  1. Seems like a pretty neat place to check out, but to me, only if it was much closer. its pretty far from Philly or the Poconos. For that amount of travel i would rather jump in Ridge Racers time machine and head for the Catskills.
  2. This might not be a bad idea....Casino with a ski area/waterpark, let the kids ski/waterpark, mom and dad drink weak mixed drinks at the casino....or ski during the day and hit the casinos at night? any other casinos with ski slope? yeah, it was pretty warm today. any snow left at Blue or BB?
  3. Weather looks a little warmer this week than predicted last week. Hopefully they will get going on some other trails, and start things up over at Frost. Looks like they could have a few trails open at BB for Black Friday.
  4. Thats a harsh ride....my neighbor does it from Cape May.
  5. i believe it does. your results might vary, like if you happen to be in Ridge Racers time machine. keep in mind the general disregard for the speed limit applies to the roads on the shortcut as well.
  6. Kinda bored at work, so here it is. i think its opening in the spring. I think it should be exit 87, where as Mahoning Valley is 72, or 74. Pocono exit is 95? The nice thing about the new exit is it is fairly flat, with just a little hill on 903. the shortcut can be a white knuckle ride in inclement weather.
  7. My dealings with Blue Ridge have always been real good. Unlike the carrier i use to have in Philly. Internet here doesnt look quite as awesome as Roots.
  8. Blue ridge communications.
  9. I will bet no......I believe they put every effort into opening just freedom. And i think they are being vague for a reason. Its funny how it says Big Boulder Park will be open starting today. i hope people dont think its Big Boulder trail. From the webcams Big Boulder trail looks like a golf course with plush green grass. Where is that pic from like 4-5 yrs ago? I am really jonesing to get on the snow....but not this bad. i just really hope when they can get back to snowmaking they can focus on other trails, rather than just refreshing Freedom so they can say they are still open.
  10. Freedom is groomed, somewhat.
  11. If they get one more night of snowmaking, BB will open Freedom. it will be awesome. Its pretty obvious their commitment to snowmaking at this point is to just "open". I would say they dont feel great about the up coming temps or they would be laying down more on other trails, which it doesnt appear is happening. Or they are afraid of Sasquatch. Its awesome what BB does with the food drive, and toys for tots. Kudos for that, but at this point i am more interested in what blue can open.
  12. Camelback has safely stowed the inner tubes and also fired up the snowmaking equipment. good stuff for November 12th.
  13. Dont forget Frankie. Cover? maybe?
  14. It amazes me that JFBB really doesnt take full advantage of what they could be doing on facebook, and for that matter their website. But i guess its par for the course with the recent events that were in the news over the summer. KC really did a nice job with Sno's facebook page. (at least i think it was KC.). when you compare the two, JFBB post pictures taken from a window in someones office, where as Sno's had pictures of people actually skiing. JFBB will post stuff from now until they are fully open, then it just gets put on cruise control.
  15. it would be super-neato if they did make some snow, but temps look pretty warm for a while after wed-thurs.
  16. Buckmans always does a special preseason....probably ends soon if not today. $35 for a full tune. Kinda like NMSKI alluded too, nothing happens real fast at Buckmans. Not a big deal pre-season though.
  17. Nice.....snow.....ski....cant wait. I'm pretty much the last person that should be handing out tech advise, but try taking pics on the Iphone with the home button always pointed to the right.
  18. Thanks for posting. thats a good deal and i picked one up. thats a weeks worth of skiing on the cheap. i still think you have some type of unnatural leaf/foliage fetish, though.
  19. I like your thinking. if that is to happen, i will gladly open my wallet and treat you to overpriced beers at the bar. Edit - Provided more than Freedom is open. If its just Freedom, i am not going anywhere near the place on Thanksgiving weekend.
  20. Berry was in the papers as the owner of cb. Unsure how he fits into all of this. If you remember he also showed interest in sno at the time of the sale. When was the waterpark built?
  21. Feel free to share some pictures of the house. like to see it. Some of the land in these pictures yours?
  22. last years accuweather long range was really right on the mark. Philadelphia received a whopping 8", and our normal snowfall is about 22". Allentown received 22", normal 32". kudos to accuweather. And just because i am bored..... Philadelphia got slammed this year with 4" of snow. Allentown got buried under 12" of snow that year.
  23. They should just do those in Crayon. They cant figure out what this weekend will be like, yet they are making predictions for the whole winter? Good or bad, they just dont hold any weight.
  24. Does look like some nice trees, but i am with Root on this one. Quite a long drive, unless you happen to find yourself out that way. Or, unless you happen to get a ride in Ridge Racers time machine.
  25. I have no first hand experience on this, only what I have always read here. I thought Blue had trouble making marginal snow in excellent conditions.
