light snow falling in the micro-climate.

Just back from Boulder, PA Ridge Racer and myself got on the snow about 7:30. Lapped Big Boulder and Love Park until about 9:30. Guns are going hard on both trails, they were groomed out earlier but the fan guns were doing a nice job of laying down some nice man-made powder. Love Park was a little easier on the face than Big Boulder with the guns going, but there was a little bit more powder on Big Boulder, specifically at the top. Lift line for Boulder and Love park where non-existant. skied right up to the chair each time. i would say 75% of the people there must have been on freedom. Googles were obviously a must, bring your google heaters. Had a great time, hats off to peak for getting three slopes open.

clousplitter glades to 10th mountain glade to high country glade. way too much fun. if all of sugar valley glade is open, its crazy long, like 1 mile or so. the vertical at whiteface is pretty cool too. if by chance the slides are open, supposedly there is some pretty nice stuff over there. the slides wont open unless there is a big dump of snow.

snowmonsters is what i was thinking for him. i figure its worth a try, and in the end its just a ploy to get my family to come to the poconos rather than me driving to harrisburg during prime time. we have taken him sledding a bunch, he doesnt cry about the cold, etc, but i think with his attention span i see him eating snow in 1 hour. anyways, i guess you have to start them sometime. Barb - whens the big move? tell me more about this....i did some research on this but that was many beers ago..... -

whats your plan for getting your son on skis? reason i ask is my nephew is 3, and i think the saftey inspector (aka my brother) will give the nod for at least 1 shot at putting him on skis this year. just trying to figure out the best method for this. other than that - i hope my buddies kids progress as they did last year. goal for them would be skiing challenge at frost. -
pretty cool, even though i am no iron maiden fan. but definetly different. i have forever wanted a pair of the K2 brewskis.

pictures are always good.

Higher Education Pass - College Pass
JFskiDan replied to Switchsideskier.'s topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
i have always been kinda curious why its just a college pass. its a great price for a pass, but my buddies kids in high school cant take advantage of it. i guess when you are in high school you have more money than when you get to college? -
snowing at whiteface as well. http://www.whiteface.com/mountain/cams.php

THURSDAY 10 AM VERMONT GROUND ZERO FOR CRUSHING SNOWSTORM. My take on this is 1-2 FEET of snow for elevations above 1500 feet in Vermont and with the foliage still on trees this will be ground zero for what will be a heavy wet snow in the high ground into Massachusetts and as for southwest as the northeast Catskills. The Big Dog will review i dont know anything more about this, but it certainly caught my eye.

k2 public enemy seems to be a popular, well rounded all mountain type twin tip. i dont think they are made anymore, but the extreme is supposed to be the same ski with a different top sheet, and of course more money.

i think its really optimistic to be thinking anything in the north east will get going in october. i would like it to happen, but i guess only time will tell. long range forcasts always seem to be colder than actual temps.

name dropper.

my township does the same thing. it used to be at least 10 bucks, but now i think its more like 7-8 bucks.

must be working on his new helmet cam/web device/ski tuner/umbrella. we all know he likes the electronics. my guess is X means conditions not so good for skiing today.
