73 was in the house and PC was back and forth with the instructor thing. All the normal things you would expect. Eglade is ok, elevator wont hold any snow. Best snow was on exhibition, one park glade was holding snow pretty good, still a few rocks to be found. Mad tree glade is actually pretty good. Stoke stomper for the day was all the trails closed for racing. they are now closing solitude and floyds for the race team, which takes out telstar as well, so basically half of East Mt is closed so the spandex squad can do their thing. As if that wasnt a kick in the ass, they also had Challenge closed, which takes out Challange glade, so just kick me in the nuts now. It was a very busy Sunday. To busy for them to have all those trails closed. Sunday fail JFBB. So the big news is, celebrity weather person, and skiing sensation Cecily Tynan was taken off East Mt via toboggan by ski patrol. Looks like she will be forecasting our next powder day sitting down, with some type of knee injury.

JF skied great today. it would appear as if they groomed just after closing yesterday, so it was just a wonderland of un-groomed powder everywhere. As temps started to rise the snow really got packed down, and by noon what wasnt tracked out was pretty heavy. Trails will be nice tomorrow, but there isnt much left to be had off trail. Today was the day.

Met up with PC on the slopes at 11 am. Off trail stuff was ok, kinda dust on crust. Snow on the slopes was awesome. Sun came out real nice about noon, which made for a great day. Tbolt and Exhibition were the ROTD. Left just after 2 to get first chair at Boulder for a little variety. My favorite trail dragonfire was primo with lots of freshly groomed cord for a big 15 second run. Big Boulder trail has some very interesting weirdo rollers on it, unlike years past that had the 3 big jumps on it. it skied very weird, but skiers left was a small area of untouched pow, probably about an inch or so that made things very spicy. (lets remember this is PA, 2015). Lower snowdrift was roped off, and they have 3 fan guns in it. its not clear what they are doing in there, but it basically mirrors the weird stuff on BB trail. i have never seen them actually blow snow in there before. Runs were short, lifts were slow and uncomfortable, but the place was empty and the snow was great. Wmgk was in the house with lots of give outs, trivia games, and a U2 cover band. i was unable to win some decent swag because my U2 phone-a-friend was slow responding to texts. Tomorrow is destined to be epic.

i am pretty sure they did it starting maybe 2-3 yrs ago as well. My pass from Mbike isnt good on Fridays, so i assumed this was still the case. It appears as though they were unable to persuade the rest of the population that Friday was to be considered a weekend, and it looks like they have bailed on the idea.

I am wondering if you and Jeff leaving Saturday will bring the storm up the coast more or push it out to sea. i have been hearing snow starts friday night, snows all day saturday, if it does what its supposed to. but its still so up in the air. 0-16 inches is my call for every storm now. in the law of averages, i bet that works out pretty well.

My first pick would be morning, but stupid work keeps getting in the way. i have a meeting till about 10:30, pick up dog, up to Albrightsville, then down to Blue, i am thinking the earliest would be 4 pm unfortunately. Friday is Ski Bum Customer day. $33 tickets for anyone who didnt know.

i think i will take advantage of all the fresh powder that todays storm will annihilate Blue with. I was thinking a late afternoon/evening session on Thursday. Is Thursday night still ski club night? Anyone else gonna be around?

0-16" for the Poconos. I think it might be a little early yet to be putting numbers on saturdays event. I feel like the general consensus is, nobody knows really how this storm will track.

What i typed sounded better in my head than when i re-read it. i dont blame him at all for not posting here any longer, either. i dont know, it looks pretty similar to what i skied at Frost on Saturday....... i hope you can pick up on my sarcasm there. i would take that one run over everything i skied this past weekend.

My bad...for some reason i thought lift jumping was 2011. 2010 it was. That was a great day. i think the mid week powder day at Blue last year may still be tops in PA for me though.

Did you get to jump off a ski lift that day?
