looks like they did a decent job filling in the shit stain on Main, or at least made it look a little less shitty. it looked bad yesterday.

im putting my money on they will top off NMDW to get it open, finish getting challenge, side, switch, etc open before going back to NMDW to waste snow. all of this of course after freshening up whats open.
-
Well thats progress.
-
it would just be cheaper for Blue to go clean it up.

Last week i rode the lift with some loud British woman with her freind, and overheard her say it was disgusting and it really made me think that it is pretty sad that we (as patrons of Blue) just assume its ok to do, and that someone else will clean it up. Thats kinda fucked up. i dont get how people are able to carry the beers full in thier pockets, but once they are empty they can no longer carry them.

Spring wasnt open? what about the sno cone snowmaking thing they bought? supposed to make snow in any temp.

I heard taylor swift and the jonas brothers were busy that day.

I told a friend JFBB would never host the Cardboard Classic ever again, and if anybody was going to do it, it would be Montage. Enough about how smart i am, this is just over the top smart on Montage's part. Have the Cardboard Classic, and then a music festival. you can do the sled race for free, but if you wanna see some live music, you will need to open up the purse strings. Allow MMR to advertise for you, and also bring a few thousand people up to the mountain that day. Well played Montage. Well played. https://www.montagemountainresorts.com/mountainfest/#tickets

Weather.com and Accuweather show some snowmaking temps starting Sunday night. Weatherbug says a little tickle on Sunday night, then keep waiting. All three use different weather models, so i say we have a 75% of overnight snowmaking starting Sunday night. Getting through this coming weekend could be rough.

With as grumpy as Blues lifts can be, you would think they would run the back ups often. Wouldnt the backup have to be run for inspection?

I sort of threw that scenerio around. At one point it was billowing out of a very concentrated area under the building, like it was coming out of an exhaust pipe. If it was the diesel, (1) it needs some work. (2) i get having the exhaust somewhere where water wont go down it, but having it dump out under the building where the chairs load seems kinda odd. and yeah, it did run shortly after the smoke show, so leaning towards diesel makes sense. That much smoke being electrical should have fried something, and most likely caught fire, like with some nice new year sparkly stuff.

I thought first run might not be bad, but the odds were definitely against it being good. We opted for the safe bet, which was coming soon, which has always been good first. So yeah, on our second ride up the quad, maybe 5 runs in or so, we were looking at Razors like "actually it doesnt look that bad". So deceiving. i knew the first headwall was gonna be bad, but what the fuck, like baseball sized cookies. imagine Boulder Field at Hickory run turned on its end bad. i laughed the entire ride down it was so fucking bad, and it still didnt ski good even where it looked like it would further down the slope. Why on earth we saw people making multiple passes on that garbage, i have no idea what they were thinking. I guess it was the "gotta ski the steepest stuff even though its pure shit" crowd. Jesus.....go ski where the snow is good. But, other than that, everything else was good to decent. lower main skiers left was really nice. Another good day, sans Razors. My guess tomorrows Razors is brutally firm. We shall see. Blue Mt has no idea when the lift is going to open, so why would the guy working on it?.....lol. -
Razors and come around for tomorrow.
-
crowds were rolling in today for sure. Good morning, maybe not quite as good as yesterday. Widoracecuz's went from yesterdays brick to cookies today. Should be good for tomorrow. Burma was hysterical. seems like Midway is everybodys least favorite trail, which is good. nothin like getting yelled at to slow down on Paridise..........when there is nobody on it.

True, sometimes Blues logic seems.....off, but snowmaking comes to a brisk halt here sometime this morning for what looks to be a while. So, maybe just running on whats about to open, to build it up makes some sense. Hopefully there is enough down on NMDW to get that open. i think upper main should be good to go, and it looked like come around had some decent snow on it as well. but yeah, those mountains on Razors are crazy. -

The guy that parked next to me said Friday January 13th. Anyways, pretty damn good morning if you ask me. Conditions were better than yesterday. Could conditions be better tomorrow than today? They wont have to groom Cuz's widowmaker raceway, thats for sure. that shit was firm. The people that like to stop, stand around in the worst spot, or make a left from the right hand turn lane, are out in force on the slopes. -
crowds should be low that weekend. Enjoy!

looks pretty similar tonight. Early AM crowds were low, but came in a little later, and now.... oh, and there is a comment on Blues FB page stating the power outages were of the rolling blackout types. im not totally sure i buy into that, i have trouble believing they would just pull the plug with people getting stranded on a lift. granted, diesel back ups and whatnot, but still thats a huge risk assuming Blues back up anything is going to work well. -

did you happen to see them pushing snow around? on our last run, there was a groomer coming down towards main from the Main Street Express. kinda curious as to where they were going. -

i was thinking you might be able to talk me into a night session this week. Then i looked at the Valley cam - That seems like a shit ton of people trying to ski what trails are open. -

Pretty nice morning. the headwall (i guess) before the turn on lazy was the best snow. i forgot Chute was open. If i skied it, it would be like the 3rd time ever. i think Chute would be a nice trail if it had some trees in it. i keep forgetting.....Why do we give a fuck about how much lift tickets are? -
Of course.
