Kindly take it to the "Ski NY Easter Weekend" thread, and stop junking up my thread. Thanks.

Totally agree. what a great weekend, can hang the skis up and look back on the last 3 days and be pretty darn happy about ending my season on that note. FYI, Easter 2024 is March 31st. Magic is such a neat place. i really want to make a go of it again next year when they have more open, but damn it was some fun skiing yesterday, particullary anything that might have been considered a tad sketchy. It was a firm start, but the groomed runs were nice for the most part. Once the sun did its work, Tom headed off for some exploration and found " sketchy run #1, sketchy trees #1, and sketchy trees #2" which even with my legs being pretty beat up from the past 2 days, it didnt take much to convince me to check it out. Things were just soft enough, and im sure they would have been really soft in the afternoon, but we needed to make like a banana and split after a nice lunch on the deck with a view. The history behind Magic is a good read, and im still reading up on it. I wasnt aware the quad lift was installed quite a while ago, but has had one issue after another with a derailment, the haul rope, and some of the sheaves needing replaced, and since its been installed, i dont think it has had one person on it. Looking into the history of the place, they have never had good luck with the lifts there, the green one took like 15 years to get going. I think the place is built on an ancient indian burial ground, and they hate lifts for some reason. Also, the place went bankrupt in the 90's and was shut down for 5 years or so, so its hard not to root for the place coming back to life. I think the lady that sold me my ticket, also brought us our lunch. There is zero corporate at Magic, and there isnt much PC about the place. i love it.

Spent some quality time at the Bush today. Firm start on super bravo, but once gatehouse started loading we moved over there to find some really soft snow. Played in that area for a while, then went down to the base again to find a huge lineup at super bravo. Went back over to the other side after a run there. they had springfest today, and drew a big crowd. It was pretty busy. Sunny co ditikns all fay, but chillier than yeaterday. Another real nice day with the crew.

It was a Good Friday at Killington with @AtomicSkier @NMSKI @Johnny Law slow start to the day, started with the gondi as some stuff was on a delayed opening. Quickly after 10 or so more started opening and things got real nice real fast. i think we are going to the Bush tomorrow. Will dip into the twenties tonight, so a firm start im sure, but should warm up nice. As skitoolives says “get hard on Saturday, and stay soft on Sundays” or whatever.

it seems like they are at the point were any little bit of snow causes issues with avalanches. The road has been closed a ton.

Sweet. a set of twin tips. Some graphics and nobody would ever notice.

No doubt a Hertz ex rental car that was “well maintained”.
-
Any car that is loved by Demolition Derby Dudes is a durable car, but safety is actually pretty low on the list. https://www.hotcars.com/crown-victoria-best-demolition-derby-cars/ But dark tinted windows should come in handy too.

Interested to hear how KIllington is, heading up that way next weekend.

Blue Sucks. @Ski2Live Live2Ski They are using the JFBB calculator. 30% X 3 trails X 3 times more trails X 8.34 divided by the Average # of layovers for a Frontier flight over the average lay over time. Its really simple math when you think about it.

If you take the police cruiser you will make great time.

I think he is throwing shade on all PA resorts. but this is also from the guy that bought his daughters a used cop car at an auction, and rental skis from camelback.
-
Dont forget about his Double Black Diamond Daughters. And thier new well used car. And thier Camelback rental skis.

Im not exactly sure thats what they said....... What ever they could put down tonight, would be long gone before any skis touch it on Saturday, unless they open for Thursday. Have you looked at thier webcams? what you can see from the cams looks rowdy as shit. We aint talking a little touch up, they need more resurfacing than Dolly Parton. I would be super surprised if even blew snow, and more super surprised if they open on Sat. But maybe they wanna open Sat just for shits and giggles, Montage definetly thinks a little different than other mountains, which is cool. I applaude them for the attempt. That being said, if they open on Sat, and its not pouring down rain, i might probably maybe go.
-
Take it to the JF thread. this is the Indy thread. and the buying old police cars auction thread. 😆
-
Back on track here, Greek says they will be open this weekend, they have pond skim scheduled for Sat, Montage is "checking out the weather"......they havent closed, but might have. if Saturdays weather shows any kind of rain, my bet is they pack it in.

I wont disagree that the crown vic is a decent car, used parts are plentiful since they built millions of them, even though police departments "follow vehicle maint scheds to the letter" (LOL) cops also love to beat the shit out of thier cars. Not one of the dudes doing a burnout, tossing it around a corner trying to pretend its a Lambo, or jumping it over a curb is going "oh my, i shouldnt do that again, dont want the next owner to think the car was abused"

These would be nice. https://www.amazon.com/Totally-Covers-Animal-Print-Seat/dp/B00NPIQX7I

Hopefully its not the standard cop plastic rear seat, at least some vinyl would make the experience more comfortable. Those super dark tinted windows will really make for some great privacy too. And who would mess with a cop car at inspiration point?

Very fun day today. Obstacles to navigate, small bailout lines, and of course, "the cupcake line". Rain held off until 10. more ski police than patrons. We hit the lot with some drizzle, which turned into a more steady rain, so we tried something new, which was take the parking lot inside, had a few beers, stayed dry, and had a good time.
