  1. i feel like this is going to be an expensive layover. This bar is way to close to our gate.
  2. Sorry for the teaser. A normally 12 minute commute turned into over a half hour as the road conditions were not great, managed to pull in at just after 8 with snow still falling. They had Challenge roped off for a race....kind of unsportsman like conduct on a powder day if you ask me. headed to east mountain and lapped lightning/rivershot and floyds before they got tracked out. crowds really didnt pick up until about 9:30, and even at the busiest time i didnt ever really have a line at the lift. Started making laps to the elevator after the trails got tracked out a bit. sometime after that i spotted Toast and his crew over by risk it and floyds. Met up with them for a run shortly there after, and then a ski exchange for myself. made a few runs down tbolt and exhibition, and then back over to east. My day was limited till about 1 pm so i was focused on getting as many runs in as possible......last run i made was down through happyland, which was still roped off, i figured if they were gonna get bent about it, it should be on my last run. looked like they were packing things up on Challange, so no big deal. happyland was still in pretty decent shape for 1 pm. left after that run. great day, it snowed until 10 or 11, but remained kinda cloudy and cold. Didnt date the title either - 1-21-2012 Saw these guys from the lift a few times Happyland
  3. Powder. Fun. Toast and friends seemed to be enjoying the day. more on this later.
  4. should be good. about 3" so far....
  5. Nice day today at Jack Frost, Sun and not too many clouds to speak of. Its pretty apparent they did a considerable amount of snowmaking after the weather this week. Challange glade and E-glade were a little slick, there was a dusting of powder in them that provided a little grip, but quickly got pushed off. The Elevator was tops. i expected the same conditions there, but it would appear it got some really nice blow over from River Shot. Just a few small icy patches near the top, by the time i left. Before i got over to check out risk it i saw some boarders in it, and it was definetly slick. i snapped a pic and went on my way. Off to get some new pants since i tangled with some sticker bushes, and lost. Elevator. Risk it.
  6. best purchase thus far. thanks.
  7. right now it seems as though the lehigh valley could go either way with a changeover to sleet/ice. I'm reading 4" + for the poconos.
  8. Friday night Saturday it looks like there is a good shot at our first in-season snowfall. Keep your fingers crossed.

  11. maybe some snow this weekend, too.
  12. i'm in for friday and saturday. floyds and risk it should be neato.
  13. We got a little coating of snow overnight which i think equates to about 4" on the JFBB ruler that they use for measuring snow. nice day today, everything skied real nice, except maybe the most right hand side of challange glade, both John and I found some things that had a negative effect on our forward momentum, and learned that gravity is in fact still working at Jack Frost. Nice to make some runs with C1, John and Dom today. like C1 said, they are absoulutly pounding Floyds with snow, and risk it seems to be benefiting from that. From the looks of Floyds, i would think R2 will be able to ski lehigh on monday, as they were blowing on that as well.
  14. Risk it is not on the current trail map.......there are some older versions floating around which i believe it is on.
  15. Met up with PC about 8:15 am on East Mountain. Snow makers put down quite a bit of fresh stuff last night. Challenge glade, E-glade and the Elevator all had real nice untracked snow in them. Challange glade was probably the run of the day as you could really fly through the trees. The snow held up really nice all through the day, making today number one day at Frost. They were blowing on lehigh and telstar/floyds/risk it all day. Skied until about 2 pm, with lighter than normal crowds for this weekend, i dont recall having to wait for a lift more than twice. We had PC's gopro out for a few runs so he might have some decent footage. Challange glade, cell phone vid, so, beware, this may make you dizzy, or sea sick.
  16. ha ha ha ha ha .......this deserves than a like........
  17. i skied from about 10 am until noon. frozen hard pack with just a coating of fresh on top. They were turning on the fan guns as i was making my first runs. Except for the top, East mountain was better protected from the winds than the other slopes. Fan guns can really lay down some snow quick, and that really made it nice for the few runs i was able to make. i left feeling like tomorrow will be a really nice day. the wind was really carrying the snow from the guns on challenge right into the glade. same on east as far as the elevator.
  18. Got on the ice a little late today, about 9:30. first stop was at the top of challenge glade, which i could see my reflection on. Everything else was shaved ice on top of ice. Made 4-5 runs and called it quits. Friday was great, saturday warmed up too fast, and today just out right sucked.
  19. i read a little further than i should have. [insert queesy stomach barfing smily here] I hope this shits coming to an end for you.
  20. E-glade was really nice. Elevator was nice on the top and the side closest to the E-glade, provided you dont mind skiing over some stickers there was a nice thin layer of powder there. The baller route was really hard packed manmade. softened up a little around 10:30. Challenge glade was nice, but just like C1 said, a little thin down by the lift. not quite top to bottom, but a huge improvement over last week. its probably 85%. Props to the snowmakers and groomers. Both E-glade and Elevator had good coverage, and there werent any huge snow boulders rolled in there like last year. Crowds got a little too heavy for me at just after 11. Really good snow day.
  21. the first one is day off on the slopes.....very crowded skiing. like C1 said, get in early, and get out early. 2nd one is the cardboard classic...very few people actually ski that day, but parking is a nightmare. all the lots are full, and people are parked along the road coming in.
  22. please dont tell me this coming friday is wmmr day.
  23. i took the same walk. i guess the good news part of this picture is there is a ton of snow in the E glade. i am thankful to be back to skiing, but its been like groundhog day every day at frost. little bit of challange glade, challenge, thunderbolt, demattes, then exhibition.....rinse and repeat. definetly need to get east mt. opened up.
  24. nope. Lehigh looks like a fairway, and i think that was his slope of choice.
  25. looking like it needs a lawnmower.
